Hiccup's POV

"Now announcing Sir Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third of Berk" the man boomed.

Well that was a mouthful I thought. I came down the entry way down the stairs. Everyone's eyes staring at me. And not to say that I'm bragging or interested but I swear I saw a young lady wink at me! Well this is definitely a change from Berk.

I finally made it to the ballroom floor when I heard the loud announcer say 

"Now presenting Princess Merida Dunbroch!"

I turned to see the young woman with flaming hair smiling at me wearing a blue gown that matched her eyes. She was Merida just more dressed up then I was used to seeing her the only thing I could manage to say was wow!

"Well I'm glad to see you like me in my more appealing outfit." She said.

"You look beautiful in anything," I started blushing.

"Hiccup, you're a little charmer aren't ya!" She said and kissed me on the cheek.

The king and queen were introduced, both of them eyeing me and Merida.

"Let the dancing begin!" said the king

"Oh no, dancing.......Merida I'm not really....." I said

"Calm down just follow my lead." She whispered.

She took my hand in hers and dragged me to the dance floor.

We began waltzing and it literally took all my concentration not to step in her foot. I started to let go of my fear as the music became more festive we started clapping and spinning and it was really fun.

"Alright! Lets begin the feast!" Yelled the king!

We came to the a very long table I was seated next to Merida and across from her three younger and mischievous brothers. One who kept making faces at me, which I returned of course making mer!da and the boys laugh.

"So Hiccup Merida tells us that you're a prince of a Viking clan!" The queen said.

"Yes my father was chief until his unfortunate death two years ago."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear about that!" The queen said apologetically

"Don't be, he died a hero saving his land from invaders." I said

"That's a proud thing to do lad!" Said the king

"Now Hiccup have you and Merida figured out living arrangements." The queen said.

"Mother!!!!!" Merida yelled

"What?!?! If you're going to be married you'll have to figure where...."

I choked on my drink when she said marriage. I mean this soon! I really like Merida.... In fact I really like her..... In fact I may even...... Nope I do I'm in love with her. Maybe marriage shouldn't be an untouched subject.

Merida did not seem to agree with my thoughts.

"Mother that's enough ! You've embarrassed me I front of Hiccup and the kingdom!" She yelled she than got up and stomped away into the hallway leading to her bedroom.

"I'll get her." I said.

I got up and walked down into the hallway and knocked on her door.

"Merida open up it's me."

I slightly opened the door seeing nothing but her, dark, and yellow eyes.

Oh no......Pitch

I open the door and ran in quickly.

"Ah ah ah" said Pitch tighting his grip on Merida.

Merida tried activating her power to burn people with her skin but it seemed to have no effect on him.

"Silly girl the pain of fear is more powerful than your burn" he said

"Let her go!" I said.

"Hmm how about we make a little deal."he said

"I'm listening." I said

"I'll give you her for you disarming and disowning your powers."

Merida's POV

"Hiccup don't!" I said as pitch tightened his grip.

"Or I could just use my powers to stop you." Hiccup stated.

"Yes I guess you could but this is a pretty tight space you wouldn't want Merida getting hurt by your own powers would you?"

I saw the pain in Hiccup's eyes.

"Fine, I will give up my powers for her safe return."

He then threw me on the ground and put me under a frozen spell so I couldn't move. He put his hand over Hiccup's heart and out came gold dust which pitch put in a little vial. Hiccup crouched over like he had been hit with a sledge hammer.

"Alright now release her." He said.

"I don't think so she's to precious of a prize!" Pitch said.

He then carried me off and the last thing I saw was Hiccup trying to reach out for me.
