Capture the flag was going to be held in the woods but we had to go to the arena for a brief and to get ready. We were each given armour which depended on our team. Since we were the blue team we got blue armour and there were green, yellow and red teams as well. Next we were all made to line up and each of us were given a sword. "These are standard training swords, they would be pretty harmless except you are going to change them. Now focus on your power." The teacher instructed.
Slowly I focused on my power letting the hum of energy take over. Suddenly I looked down and gasped. My sword had changed now it was as long as my forearm and it glowed like my true form sizzling with energy. I looked over and saw my team staring at their own swords.
Cadenzas was wrapped in vines and covered in flowers, Jaces was ablaze and he grinned his eyes glinting mischievously. Next Laurence's one had a blade made of water and it swirled in the air, Jamie's was made of earth and metal, katelyn's was blue and it glowed.
Jeffory's was as rocky and made of stone and rock.
"This is gonna be awesome." I said grinning at my friends. The teacher took us into the forest and gave each of us a team leader and map. Jace was the team leader and he gave cadenza the map as she had the closest connection to nature so she would be able to find the best spot to hide the flag. There were strict lines over territory so you knew were you could hide your flag. "Ok on my mark... 3..2..1... Go!" She screamed and we raced off. I was the fastest so I took the lead. "Ok we need to head this way." I said.
"How do you know?" Jamie asked and I grinned at him.
"Trust me." I told him and he gulped
"Last time you said that you nearly killed us." He said scowling but he obliged and we turned right. Suddenly we came across a cave system.
"In there." Jace yelled and we all followed. It was dank and mouldy. Bits of mould and slime covered the walls as we ran further through guided by Jaces light. "Here." He said and we found ourselves at the end of the cave. "Ok cadenza, katelyn and lucinda I want you on defence since you've got the best powers for that. Laurence, Jamie and Jeffory you are gong to be scouting in one group and since Cassie and I are the two strongest we will be together." He said giving out orders. "Ok now here's the plan you three are going to signal us if anything goes wrong by using these." Jace said handing the girls strange rings. "Woah no way.." Cadenza said giggling. "Actual faerie rings these things let you become telepathic how did you get them?" She asked.
"Secrets,secrets." Jace said teasingly.
"Now boys you are going to have to go now and here are your faerie rings so go." He said and they all ran off.
The others had gone to get prepared and the girls were making plans for defence. "So it's just you and me?" I asked.
"Yep a night alone with yours truly. What a lucky girl you are." Jace said smirking whilst I gave him a glare
"Hey I was kidding now let's go we need to be ready." He said and we both ran outside with our swords ready for the adventure
