Double daters
"Are you sure this is normal? I mean going on a double blind date sounds kind of weird." Merida said helping Rapunzel with her hair.
"Oh come on Mer, it's just a double date."
"Yeah with two people neither of us know." Merida pointed out.
"Well Astrid said their very nice boys. They're from our school but they're a year ahead."
"Great......" Merida said
"Listen Mer, Astrid said these were nice boys and would be great for us. And you know how hard it is to meet boys. So cheer up, for me." Rapunzel said.
"I don't know what you're talking about guys ask you out all the time
"No they don't."
"Well they sure try." Merida says
"Well I'm tired of being treated as an item. I want someone to like me because of me and not my long blonde hair."
"Okay okay, let's see how it goes. Here you've got a loose hair here." Merida said tucking a little hair into Rapunzel's braid.
Meanwhile......
"Why did you agree to this?" Hiccup asked his best friend Jack.
"You really wanted me to turn down a date with two girls?" Jack asked.
"Well I would like to know who they are."
"We'll have plenty of time for that on our date." Jack said spiking his hair up. "Astrid said they were cute and this Merida girl is perfect for you she said."
"Uh huh I've heard of the famous sophomore. She's the girl that broke MacIntosh's nose with a soccer ball."
"That's what you get for breaking up with a girl two days before homecoming. Plus it was hilarious. I can't believe she just walked into our class soccer uniform and all and just chucked a soccer ball at his face."
"Great now I'm worried." Hiccup said.
"Don't be Astrid says she's nice if you don't piss her off,"
"Astrid says a lot of things." Hiccup stated.
"Come on we're going to be late, we're meeting them at the diner."
"They're late." Merida said,
"Relax they probably got stuck in traffic." Rapunzel said looking at her reflection in her compact mirror.
"What if they don't come?"
"They will." Rapunzel said closing it,
"You have way too much optimism in you."
"Says the pessimist." Rapunzel smiled. "Try to have a little fun on this date. I know it's been a while since MacIntosh but Hiccup seems like a nice guy."
"Exactly. Nice guys don't go for me...they....they think I'm intimidating." Merida complained
"You!? No.....you're just very honest about....your opinions."
"Thanks for trying Punze."
"Oh here they are!" Rapunzel said.
Walking into the diner were Jack and Hiccup. Both boys were tall and lean. Jack was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with blue jeans and a grey beanie while Hiccup was wearing a green collared shirt with a brown leather jacked and jeans.
"Well well look who got all dressed up for you." Jack whispered towards Hiccup.
Merida did look really nice Hiccup thought. She was wearing a grey sweater with a red scarf and jeans and boots. Instead of her usual t shirt and sneakers.
Her friend Rapunzel looked like she was a clothing specialist. With her pink knitted dress and leggings and boots.
"Hey girls you look wonderful tonight." Jack said.
"You guys look great as well. Come on and sit we're just about to order drinks." Rapunzel said cheerfully.
They got their drinks and mostly Rapunzel and Jack were talking. Occasionally Hiccup and Merida would glance at each other each not knowing what to say but not minding each others silence.
"Jack you play sports?" Rapunzel asked.
"Well I'm what I like to call a self trained athlete you see I'm so good that it just wouldn't be fair to let me on the track team." Jack said
"Yeah right." Both Merida and Hiccup said at the same time.
"Wooah they finally speak! And they both like making snide comments how sweet." Jack said.
"Shut up Jack!" Both of them said again blushing at each other.
"This is starting to get scary." Jack said.
"Stop saying what I say." Merida said.
"Me!? Stop saying what I say!"
"Alright children lets stop arguing and let's change the subject." Jack said.
"Okay well lets talk about how specially trained of a runner you are." Merida said.
"Okay so maybe it was a lie that I was too good for the team so it wouldn't be fair. But I am a really fast runner."
"That is actually true." Hiccup said "only when he's running away from dire consequences." He added.
"Hmm well prove it. Let's race." Merida said.
"Ha I would but that wouldn't be a dire consequence."
"Fine what would be?"
"Running from Mr. Bunnymund, Bunnymund has been dying to catch him in an act." Hiccup said.
"Let's go teepee Mr. Bunnymund's house." Merida said. "After you have to ding dong ditch and Rapunzel will go up with you to race." Merida said.
"You good with this Rapunzel?" Jack asked.
"Yeah it means I get to kick your butt and have you pay for a date." Rapunzel smiled.
"Deal. Let's go to the CVS. For some toilet paper." Hiccup said.
They had gotten the toilet paper from CVS and began walking to Bunnymund's in the cold January night.
"So Hiccup what do you like to do for fun?" Merida asked.
"Hmm well I like playing video games and fixing up old cars."
"Really?!" Merida asked.
"I know exciting." Hiccup said sarcastically.
"No, it sounds interesting not really the video games but the fixing cars sounds cool. What do you drive?" She asked.
"Black 57' Chevy."
"No way!! You're the guy with the old Chevy!!!!"
"Yeah the one and only." He said.
"Oh my god I like stare at your car every time I drive by it......I'm sorry that just made me seem like a stalker. I mean- I just- it's a really cool car."
He chuckled "I get it. But hey don't be selling yourself short miss 89' Cadillac deville."
"Ah so you've seen Angus." She smiled.
"You named your car?"
"Oh like you haven't?"
"Ok fine I call it the night fury."
Merida shivered from the cold. Her sweater did not keep her warm from the chilly air.
"Here." Hiccup said giving her his jacket.
"Oh no it's alright you'll be cold."
"Nah I'm used to the cold here take it."
"Thank you." She smiled and put the jacket on.
"Well looks like Hiccup and Merida are getting along." Jack said to Raounzel.
"Aw that's so cute he gave her his jacket." Rapunzel said.
"Well I would give you my sweatshirt but I don't have a shirt under this so I'll save us both the embarrassment of the image of my scrawny body." Jack joked.
"Thank you for being so courteous." She joked back.
"Although if you're cold." He said putting his beanie on her.
"There looks better on you anyway." He said.
"Thank you, so Jack do you do this all time pulling pranks?"
"Well yes most of the time. They're usually harmless but really fun." He said.
"Hmmm okay what's the best prank you've ever pulled?" She asked.
"Well that would have to be freshman year I when I glued a whole math class to their own seats."
"What how did you that!?!" Rapunzel asked in amazement.
"Well you see break was right before that so I snuck in and put super clear glue to all the seats but I had to do it really fast or they would all dry so I waited until the last minute and quickly spread the glue on the chairs including the teacher's and ran out of there as fast as I could. They all came in and sat in their seats while I watched through a window." He explained. "At most I thought at least ten students would get stuck before the glued dried bit I don't know how I did it but everyone tried to move from their seats and everyone was completely stuck!"
"Oh my god! I can't believe that!" She said
"I know! Hiccup was in that class by the way which made it even better." He laughed. "So what about you any pranks committed miss track star?"
"No this shall be my first one."
"Ooh a beginner this should be exciting." He said.
They came up to the house. Each with toilet paper in hand. They threw them over the roof and even over the trees. After half an hour they had run out of toilet paper.
"Alright let the race begin." Merida said. "First one from Bunnymund's to 4th street stop sign wins."
"Merida and I will text you when we get to the stop sign." Hiccup said.
The two ran over down the streets heading towards 4th street.
"Ready to lose track star." Jack smirked.
"Oh I don't lose Frost.....even when wearing my nice boots." She said holding his beanie so it wouldn't fall off while running.
*plink*
"Merida and Hiccup are at the stop sign." Jack said.
"Alright let's do this." Rapunzel said joyfully.
"Okay when I ring this doorbell that's when the race begins." Jack said.
They lined up on the porch
"One two three." Jack hit the doorbell and they went off.
Mr. Bunnymund made it to the porch just to see two figures in the distance running far ahead.
The wind blasted in their face. Rapunzel had to admit with motivation Jack was a fast runner but she still was even with him. They grew closer to the stop sign when Rapunzel thought of something.
Rapunzel ran and then did a front flip then a cartwheel ending in a back spring.
Jack was not expecting that and stopped in his tracks.
She then walked over to the stop sign.
"I win." She smiled.
"Not fair you distracted me!" Jack complained
"That was awesome!! How did you do that!" Hiccup asked.
"10 years of gymnastics and 3 years of cheer." She said.
"You never cease to surprise me Blondie." Jack said.
"Now as your punishment....."
"What?! That wasn't in our agreement."
"Well I made it now." She insisted.
"Fine what is it?"
"Loser has to pay for the next date." She said.
Jack smiled "I think I can deal with that."
Jack walked Rapunzel to her house.
"So you must like me." He said.
"What makes you say that?" Rapunzel asked
"Well there was an implied second date. Face it you've fallen head over heels for this prankster." He said.
"Hmm well maybe I just want more of your hats ever thought if that." She said
"How dare you! You only wanted me because of my great fashion accessories I feel so used!" He pretended to be shocked and hurt.
Rapunzel giggled. "Okay maybe I do like you...a little."
"Ha, I knew it. Well lucky for you I like you too...a little.....well...a lot."
She gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"Good to know." She smiled and opened her door.
"Goodnight Jack."
"Night. Same time next weekend." Jack said
"Sounds good."
Hiccup walked Merida home.
"I had a really great time." He said.
"So did I. I can't believe Punze was right but I did end up having a great time." She smiled.
"Oh your jacket here." She said handing it to him.
"Thanks." He smiled at her.
"Uhm I was wondering if uhm if you want to I mean... If you wouldn't mind going on another date next week or we don't have to label it if you're not into it I mean..."
Merida chuckled and kissed Hiccup on the cheek.
"Yes I would love to go on another date next week."
"Great!! Your great I mean that's great I uhm I'm
Just going to stop talking now." He stammered once again.
"Goodnight Hiccup." She said.
"Goodnight." He replied
