"Ok everyone listen up, we are going to work on some self defence drills, now could I have a volunteer please?" The teacher barked looking at us. Please don't pick, please don't pick me I thought crossing my fingers.
"Cassidy please could you come up." She said pointing at me. Reluctantly my feet started to move grudgingly walking towards the teacher.m
In the arena was a small section that was cut off from the rest which had training equipment and mats out.
"Ok your files say you know a bit of self defence, so attack me." She said calmly.
"What?" I asked confused.
."just attack me it's fine." She said shrugging.
I took stance wondering about what I was going to do and decided on a flying kick. Quickly I sprinted jumping into the air and sticking my foot up. To my suprise and horror she caught my foot twisting it around. Some people laughed as she kept twisting it for my own public humiliation but that just fuelled me my anger motivating me. Sneakily I flipped backwards, making her release my foot in the process. Half way through the flip I grabbed her shoulders pinning it to the ground.
"Point," she said smiling. I helped her up. "Now did everyone see that flip move that's important for self defence. I went easy on Cassie because I needed her to demonstrate that. And she is also the only one who knows any self defence."
Richelle glared at me and I faked smiled at her waving . I could see Jace smile at me, Jamie and Laurance fighting and Katelyn with Jeffory. This is my capture the flag team I thought. "Now get into groups of seven to nine for capture the flag so that I can get your teams" the teacher said and then there was a massive explosion of noise as people shouted At each other for them to go on their team. Some even asked me but I declined as I made my way towards my friends.
"So us seven?" I asked looking at them.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to survive without us." Jamie said grinning.
"Sure." Laurance and Jeffory said.
"Let's win this." Katelyn said slipping her arm through mine.
We got our team down and she then made us run some drills partnering us up with people who were closest to there ability and I got put with two people. Yay. *note sarcasm.* Jace and his friend who I'd never met before both took their stance waiting for me to get ready but I just stood there completely casual. They both looked at each other and then attacked. The other boy immediately ran towards me and I easily tripped him up with my foot. He went flying over me.
Now Jace is only left and he is standing there analysing my moves trying to find out what to do next. But to my surprise he does something completely unexpected and let's his fire balls loose sending them towards me. "What on earth?" I yell as I quickly duck out of the way. "Oh so it's gonna be like that." I say letting my electricity break free the energy flowing through me. I let loose a lightning bolt and it sizzles inches from him he immediately Attucks me and we become a flurry of fists and fire. He kicks me hard and I fly to the floor. Another fireball hits me it doesn't hurt to much but I am still attacking. Now everyone is watching us and I can feel their stares. Jace tackles me and we both fall to the ground him on top of me. His immense body weight makes it impossible to break free. He's grinning now and I glare back."looks like I win." He said smiling at me. I shut my eyes and feel the energy around me from the shield above. The dome of electricity sizzling ahead and suddenly all the energy pours down into one massive lighting bolt hitting me. Now I take my true form of light and dark. My body sparkling like the night sky. Immediately I rise away from him and tower over everyone. My hands are full of bolts as I stare down at them with black and white sparks of lighting. I send one down at Jace and he lurches backwards onto the ground. I pounce on him, pinning him down."looks like I've won." I said grinning at him. To my surprise he grins back and I help him up. "Well you two are quite entertaining." The teacher said smiling.
"I would like to see you, Jamie and laurance at lunch for the rest of the week." She said smiling."consider it extra training and detentions for destroying some of my equipment." Now I noticed that there were small fires in places with burnt mats and punching bags. Most of the students had left except for Katelyn and Jeforey.
"But we didn't do anything." Laurance moaned.
"Well you still need to be here, blame your friends." She said walking away.
Now Jamie and Laurance looked ver angry at us and I gave them my best puppy eyes which I must say were pretty good.
Eventually they faltered. "Fine.." They both said grumbling.
"Thank you." I said smiling.
"Wow." That was amazing Katelyn said running towards me and giving me a hug. "What no hug for me?" Jace asked playfully.
"You got your but kicked." Katelyn said laughing. "No hug for you."
Now Jace was grumbling about going easy on me. "Oh come one Jace I've done self defence before it doesn't matter."
"Yeah you're right I guess." He said grinning and then quickly lifting me up and dangling me by my legs.
"Hey put me down." I cried laughing.
"Katelyn help me." I yelled as she laughed.
"No way we're going to lunch, come on guys." She said holding Jeffory's hand as they walked away, with us following behind. Jace eventually put me down and all seven of us entered the cafeteria. It was packed full of people and every group sitting on a different table. There were the popular girls, the popular boys, social freaks, loner and the nerds. Even in a magic school you'd think that it wouldn't be so stereotypical.
I grabbed a sandwich and apple before sitting down with Katelyn and the boys at our own table. Some girls joined us and Katelyn introduced me."these are Cadenza and Lucinda." She said pointing out a girl with bright pink hair and blue eyes to be cadenza and one with dark red hair with brown eyes as Lucinda. "Oh hi I'm Cassie." I said smiling at them.
"Yeah we saw you in training. You were lethal." Lucinda said grinning. "I specialise in witchcraft and Cadenza is a faerie."
That completely confused me, since I was new to this world I didn't know anything about this."sorry I haven't really known about any of this and this world. I've been here like a week." I say and they nod.
"Well a fairy is someone who is close to plants and nature but can also fly and a witch is someone who can make potions and has a mild attack." Cadenza says explaining.
"Cool, so I got invited to this party by this guy called Evan." I say to all of them.
They all look speechless and even Jace is quiet.
"What?" I asked.
"You know Evans the most popular guy in school. His parties are legendary." Laurance said.
"Well then looks like I got you all invited to a legendary party." I said smugly.
"I'm coming." Jace said and the rest nodded.
"Cool, so he said it was at eight do you want to all meet up and then go?" I asked.
"Yeah how about by the woods and then we can head out to where it is?" Katelyn offered.
"Sounds good well time to go to magics." Cadenza said grabbing Lucinda by the arm and dragging her away, whilst she waved goodbye with a pleading look.
"Bye." I yelled whilst Katelyn laughed.
"So we should go then?" I asked to the rest.
"Oh yeah we take a different magics class from out grade and with the rest of the element users." Jamie said getting up and walking towards the exit. I looked at Katelyn as the boys half dragged me half carried me away."come to my dorm tonight before the party." I yelled at her and quickly clung to the door whilst Laurance tried to yank me away. But I wasn't letting go. Everybody stared but I didn't care. "At six." I yelled before finally giving up and letting Laurance and Jamie carry me away whilst Jace chuckled.
