A little over an hour later Dr. Green comes out with Lucy's scan results in hand. He has a look on his face that I can't read.

"Lucy is being prepped for surgery. Found that where we removed the tumor there was a leak that put pressure on her motor function for the right side and thinking that is what had caused her memory loss. We have to go in there and repair the leak immediately."

Rick stands up and walks toward the doctor. "What are the complications of this surgery?"

"The worst would be that the paralysis is permanent on the right side and her memory won't return. But we have high hopes that we will get in there make the repair and she will be good as new."

"Ok good, we will all be here when she gets out." Rita  says.

"You all may as well go get some rest and get something to eat. This could be another 3 hour surgery." Dr. Green says and turns to walk away. "See you when she's done." He waves.

"Well why don't we all go grab something to eat?None of us has eaten real food in a while." Rita suggests. "Lizzie you take Paul and Zane and your dad and I will take Jamie."

My stomach sinks. "I think I'm just going to stay here."

"Absolutely not you are coming. We need some air and food." Rick insists.

I stand up giving into the demands of them wanting my presence and dread what's to come from Lizzie and Paul. We all get on the elevator and head down to the garage, Paul Lizzie and I get off on the second floor and Rita Rick and Jamie go to the first floor. The minute we all get in the car Lizzie starts it and turns the radio off.

"Alright you need to explain something." She says to me.

"There's nothing to explain. I know who you are delivering for and I think you need to get out now."

"No that's not what I'm talking about Zane and I think you know what I mean. What's does Starlet mean to you?"

I think Lizzie knows. I think she knows exactly what I'm freaked out about. Ugh why am I stuck in this car having this conversation now?

"I think you know Lizzie and I don't think I need to tell you. I think you knew the minute I asked you about the nickname. You know what I'm talking about and you either keep on with this conversation so Paul knows everything too or we drop it right now. It's your choice."

Paul looks so confused and I feel it's already too late. He knows enough now and if we don't talk about it he will hound me later.

"I'm Todd's sex slave!" Lizzie blurts out. "Not only do I deliver drugs for him but I give in to all of his demands." She looks down ashamed.

"What the hell does it have to do with Zane?" Paul asks.

"Todd had a party and everyone was drugged up, Todd called out to two of his closest people and notice I said people not friends because Todd doesn't have friends. He has people."

"Still not understanding Lizzie."

She rolls her eyes and let's a huge breath of air out. "Todd pulled me into what he calls his orgy pit and instructed me to blow him while he instructed his two people to fuck me in the ass and one in my pussy."

Paul gasps and she continues. "His two people were Johnny and your one and only brother Zane. Zane refused, Zane said he would never do that to a woman as Johnny rammed his dick into my ass."

"She was screaming and crying as Todd rammed his dick into the back of her throat so hard she couldn't breath. So I punched him as hard as I could and drug her out of there. I wrapped my coat around her and pulled her out to my car, she fought the whole way and said he would kill her. She grabbed me by balls twisted them and ran off back to him."

"Holy shit! You are still with that shit bag?"

"You don't understand. Because of what Zane did I can't ever walk away again. That would end me. I would be dead and set on fire. The only reason Zane is free is because I begged Todd to just let him go. He got a new person minutes later."

"I agree with Zane, you need to end it now! He is sexually abusing you. Probably the money you make from deliveries isn't worth the poundings you get. What the fuck Lizzie? Why?"

"He will kill me!" She shouts so loud my ears ring. "He doesn't even want me here but because of what's happened he is backing off."

"Perfect you are here now, far away from that fuck and you don't need to go back." I say.

"The fuck I can Zane! He will fucking kill me!"

"No he won't. We won't let him." Paul says.

"Ha there's nothing you can do. Do you have something better to offer Todd in exchange for me? Maybe your sweet little ass so his boys could get off?"

Paul gives her disgusted look and turns his head away from her. He gets pretty emotional and this is probably the moment you don't want to push at him.

"That's what I thought. Like I said you don't understand. I should not have gotten involved but it all seemed to easy."

Lizzie has a solemn look on her face and continues the drive to the restaurant. Her phone rings and I see Todd flash on the screen. She answers it and let's the whole call play through Bluetooth.

So since you are on a hiatus because of your sister, I realized that I no longer need you. Jasmine has been more than happy to step up to the plate.

She listens silently and I don't know if there relief spreading across her face or if she's scared.

Just cutting ties don't expect their to be any punishment. By sweetheart nice knowing you.

The phone clicks and the line goes dead. There's always an agenda with Todd. I guess I'm going to have to reach out to Johnny. He will tell me what I need to know.

"It doesn't sound right, does it Zane?"

"Hey be happy he let you go, you're free and can now start over." Paul says.

"I'm calling a friend. He will tell me the scoop."

Heyyyyyy long time no talk. What's up Zane?

I need the scoop around there.

No. What's up with Starlet?

Ha Todd's kicking her to the curb. He fell in love with Jasmine.

Yeah man. Craziest thing ever. She even has him cutting down on the business.

I guess. Good for Starlet though. Glad she's finally getting out.

Lizzie let's out a sigh of relief as I hang up the phone.

"So she wrapped him around her finger?" Lizzie asks.

"Appears to be that. Just be glad and don't do anything that stupid again." I say.

Paul shakes his head and turns the radio back up. Ooooo I like this song! He bobs his head back and forth and clicks his fingers. Lizzie looks over laughing and joins in.

I laugh to myself and stare out the window until the restaurant comes into view. My stomach rumbles and I didn't realize how hungry I was.

Lizzie turns down the radio as we pull into the parking lot. "Please no one say anything about this at all! Please I'm begging you."

"Lizzie we won't say a word. But please keep yourself out of trouble. You don't need this." Paul says.

"I'm really glad I met you guys and Zane my sister has a good one so please treat her right."

"If she remembers who the hell I am." I try to joke and both Paul and Lizzie let out an awkward laugh.

We head inside and meet with Rick, Rita and Jamie and they are still standing in the lobby waiting for a seat. My stomach growls again and everyone turns around and looks at me laughing.

"See we did need to come eat." Rita says still laughing.

I smile and try to laugh but feel guilty about being here with everyone that Lucy loves without her being here too.

"So Paul where's Chris?" Jamie asks.

"He said he had some stuff going on and couldn't make it today. Not really sure what's up." Paul answers.

"Ahhhh, well maybe he has some romantic thing planned and he's working out the details while you are with us." Jamie tries to be positive.

"We shall see won't we." Paul smiles.

"Alright so we all could use a drink. Don't we all agree?" Rick says. "A round of beers?"

"I can't drink, but you all go ahead." I say.

"Why can't you drink Zane?" Rick asks.

"I'm an addict and trying to stay clean of everything." I explain.

Ricks brow furrows and I find myself in a very uncomfortable stare from him. "Well isn't this just grand? My daughter dating an addict."

"With all do respect, I'm not who I used to be and don't plan on ever going down that path again. I had a bad time in my life and now I'm turning it around for the better and part of the better is Lucy and I will keep improving myself to be better for her. I promise that."

"Well cheers to that Zane!" Rick salutes.

We all order and share and appetizer mixed of breaded pickles, cheese sticks and beer cheese and pretzels. The appetizers were delicious but now I'm not so sure I can eat my food I ordered.

We talk about Lucy going back to Rick and Rita's and I plead for them to let her stay and promise to take care of her. I will for sure there is no doubt in my mind. I could see myself marrying this girl and having a family with her. The family I've always dreamed of. First things first though she needs to get better. 

After about a half hour the food arrives and we all dig in talking some more in between bites. suddenly I get a feeling and it's not a bad feeling it's a good feeling for once and it feels like everything will be ok. Lizzie says that she may pick up and move here to be closer to Lucy and asks if she does will Jamie come too. Rita seems saddened by the news buts knows her girls are growing up and will have to deal with that. This turned out to be a great night and will be even better once we get Lucy home.
