Suddenly I shot up looking around. Next to me were Jamie, Jace and Laurance in the living of our dorm. All of us spread out on the floor. We were gasping, sweat pouring down me as I recap the events that took place. Immediately I feel the aches and pains from the dream. The boys still haven't woken up and now I'm really worried. I reach over and shake them. They don't wake up and now I'm really worried. "Guys wake up." I yell.
"Please wake up."
They don't budge and now I'm crying. What in there dead? I couldn't live with that. Even if I've just met them we had become friends and that dream had made a bond through us. "No, no, no, no...." I say leaning down on them shaking each one vigorously.
"You guys can't leave me, not now, please I'm so sorry. It's my fault please don't be dead, I shouldn't have pushed you." I stammer crying, loudly.
"Five more minutes." Jace says turning over. Immediately I shake him hard and his eyes open as he looks at me. "Oh shit your alive, don't you ever try to save us ever again!" He starts to say until I cut him off placing my lips on his. He immediately stiffens up but I don't care. He's alive, actually alive! Slowly he relaxes and kisses me back so for a while we're just there. Suddenly someone coughs and I turn around to see Jamie and Laurance sitting up and looking tired and awkward. Without thinking I hug each of them knocking them over and kissing each of them quickly on the lips.
Now I bring them into a massive group hug holding onto them even though they complain. I didn't care. they weren't dead and now I was the happiest person ever. "Don't you ever scare me like that again." I say angrily but happy.
"Hey it's fine we're here now, but you can't ever do that again." Jamie said
"Agreed and don't try to save us if you will die." Laurance said.
"I'm sorry I couldn't watch you guys suffer I just couldn't bare it." I started to say until I'm surprised by Jace kissing me again. now it was my turn to be shocked. Yet I slowly relaxed and kissed back, completely forgetting that we were being watched. "Jesus get a room you two." I hear Jamie say and suddenly a fireballs come whizzing by his head hitting the wall inches away from his head. Then he mutters a very rude response and I hear Jace laugh after he pulls back form kissing me. I notice that we are both still standing up our faces inches away from each other. "Are you okay?" He asks me."I think so" I said looking at him. He was so much taller than me . I was 5'5 and he was 5'10 so I leaned up standing on my tiptoes to reach his face. "You know it's the first day of school." Laurance yells from his room. "What!?" I say freaking out completely and I start rushing around the room. "Thanks for ruining the moment Laurance." Jace yells angrily turning back to me with a smile on his face. "I guess we should get ready be done in ten." He says rushing off to his room.
Quickly I manage to take a shower, brush my teeth and throw on a white top, denim jacket and ripped blue shorts.
Luckily I'm the first one ready with my white rucksack stuffed full of books. "Jesus you're taking everything advanced." Jamie says staring down at my rucksack. Along with doing culture, heritage, training, magics and potions class we also do some mundane stuff like maths and science which are the only two I'm taking and both advanced. Let's just say I'm a bit of geek. "what geek would I be if I didn't take everything advanced?" I say waggling my eyebrows. Jamie and Laurance laugh both of them wearing jeans and t shirts. All of them are like 5'10 and I feel very small in comparison. They are all very muscular as well so they must work out a lot. My hair is crazy curling in odd places as I've left it down today showing off its long length. I'm only wearing a tiny bit off mascara and my golden brown eyes look slightly bigger than normal which matches my hair and my slightly darker skin tone. We all sit on the sofa waiting to nine o'clock when we have to go to the hall for the introduction. "Damn I'm so tiny." I mutter to myself. No one was supposed to hear anything but Jamie and Laurance eye each other mischievously before grabbing me one of them holding my arms the other one holding my legs. They made carrying me seem effortless which I guess it kind of was as they swung me around. "Stop it." I yelled happily as they flung me in air and caught me easily. Suddenly Jace came out of his room and we all froze as he eyed us. His face looked like thunder and he opened his mouth ready for his attack. But he suddenly smiled laughing at our expressions. "Ha you should have seen your faces. Now what are you doing to poor Cassie." He asked looking at me mischievously. Help me I mouthed and he understood. "Hey toss her here." He said jokingly.
"Ok" Jamie said grinning. "Hey I'm not a fricking football. Aaaahhh!" I screamed as they threw into Jace's arms. He caught me easily and carried me in the bridal style. "Now isn't that better." He said looking at me. "Yeah." I said speechless. Slowly we both leaned in when someone started to groan. "Jesus flipping Christ can't you to get a room." Laurance explained completely grossed out.
We both laughed at that, and Jace put me down. "Ok we can go now." Quickly we made our way towards the hall, running outside and into the school building. There weren't to many there due to how early it was and we were the first in the hall claiming the best seats around two rows back but I still had to stretch right up to see over the other chairs and stage. And people were starting to fill in.
"Aww do you need a booster seat?" Jamie asked me mockingly.
That earns him a hard punch from me and immediately he surrendered. "Ok understood, lesson learned." He said in a high pitched voice. Laurance and Jace laughed so much because of that and were nearly crying when suddenly I heard a voice from behind me.
"Um excuse me your in my seat, please move." I heard a high pitched voice say. Ugh I've been waiting to meet this person there's one in every school. A fake blonde bitch who was arrogant no completely ignorant of people's hatred for her. I turned around to see a girl with blonde hair, blue eyes and wearing a pink skirt with a way to revealing top. She glared at me surrounded by other girls. Aahh I was going to enjoy this. "Well I don't see your name on it, so I'm going to stay seated thank you." I say faking innocence.
She immediately smiled at me but only with her mouth her eyes were full of spite. "Oh you must be new here you see, he is my boyfriend." She said pointing to Laurance
"What the... We aren't dating." Laurance said acting surprised.
She looks shocked and angry now.
"Aahh now that's cleared up you can move along now." I said staring at her calmly.
"I don't think so." She said holding her hand out a small vile was in it containing a ghastly liquid which looked like molten tar. "Now move or this will accidentally slip out of my hand." She says giggling evilly.
"Really?.." I say letting a ball of energy flare up in my right palm. It dances up my arm and I threw it and caught it like a tennis ball. She paled and stepped away. "Fine take the stupid seat, but this isn't over." She said turning around and leaving with all her friends following from behind.
I turned back around smiling happily. Next a girl around my height sat next to me with blue hair. "Cool hair." I said to her.
"Oh thanks, I can't believe you just stood up to Richelle morgenstern like that." She said unbelievably.
"Ha it's no biggy, trust me it's more fun on my behalf to mess with her." I said smiling.
The girl smiled back. "My names Katelyn what's yours?"
"Cassidy but you can call me Cassie and I'm also new here." I say.
"Really, cool we always need new people since so many have left and I specialise in telekinesis what's yours?"
"Um.., I'm not really sure but I can show you look." I said holding out my palm to show off the glowing orb of energy and in the other a small lightening rod which made small hissing noises.
"Woah.... That's impossible." She said looking at me. "Wait, what...." I began to say until I was interrupted by my aunt who started to give her speech.
The entire hall was packed full of people from thirteen to eighteen and there stood my aunt on the stage. As headmistress she gave the introduction and began her speech. "Welcome everyone to another year at Meredithe field academy. As you know our great school...." After that I started to zone out until I heard something interesting.
"This year we shall be holding capture the flag competitions for each year group which you all shall participate in, grade nine will have theirs tonight and only they may participate but you can come and watch if you want to. It will be hosted in the woods and you can devise yourselves into teams but the maximum amount is seven. Also we all know the hard times are school has gone through with the coming darkness." She said gravely."I would like to welcome Cassidy field, my niece and great granddaughter of the founder of this school to the stage."
Now I want paying attention to this and Katelyn had to shake me to wake me up. "You need to go on stage." She said quietly. Slowly I got up and made my way up. I heard some boys whistle and girls whisper. One boy whistled particularly loudly and was right next to Jace who immediately punched him which shut him up. I smiled at him thankfully and he winked back.
On stage my aunt handed me the mic and asked me to speak. "Um hello my name is Cassidy field but you can all call me Cassie. I haven't really known about this place long or any other thing to do with magic. But I would like to learn more about it here and not let mean girls or bullies or jerks push me down." I said glaring straight at Richelle who glared back. "Ok Cassie you can sit down now." My ain't said kindly."now everyone of to class.
