Epilogue
To say that many battles had taken place in the land of Albion was no exaggeration. Much had been lost in the former kingdom of Camelot, which had seen its time of greatness, but was now part of the yet greater kingdom of Albion. It was not uncommon to see conjuring tricks in the markets or magicians who could enchant the minds of little children as they performed their magic. This was the view that could be seen from the great citadel of Albion. The viewer was a small boy who had climbed up on the railing to gaze out over the city. He had crystal blue eyes and brown hair that was waving in the wind. Footsteps neared him and the little boy smiled at the sight of his father, the king. The father took his son into his arms and smiled back at him.
"Do you think uncle Merlin can do such tricks, daddy?" the little boy asked. "I'd like to see him create fire!"
His father chuckled lightly. "I think he can do anything, my boy, if you just ask. He will be joining us for dinner tonight. You can ask him to perform a trick then."
The boy's smile widened. "Do you think mommy will like my new fighting skills? I can do so many things with my sword now, Gwaine has taught me something really amazing!"
"I'm sure mommy would love to see that, Alfred," his father answered. "But we have to go now. Gwaine, Percival, and Cedric promised to ride with us to the lake."
The boy's eyes lit up. "Can we swim, please, please?" he asked, tugging at his father's robes.
"We can," he promised, putting his son down as the boy shrieked happily. "Come on, my son." Without hesitation, Alfred grabbed the hand of his father and they descended the hill to meet the three knights who were waiting for them with an extra horse.
From afar another man was watching them. He was smiling at the sight of his king and prince. His name was Merlin and the destiny of not only the kingdom of Camelot, but also the destiny of the land of Albion, had rested upon his shoulders for many years. Now, it was entirely up to Alfred and his father, the great King Arthur Pendragon, to determine the fate of this great land.
