Merlin POV

I ran to our chambers in the hope that Gaius could give me some answers. As i was running back in the direction of our chambers i could hear a large crowd of people gathering around the corpse. I picked up my pace, i wanted to get back as quick as possible. I broke out into a sprint, it didn't look too suspicious as everyone knew that i ran around for Arthur all the time. I reached the safety of my chambers and sighed in relief.

"Merlin, are you ok?" asked Gaius, a concerned look on his face.

"No, not really." i admitted.

"Come here." reassured Gaius, pointing to the chair. Gratefully i sat down and Gaius sat down opposite me.

"Now then, what's the matter?" said Gaius

"Well, i don't know how to say this..." i wavered, tapping my feet nervously

"Come on Merlin, you can tell me." smiled Gaius, encouraging me to speak.

"I-i-i turned into an animal, a wolf to be specific, a-a-nd i killed someone!" i cried putting my head in my hands, "Does this make me a monster?" Gaius enveloped me in a hug

"Merlin, do not worry yourself. You are not a monster. Believe me." said Gaius. He grabbed a large leather bound book from his expansive bookshelf. He turned a couple of pages and then stopped

"Human's have been known to be changed into wolves. They either get passed the wolf gene from their parents however sometimes, in rare occasions, a person can be bitten and they to can be turned into a wolf. However, being bitten takes longer for the genes to take the full affect. The proper change happens awhile after the subjects 21st birthday. That is when they will become half man, half wolf." recited Gaius. I sat with my mouth wide open. This confused me so much

I sighed deeply "I'm going to have a rest."

"Ok, Merlin." replied Gaius, his eyes wretched with Empathy. I stood up and wandered over to my room, shutting the door behind me. I slumped dowm onto the bed and it didn't take long for me to fall asleep

Will and i had never walked this far away from Ealdor before, i was beginning to get worried. "Don't worry Merlin, you'll be fine!" laughed Will. I smiled and chased Will through the woods. We must have taken a wrong turn because we soon reached a foreign area. Everything seemed to get darker, the trees were closing in and it was deathly silent. There was a crack in the bushes and i began to worry a whole lot more.

"Will... we need to go - now." i urged, "Will?" I turned to see Will pointing scaredly. I heard a low growl behind me. I turned around to see a wolf, it's teeth were bared and it's ears were flat back. Will and i began to slowly step back. However we were soon surrounded. Then suddenly, the one infront of me launched into the air and soared down onto me. I tumbled to the floor, the wolf on top of me. I snarled loudly and plunged it's teeth into my shoulder. I let out a large scream of pain

"MERLIN!" shouted Will

"ARGHHHHH!" I shouted with so much power and force, my magical instincts taking over. The wolved flew back and whimpered in pain and fear.

"Leave him." said one of the wolves,he spoke? The wolves turned around and scampered away, i began to shake on the floor, and then i blacked out.

I woke up suddenly, breathing heavily, beads of sweat running down my face. It was just a nightmare, except it wasn't, it was a memory. A memory that i had decided to forget, but the truth was un avoidable. He was the wolf that had changed me...

I had a sudden EUREKA moment to write another chapter thanks to Triquetra123 :) Sorry the update was a bit short but i have all the chapters planned out now. Also, just like to say that this won't be a mega long fanfic but hopefully thag shouldn't matter. Thank you to EVERYONE  who voted and commented on my last chapter, as it means a lot to know that you're enjoying my book!
