Disappearing Again
My phone buzzed.
I picked up,"Hello?"
"Kristene? It's mom. I need you to come home. Your father just passed out on the floor. I don't know what happened." My heart skipped a beat.
"Okay, um, just remain calm. Call 911. Judah knows what to do. I'm on my way." I hung up.
"What happened?" Benjamin asked.
"Dad. He passed out. We need to go back."
"But he said...!"
"He's unconscious. I don't think he'll care." I said, interrupting Benjamin.
We hurried to my parents house. When we got there, the ambulance was already there and the paramedics were loading my father into it. Benjamin and I jumped out of our cars.
"What happened?" I asked Joseph, running up to him.
"Dad was yelling at mom," he started to explain. "We got all the kids upstairs, just in case. Judah heard dad start to scream at mom and we ran downstairs, telling Rachel to stay with the kids. When we got there, dad was about to hit mom, and probably not for the first time. Judah grabbed dad's hand, but dad hit him with his other hand, which I grabbed. After a minute, he just dropped on the floor."
Once Joseph had finished, the ambulance was on its way. We went inside to see Rachel hugging my mom, who was crying. A couple of the teenagers were at the top of the stairs, waiting to come down. Joseph told them they could and all the kids came downstairs. I went over to my mom, and she latched onto me, which I didn't have a problem with. I knew this was hard. I held her.
"Kristene," she said,"I have something to tell you."
"Go ahead, mom," I said, as kindly as possible.
She told me that dad had been drinking a lot more in the past year and this happened a lot. The doctors had given him prescription drugs for his addiction, but he rarely took them. I was shocked, but I knew that dad was like that. Sadly, a few days later, dad died in the hospital. Everyone went to the funeral, and I knew I couldn't stay. I left. I didn't say anything to anyone. I just packed up and left in the middle of the night. Benjamin called my cell phone several times, but then I just blocked his number.

The video is Katharine (Kristene) and Cary Grant. I wanted to show you come of her and here she is. This is her in the film Holiday. It is a movie that is sitting on my shelf but have yet to see all of. So, I have now showed you both a little of Nick (Benjamin) and Katharine (Kristene) as I wished to. I hope you enjoy the rest of my story.
