epilogue
3rd POV
Amara Rodriguez is in her bed tossing and turning with small whimpers leaving her mouth every so often and a few tears escaping from her closed eyes. She's dreaming about the horrible and traumatising events that happened before she came to Camelot. Amara suddenly wakes up with a loud terrified scream jolting up in her bed looking around frantically, her breathing laboured and her Dazzling fragile green eyes filling with unshed tears. Morgana enters the Princess's chambers and runs towards Amara that is sitting up in her bed scared and breathing heavily. Morgana gives the girl a sad sympathetic look before walking towards Amara slowly as to not scare the Princess, knowing how she still believes that she's in her dream and trying not to make her more afraid or do something that might get her hurt.
"Amara.." Morgana says gently, the Princess snaps her head towards Morgana's figure causing her eyes to widen in fear.
"No, no." Amara says to herself tearing up at the sight of Morgana.
"Its ok, Amara. Your safe." Morgana says tentatively stepping closer to her, which was a bad decision.
"No. Get away from me." Screams Amara absolutely terrified.
"Its ok, Im not going to hurt you." Morgana says keeping her distance.
"Get away from me, please. Just let me go." Screams and shouts Amara moving towards the back of her bed in fear. Some of the guards and knights hear the shouts and screams from the Princess's room and run towards it, once they get inside they see Morgana trying to calm the princess down and trying to reassure that she's safe.
"Princess Amara." Sir Leon asks walking towards her and kneeling on the bed worried and concerned for the Princess's wellbeing.
"Are you ok?" He asks starring at her.
"Get away from me." She shouts and starts throwing things across the room and at Sir Leon scared for her life and replaying the flashbacks in her head. Sir Leon quickly tries to stop the princess from throwing things at everyone in case she hurts herself. He holds Amara to his body holding her arms down.
"Let me go, please let me go." Amara screams, looking at sir Leon, but in her POV she's seeing someone completely different. She's seeing the man that caused her suffering and pain, that is the reason she's having these very vivid dreams.
"Princess, its ok. Its me and Sir Leon. Your safe." He says trying to reassure her but instead she gets one of her hands out of his grasp and hits him in the face quite hard, but he still keeps ahold of her. While Sir Leon is trying to calm down and break her out of her trance like state, Morgana ran to Arthur's chambers and is telling him what's happening right now.
"Arthur." Morgana screams barging in Arthur's chambers seeing him soundlessly sleeping in his bed.
"Arthur! Wake up!" Morgana says stalking towards the Prince, he opens one eye looking and seeing Morgana in front of him with a massive frown on her face and a hand on her hip.
"What is it Morgana?" Arthur asks frowning annoyed at Morgana for waking him up as well as walking into his chambers without permission.
"Its Amara." Morgana says, which makes Arthur wake up instantly and get out of bed.
"Whats wrong? Is she ok? Did she get hurt? Morgana what is it?" Arthur basically screams at her shaking her with his hands extremely worried about her.
"She's having another nightmare, she's awake but no one can break her out of it and she's currently throwing things at everyone in the room." Morgana explains quickly, making Arthur's eyes widen and he runs to Amara's chambers as fast as he can humanly go with Morgana a few meters behind him, Arthur bursts into the bedroom seeing the scene unfold.
"Princess, please your have another nightmare. None of what your seeing is real." Sir Leon says softly trying to get her out of it but nothings working.
"No, let go of me." She shouts and hit him with something sharp drawing a tiny bit of blood on his cheek. Arthur see's the situation and quickly rushes towards Amara and wraps his arms around her making Sir Leon let go of the Princess.
"No, no." Amara screams thrashing around in the persons arms.
"Amara, hey, hey. Its me, Arthur. Your safe. No ones going to hurt you." Arthur whispers in her ear softly, she stops moving.
"Arthur?" She asks looking into his eyes and looks at everyone in the room and what she's done.
"Im so sorry, I didn't- I..." Amara says trailing off looking around her before tears cascade down her face.
"Shh, its ok, Amara. Hey, shh its ok. Your safe now, nothings going to hurt you." Arthur holding her to his chest.
"Im so sorry, Sir Leon. I thought you were..." Amara trails off not being able to say their names.
"Its ok, Princess. Im just glad your alright." Sir Leon says dismissing it, Morgana lights a candle in the room so its not dark.
"Morgana Im sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." Amara stutters while sniffling with tears still falling down her beautiful face.
"Its ok, Amara. Its not your fault." Morgana says sitting on the bed and hugging the traumatised girl rubbing her back in comfort before Arthur takes Amara in his arms again, making Morgana smile at the action.
"Why don't you lay down, Amara." Arthur whispers to her setting her back in bed and draping the covers over her body. King Uther then walks in the room seeing that things are across her room and that Sir Leon is sporting a cut on his cheek and then he sees the fragile girl in bed with Arthur sitting next to her caressing her hair.
"Is she ok?" He asks worried about the Princess.
"She is now." Morgana answers softly as to not startle her. Uther looks over and see's Amara and Arthur's interaction.
"Can you sleep with me tonight?" Amara asks quietly and gently still afraid.
"Of course, sweetheart." Arthur says softly moving under the covers next her with her curling up to him almost instantly with his arms wrapping around her body pulling her flush against him holding her close to him and giving her head a quick kiss. Uther gives them a fond smile of approval and love before ordering everyone to leave them alone. Morgana walks back into her chambers closing the doors knowing that she won't have another episode tonight as long as Arthur's sleeping next to her, she gives them one more smile before walking into her room and going back to bed.
"Are you ok?" Arthur asks her curious and concerned.
"No." Amara answers honestly looking up at him with her green eyes locking on his blue ones.
"Your safe now, Amara. As long as I'm here I won't let anything hurt you dream or reality. I will always be here for you." Arthur tells her easing her nerves and fears, at least for now anyway.
"I'll be right here, you can go to sleep. I promise I won't leave you." Arthur promises her and so Amara slowly falls to sleep without any nightmares or flashbacks in her mind, all because of one person. Arthur Pendragon.
