Lizzie gapes at the box and I urge her inside my head to open the box. Just open it, I know he probably planned something but the dumbass dropped it. It's fair game! Just open the damn box!

Ryder reaches over snatching the box from her. Dammit Lizzie you hesitated too long. Ryder sighs and shakes his head. He's probably mentally cursing himself for being so stupid.

Lizzie looks like she's about to cry, and I wish I could climb out of this bed to comfort her. Suddenly Ryder drops to his knee.

"I had this all planned out, bought this when I took Zane to get the necklace. This isn't where I wanted to do this but I guess this is happening for a reason." He takes Lizzie's hand in his. "Lizzie I've never known love like this until I've met you. You've forever changed me and I want you to be my forever." Lizzie starts to cry. "Would you please do me the honor of being my wife?"

Lizzie turns to me and then looks at Zane, then back to Ryder. "I um..." She wipes the tears from her face and Ryder has a scared look on his face. "Can I have a minute please?" And just like that she's running out the door.

Ryder stands up. "She doesn't want to marry me?"

"Ryder just give her a minute, this was unexpected." I say to him.

"I'll go talk to her." Zane says walking from the room.

"Ryder seriously I know Lizzie and she probably beating herself up for you not being to have the moment you planned."

"I was going to take her on a weekend trip and propose at the beach."

"That's sweet. She probably just feels guilty that's all."

"I hope you are right Lucy."

I look down at Luna in my arms and she's fast asleep. I'm anxiously awaiting for Zane to bring Lizzie back into the room. I sure hope I'm right, I hope she comes in here and says yes.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Zane and Lizzie walking toward the door. She's smiling now and Zane looks like he's saying something reassuring.

Zane and Lizzie step back into the room and Lizzie jumps on Ryder. "Yes I'll marry you!" And kisses him. "I'm sorry I ran out. I felt bad because you didn't get to propose the way you wanted too. I saw the hurt on your face when the box fell from your pocket."

Ryder kisses her again. "I don't care how the proposal happens as long as you say yes."

Ryder opens the box and takes the ring out sliding it onto her finger. "It's beautiful Ryder!"

"He did a good job didn't he?" Zane asks sending a soft wink to Ryder.

"He sure did. I love it." She says taking his hand.

"Knock know." Dr. Sengrini says walking into the room. "How is everyone?"

"Good!" I say. "They just got engaged!"

"Wow that's excellent! Congrats!" Dr.Sengrini says shaking Ryder's hand and then Lizzie's. "I see you've officially adapted into your mom duties?"

"I am." I say smiling. "She's the most beautiful and perfect baby I've ever seen."

"She looks just like you." He says. "Well I need to check everything over and make sure everything is where it needs to be. I'm thinking if you do good through the night maybe send you home tomorrow afternoon. How does that sound?"

"Awesome. No offense but this place really sucks and I really just want to be in the comfort of my own home, enjoying my baby girl."

"Understandable. How about we get you out of bed and walk some. I'm sure Zane will be glad to walk with you."

"Of coarse I will!" He smiles eager to get me out of here too.

"I'll take Luna and lay her in the car seat to finish her nap." Lizzie says carefully taking Luna from me and laying her in her car seat.

I swing my legs over the bed and Zane comes to my side to help me stand up. I take it slow since I've been in a slumber for over 3 weeks. My legs are shaking and I take advantage of Zane. He links his arm in mine to help stabilize me and I slowly take a step forward. 

The first step was the hardest, after that it was fairly easy. Zane walked with down the hall a few times and he told me everything that has happened and I am saddened that I missed so much time with them.

It felt so good to feel his touch again and it felt so good to talk to him again. I can only imagine how hard this has been for him but he assured me that everyone pitched in to help and it worked out just fine.

Zane can't stop looking at me. Every chance he gets, he sneaks a peek at me. I get shy and blush. He gently squeezes my hand when he grins at me.

"I like this." I say reaching up to rub the extra long scruff on his face. I ruffle his hair next. "I like this too. Will you keep it like this?"

He stops and his ice blue eyes pierce my soul and suddenly I'm melting into his arms. He cups my face and bringing his soft lips to meet mine.

"We have a lot of time to make up for. "Zane says against my lips and I smile. He nibbles my bottom lip before letting go so we can continue on with our walk. "To bad you can't come home tonight."

"I know but it's just one more night and I'm all yours."

"Maybe Lizzie and Ryder will take the last night with Luna and I can stay here with you."

"Hmm maybe. That's up to you though and the doctors."

"I'll talk to them Lucy. I can't stand anymore time away from you." He squeezes my hand. "God I missed you."

I can't help but smile. I love him so much and I know the feeling is mutual because I know he loves me just the same.

I barely slept last night. Zane was moving around so much in the lounge chair they brought in for him to sleep on. Not only was he moving around a ton he snored so much. I guess I shouldn't complain though I did sleep for three weeks straight.

I am so anxious to just go home though and I want to spend time with my baby girl. I can't believe how perfect she is.

Zane rolls over and I see his eyes slowly open. "Good morning beautiful." 

"Good morning. I'd ask how you slept but I think I know the answer."

"Why?" He stands up to stretch and he shows off his morning wood not ashamed what so ever.

That is until Dr.Sengrini walked in and Zane ducked back into the chair. "Come one man this is a hospital!" Dr.Sengrini exclaims.

"Pshhhh I just have to pee! I swear, scouts honor." Zane says and I silently laugh.

"Bathroom." Dr.Sengrini says pointing to the bathroom in my room.

"What you mean so you can see that I'm pitching a tent again?" Zane jokes.

Dr. Sengrini laughs and turns around to look at me. Zane uses that opportunity to run to the bathroom.

"Well Lucy. Sad to say, I'm discharging you today."

"What? That's not sad." I laugh.

"To me it is. You all have been delightful." Dr.Sengrini says with a smile.

Zane comes out of the bathroom with a grin. "Much better."

"Zane! Really?"

Zane laughs and takes a seat as Dr.Sengrini finishes looking me over. He starts removing the IV and monitors.

"Alright go ahead and get dressed. I'm going to go get your discharge papers."

"Wooo I'm going home!" I shout a little too loud and Zane laughs.

He hands me my bag and pulls the curtain closed so I can dressed. He did pretty good, yoga pants, a loose fitting shirt, tank top to go under it, a bra and underwear anddddd FLIP FLOPS! I'd die without my flip flops. They are my life.

"Crap! I don't have a car here." Zane says smacking himself on the forehead.

"Are you serious?" I ask.

"Dead serious. I rode here with Ryder yesterday. Don't worry I'll text him to get us." He says pulling his phone from his pocket and quickly sends a text to Ryder.

A few minutes later his phone beeps. "Ryder's on his way."

"Ok I still need to be discharged. I wonder if they would care if I shower before leaving. Three weeks without a shower is rough."

"Jump in I'll let him know when he comes in, if he does before you get out. I brought your shampoo and stuff too."

I jump up and throw my arms around his neck. "I love you!"

He laughs and I strut into the bathroom dropping my gown to the floor and turning for him to get a peek at my breast as I shut the bathroom door.

The shower felt amazing and I'm amazed that Zane threw my body wash, shampoo, condition and shaver in the bag. There's a wash cloth in the bathroom so I help myself to it, crossing my fingers that it's not used.

After letting the hot water run over my body for a few minutes I then the shower off and grab the towel to dry off. I'm still sore from my c-section and the motion kind of hurts. It makes me kind of happy that I was in a coma because I can only imagine how bad the c-section actually hurt.

Slipping into my clothes slowly, trying not to strain where I was cut open, I manage to successfully get dressed. Making sure I didn't leave the bathroom a mess I stuff all my belongings into my bag and walk out brushing my hair.

Zane is sitting on my bed looking at his phone and I don't think he notices that I came out of the bathroom until he looks up and tells me that Dr.Sengrini came in with my papers and we can go when we are ready.

A nurse comes into the room with a wheelchair and says she will take me down. I insist I can walk but apparently it's hospital and insurance policy that they have to wheel the patients out as long as we are on their property.

I laugh to myself as I sit in the wheelchair and Zane grabs my bag. Zane sure got quiet after I went in to take a shower. I wonder why though. I look up at him and he just keeps walking with his head down looking at his phone.

"Honey what's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing. It's all good." He smiles.

We get to the exit and Ryder is waiting at the curb for us. Zane opens the door and sets my bag on the seat. He opens the passenger door and helps me in then shuts the door.

"Bet you are happy to see the light of day and breath fresh air." Ryder says.

"You know it. I'm starving though. Can we please stop for something to eat?"

"No we can't. We will eat at home." Zane says in gruff voice.

I turn around and look at him. "Why are you being so weird?"

"I'm not Lucy. We will eat at home ok?"

"Ryder stop the car and don't drive until he tells me what his deal is."

"Ryder go, Lucy it's nothing." Zane's says going back to his phone.

"Ryder please take me to get something to eat." I say disregarding Zane's instructions.

"Dammit Lucy! Why can't you just stop? Why can't you leave it as is?"

"Because I sure as hell don't like the way you're acting toward me. Either you tell me what's going on or can you find somewhere else to go when we get home."

"Lucy come on. It's seriously nothing. Ryder a little help here."

"Look I don't want to get in the middle of it."

"If you must know, the girls went and did a whole bunch of shopping for Luna. You got out a little sooner than we thought so they are scrambling to finish putting stuff away and organizing."

"That's it? That's all you've been hiding?" I ask.

"Yes Lucy." He answers annoyed. "They wanted it to be a surprise, so you better act surprised." He shakes  his head.

I put my head down. "I'm sorry. I just had a bad feeling, especially with the way you were acting."

"No your mom was just yelling at me over text, so I got frustrated. I'm sorry."

I don't say anything more and we just continue the ride home. I look out the window thinking about how he's acting. I don't know if I trust that it's just about them surprising me with baby stuff. He has the same attitude he had when he took off running because he thought Paul was blaming him for what happened to the bar. I don't know why but something doesn't seem right. Something had to have happened while I was in the shower. It makes me a bit nervous, but I hope he's telling the truth.
