Chapter 1: Anger
Of course, it just had to be me, out of all mermaids here. Appearing unconscious to the others, they have no idea what is going inside my head. I just wanted to go on adventures with my friends, and my sister ugh. "Just why did you decide to take control of my mind, specifically?" Sabrina gave it a thought, but took so long doing so.
"Maybe I was bored, I don't get to have much fun in the world where I live," she stated.
"Really?! Just a lame excuse, because you were bored?!!!!" I was so irritated by her answer. She made me so pissed, I just wanted her to get out of my head already, I couldn't take it any longer. The harder I tried to resist, the headaches would get worse, it was useless. After my thoughts had passed, I let out a heavy sigh, "Just...don't talk to me right now, I need to think." Sabrina gave me a dirty look, then moved her body, facing the opposite side from me. Starting from the time she took over, to now...I couldn't think of anything to do to help myself in this situation. My mind became blank once again, everything around me turned into a faraway space land.
I was so frustrated by the facts that I wasn't able to talk to anyone from the outside, Sabrina had full control over my body and it's movements. There are things that I still need to discover, and I can't help it that I'm just a curious half-human being. Then I started thinking about all the things I could be right here with me, like the shell I used to wear around my neck. If I had that with me, that'd be great, but of course that'd just be stereotypical and I doubt Sabrina would make it that easy. "Agggghhhh, JUST WHY?!" oops.... Maybe that was a bit too loud, but then again, I'm in this space that no one would care about in the first place. I started mumbling to myself without thinking, "What would my grandparents do, I wonder? Maybe, a spell?......Maybe not." My head was hurting so much, I just needed to take a moment to breathe.
"Hmmmm, it doesn't look like your strategy is working very well Caterina," she gave the most annoying tone and smile, I just couldn't bear it anymore.
I placed my hands down on the ground forcefully in front of her, "SHUT UP!!!!!!" Automatically, without my control, purple flames burst in lines and caused some pretty serious, and heavy damage towards Sabrina. Her whole body was burned and was frail laying there, but I could tell from her glowing eyes that she was definitely not over with.
~ From the outside~
All my friends... and my sister, seemed like they were looking for something important, but I wasn't paying attention, so I didn't know what was trying to be found. At the same time, the purple flames from before spread from the inside of my body to make a high wall like barrier on the outside of my body, all of them jumped. "We need to find it, as quickly as possible, now or something bad will happen," Cassie exclaimed something I didn't understand. She seemed to know something that the others didn't know about, but she wouldn't tell them what it was.
"Aha, found it," Cassie startled the others. They jumped so high off the ground, and looked serious at her. Me, on the other hand, I was so confused, all I saw was Cassie holding a really old red book with fancy gold patterns that looked like vines on it. Wait, what am I on, it looks like I'm looking up at them from their feet, am I on the ground?? I looked at my surroundings, but Sabrina interrupted.
"Girls, why am I on the floor? Also, what are these marks on my body and the floor?" Since neither of the unconscious ones knew what was going on, we may have not realized that we may have fainted again from the frail connection of control. There were black lines covering my whole body, and a weird looking pentagram on my forehead, as well as on the ground around me. Then Cassie looked at a certain page in the book, and started chanting something, I didn't understand it at all.
"Kono akuma o chushutsu suru koto ga dekimasu," she chanted this over and over again, what language is this, it's crazy!? Right as she said that, the purple flames attacked again from my body, but I didn't do anything to trigger it. Then, I started to mumble the same sentence she did, because I was very curious about what it meant, and wanted to remember it just in case it meant something and was useful in the future. I looked at my hands, they started to vanish, I was freaking out, " What the heck is this???!!!! Sabrina, explain!!" My voice reached to my consciousness and they heard it too.
"This is good, keep going, the demon will be extracted soon," Cassie blurted out. All of their eyes lit up and mine did too, what did she mean by that, what demon was she talking about? I didn't even have a chance to ask Sabrina, I was vanishing quickly to the point where I couldn't talk anymore in the space land. It felt like I was drowning, I couldn't breathe at all for a long time. A second later I could die from it, then my eyes opened and I was gasping for air.
