Termae's most prominent religion-- if you want to call it that, given that there is no doubt they do exist in this world-- is that of the nine gods. They have other names or titles, but for now I'm only listing those given to them in the language of merchants, given that those are the only names currently being used in the series. Hope this refresher on their names helps you keep track of them in the book.

Some notes:
*It is said that the gods cannot have children, and so they each created a race of reborn humans that acted as their family, their friends, or even their helpers. It depended on the god what their reason for saving the first human was, and what their treatment of the race that followed became.
*Inna and Umae are partnered. Legends depict them as a loving couple when Inna is willing to stay in one place. Legend says the weather at sea is at its worst when she has disappeared from Umae's palace.
*Taisol, Aion, and Koun are partnered, although typically stories only include Koun with one of the others, and not Aion and Taisol together.
*Doroi and Shinnah are partnered. They are the gods most known for distancing themselves from humans. It is said that the only time they leave the Land of the Gods is to attending a ceremony, or to curse/bless someone who has angered/pleased them.
*Legend says Eiyuuk is partnered with the first hero ever created. Not much is known about their relationship, except that their status changes like the wind. Eiyuuk is also known for changing her appearance as it suits her, and for disguising herself to adventure among unknowing humans.
*As Kikin is neutral in all paths of life, it is said that they are asexual, and aromatic. It is unknown whether that is true. Kikin is also said to be agender. The pronoun used to refer to them changes based on the follower's preference.
*The Fates are beings that exist outside of the gods and typical life. They are said to have originated as humans that were accidentally affected by Koun changing their mother into a witch doctor while she was unknowingly, newly pregnant. Some view them as nightmares. Their power is rumored to match Koun himself. This has never been confirmed, nor denied, by the gods.
*Some things that the gods are known for:
Koun is known as the god of tricksters, thieves, and doctors, just as Umae is known as the god of sailors, and Taisol the goddess of mothers. Inna is known as the goddess of women, artists, and scholars. Eiyuuk is called the goddess of the traveler, and finally Kikin is known as the god of warriors.
*A final, personal note, Shinnah and Doroi are not lacking a third domain. It is just that I haven't settled on a final domain for the two gods, and therefore am waiting until something fitting pops up to flesh out their abilities. This detail will likely have no effect on the Fated series, so I haven't pushed it. This also goes for Doroi's creations.
