Prom part 1

Thanks to Niallhoranlovesme943 for the request!!!

Being a high school senior was pretty much a joke. Literally all you do is go to the five classes you have and apply to colleges and wait for them to answer while having an after school job. Senior year was the year where the only thing kids had to worry about was getting accepted to their colleges and who to ask to senior prom.

Now senior prom was about two weeks away at Burgess High and high school seniors Henry Haddock and Jackson Overland still didn't have dates yet. Hiccup hadn't wanted to go at all ever since he broke up with Astrid in the beginning of the year.

Though Jack wasn't very discouraged though even when he found out his crush head cheerleader Rapunzel was already going with Flynn Rider.

"Jack can't we just not go to prom?" Hiccup asked while sitting for lunch.

"Hell no! Prom is what a senior looks forward to the whole year besides graduating. We have to go! Plus we told our group we're going." Jack said.

"Yeah but our whole group already have dates! I mean Aster's going with Thiana, Anna's going with Kristoff, and Norman's going with Coraline. Face it if we go people think we're each other's date." Hiccup replied.

"Hey I would be the best date." Jack retorted. "But still you're right. We still have time to find dates."

"oh really like who?" Hiccup asked.

"We could ask......Anna's sister and her friend..........oh what's her name."

"Merida Dunbroch." Hiccup said

"Yeah! Why not them?"

" You want to ask the Ice Queen and the Fire Queen.......to prom. Good luck with that." Hiccup said.

"Hey they're good looking ladies......they just have to be persuaded."

"No one has ever dared to even sit at the same table as them." Hiccup whispered. "Legend says you'll either freeze in place or explode. Listen I know one's Anna sister and we go over to her house all the time but have you noticed how we almost never see Elsa there?"

"Oh come on that's a bunch of crap they just need a friendly hello is all." Jack said getting up.

"Where are you going?"

"I think the proper question is where are we going?" Jack said dragging Hiccup.

"Jack no! No way I am not getting killed today." He said.

Jack was stronger than Hiccup though. He dragged the tall eighteen year old and sat him right at the girl's forbidden table. Jack sat next to Hiccup. Everyone's eyes were on them. It was true no one ever sat at the same table as the Queens of Ice and Fire. Elsa earned her nickname because she was known for not conversing with anyone except Merida. She was polite but often left a feeling of coldness and apathy. Merida was the complete opposite. If you were bothering her she wouldn't hesitate to tell you to knock it off. She was the one who mostly stood up for Elsa, besides Anna.

"Hello Elsa and Merida. This is my friend Hiccup and I am Jack." Jack said.

"We know who you are," Merida said. "So what are you doing at our table?"

"Just trying to make conversation, Merida." Jack said.

Eyes in the cafeteria were still glued to the infamous table. People were shocked that they had survived this long. Still wondering what was going to happen next.

"Would you all just get back to your damn lunches there is nothing to see here." Merida shouted.

Everyone went back to their business all though most still made side glances to see how the situation would take place,

"Hiccup say something." Jack whispered.

"I can't I'm frozen with fear." Hiccup whispered back.

"Listen it's nice you two are being....friendly with us but I think it's time you both should leave." Elsa said.

"Come on Elsa, we're Anna's friends for god sakes I've known you since fourth grade. Can't I just sit and eat lunch."

"They're not going to leave might as well make conversation." Merida said.

Elsa sighed.

"Now is this one going to talk or be frozen like an ice cube. I'm starting to think the rumors are true about us being able to freeze people with fear." Merida said.

Hiccup chuckled nervously. "Sorry I'm just really bad with uh talking."

"You seem to speak fine to me." Merida said.

The lunch visits went on for about a week. Elsa and Jack found out they had some in common. Elsa and Jack both skated at the same ice rink. He did hockey while she did figure skating. Even more shocking was that Hiccup and Merida were getting along more and more every day. He even went to her house after school one day. Hiccup was starting to worry though. Prom was in that week and he actually wanted to ask Merida but was completely terrified to do it. She'd be the type of person to flat out say no even if it was in front of tons of people.

Jack however was pretty confident. Jack thought about it carefully and knew not to ask Elsa in front everyone in a grand proposal. That would probably overwhelm her. He decided to go to her favorite place, the library. He knew she went their every Tuesday after school. So he made his way and brought a light blue balloon that had her name on it. He tied a note to it.

He went behind a bookshelf where he could see her reading a book studying for finals. Jack sent the balloon off hoping it would at least go near her. Once he did he dove behind the book shelf. He looked and the balloon was just behind her. "Dammit." He whispered.

"Elssaaaaaaaa" He whispered.

"Ellllllllllllsaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" He whispered.

She still couldn't hear him though.

"Hey Elsa!" He said loudly then dove behind the book shelf again right before she turned around startled.

She saw the balloon with her name on it. She took it in her hands and saw that there was a note attached to it. She opened the not and in big letters were the words: Will you go to Prom with Me? -Jack.

Elsa blushed and saw Jack coming out from behind the bookshelf. "it doesn't have to be a date If you don't want it to be I just thought it would be fun to go together....... So what do you say?" He smiled genuinely.

Elsa knew she should say no. That it's pointless to get attached to one another especially since they were leaving for college in almost a month. But the thought of him going through all that trouble and the way he was smiling at her. She just couldn't say no.

"Yes."

"Really?!" Jack said excitedly.

"Yeah, it should be fun. " Elsa said.

"Woo hoo!" Jack yelled as the librarian shushed him.

Elsa giggled a bit. "I'll see you after I'm done studying alright."

"Great see you soon Prom date." Jack said he went outside and began screaming about how she said yes as his whole group cheered outside the window of the library.

Now it was Hiccup's turn. He had planned it out something simple but still memorable. He was still nervous though. He had gotten her something kind of cheesy but hey cheesy worked. Hiccup ahd gotten Merida Dunbroch a teddy bear. That held a sign that read Prom? So he wouldn't face huge embarrassment if it didn't go well. He decided to place it in her driver's seat of her car. Merida got out of her last class and walked to her car. She saw the little teddy bear. She picked it up and looked around. At first she thought it was a mean prank until she heard her phone buzz.

"Did you see the surprise in your car?" Hiccup texted her.

"This better not be a joke Hiccup. I'm serious." She texted back.

"It's not." He said coming out from his hiding place. "Listen I wasn't even thinking of going until we started hanging out plus Jack's going with Elsa so it would be fun if we all went together."

"Then yes I will go to prom with you." She said.

"Awesome...so I'll uh pick you up at uh 8 on Saturday."

"That would be great." She said.

"Cool uh see you tomorrow."

"Hiccup, I just uhm I - thank you,"

"For what?"

"For asking me to prom.....even if you were incredibly cheesy" she smiled. "It was very sweet of you."

Hiccup smiled back "You're welcome."
