1 year later:

it was anika's birthday and gauri was going to make it special. she has missed her sister's birthday for so many years so this one had to be special. 

shivika's room:

anika was wearing a beautiful dress gauri gave her for her birthday:

gauri came in and blindfolded anika.

anika: arre gauri.....

gauri then signs rudy to come in and rudy comes in and holds anika's hand. gauri quickly goes out the room and rudy brings a blindfolded anika to the big room. 

anika: shivay? om? rudy?

shivay undoes her blindfold and anika gets showered with balloons.

all: SURPRISE!

anika was surprised and happy. just then she heard a voice on the stage:

voice: may i have your attention please?

anika quickly turns only to find gauri on the stage with a microphone. she was smiling and was looking so beautiful:

anika in mind: she has definitely taken after you mama. always so beautiful and full of surprises. let's see what she is up to now.

gauri: meri didi, mrs anika shivay singh oberoi is an important part of my life. we weren't together for 15 years during childhood because we had a scary past but when i got married to this family, i didn't know that anika oberoi was my sister, my real didi. i thought that she was my bhoojal but i never treated her like one. i treated her like a big sister and she treated me as a little sister. (anika smiles here) but a few months after my marriage, i got diagnosed with cancer, leukemia (anika gets a bit teary) and my didi was pregnant. her bone marrow was the only one which matched mine however due to her pregnancy, i refused to let her donate her bone marrow. i said that i much rather die than let her baby die. but meri didi.... meri didi show a true form of a big sister. when a little sister says no, the big sister never listens to that no, she does the opposite. meri didi donated her bone marrow. though this effected her, soon she got blessed with naira and i with chahat. a few days after i got better, i found out that anika didi aborted her baby and was my donor. yes, i agree i was furious but now i am pleased to say that i am very grateful for my cancer as then i wouldn't know that she was my real sister. i love you anu didi, happy birthday.

all was teary on that speech and was clapping. anika ran up to gauri and hugged her very tightly.

gauri: and one more thing?

anika: what?

music started to play in the bg:

gauri: Phoolon ka taaron ka, sabka kehna hai. Ek hazaaron mein meri behna hai. Saari umar humein sang rehna hai. Phoolon ka taaron ka, sabka kehna hai. Ek hazaaron mein....

anika: meri behna hai. Saari umar humein sang rehna hai. Phoolon ka taaron ka, sabka kehna hai

anika: chukti, don't be scared. didi is here. look these kids won't do anything to you at all.

gauri: anu didi, kids very mean.

anika: anu didi is here. oh you guys, don't bully my sister.

she throws her shoe and the kids go.

gauri: meri pyaari didi.

she hugs anika tight. the scene ends on gauri smiling and anika's eyes full of love.

aniri: CHUKTI/ANU DIDI!!!!!!!

finally done with this book. hadn't planned to do an epilogue but all requested me so i did. thanks to afrin (lwisyakhan13) for helping me on the idea of epilogue.

 remember that cancer will soon be defeated. in UK, we have this charity called cancer research:

this charity is well known in UK. it is also known as the world's largest independent cancer research charity. its goal is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer.

also remember anyone who has cancer, don't leave them alone, be by their side and tell them to be strong. 

i too know this emotional feeling when one is diagnosed with cancer. my nanu had throat cancer. doctors found out that he had cancer when my nanu was at last stage. i miss him so much.
