After getting changed into our regular attire Jace and I headed to the assembly hall. Crowds of kids came from ages of twelve to eighteen. Searching I spotted out group of friends at the front row waving for us. "There." I told Jace punting at them and making our way towards them. Well until Evan came up to me. "Hey I heard about the accident are you alright?" He asked me sincerely. It was sweet of him to care but I could feel Jaces hand cover mine holding on tight. "Yeah I'm feeling a little rough but I'll pull through." I told him attempting to smile.
He smiled back." Well if you ever need to talk I'm here ok." He told me inching a few spaces forward.
I heard Jace growl and pull me back slightly. "That sounds great I'll meet up with you soon." I told him as Jace dragged me away. I fought back and waved to Evan who just started back.
"Hey Jace stop ok." I told him taking back my arm.
"What he was getting way to close?" Jace said standing with his arms crossed. No matter how good damn hot he was I will not let him control me.
"Jace you've got to trust me I don't have feelings for him and if he has feeling for me then he's going to have to get over it because I like you." I told him smiling. He smiled back and we walked to our friends whilst the last people settled down. "Awe that was sweet." Katelyn said grinning evilly.
"Shut up." I said but she still grinned. Suddenly everyone fell silent as the headmistress entered the stage. My aunt looked just like me but had green eyes showing off her earth element. Rows of students remained silent as she walked to the microphone on the stage.
"Attention children. Thank you for coming I have some unfortunate news to tell you. Last night a fellow school mate, cadenza Mitchell had a severe accident which has led to her death. We are sad to announce this and know many of you will miss her." And just as she said that lucinda states tearing up again and Jamie leaned in to comfort her. Jaces hand found mine and we sat there holding hands.
"We will be holding a funeral next week on Monday for everyone to attend." She said giving everyone a minute to talk and the entire hall erupted. I could hear scared twelve year olds and furious teens yelling and swearing. I remained quiet as my aunts eyes locked with mine and we let silent messages pass between us. "Everyone I have more to announce. As you are all aware the turned have had a sudden growth in population and have been doing more activities. If you are not aware a turned is a purple blood transformed into a black blood. They are distinguishable by their pitch black eyes and blood. These are not part of our society and will not hesitate to kill you. Using forbidden magic their leader turns you into a lifeless zombie unaware of their actions and a need to kill. So for your own safety we are cancelling capture the flag and you are no longer allowed to leave the schools premisses." And with that she walked off the stage letting the hall explode into chaos. Many were shouting about how unfair that was whilst others were worried about their safety. My friends and I just stared at each other not sure what to do. "We should head back to our dorms." Jeffory said and we all parted ways so that katelyn, lucinda and Jeffory headed one way and the rest of us went the other way.
For the entire walk we remained in silence thinking about what was said. Sure I was a little scared but more angry. How could a person turn another human against their own will and make them become a lifeless zombie. I was fuming and I think the boys could sense it because Jace placed an arm around my shoulder pulling me towards him as we entered our dorm. His touch was soothing and I calmed down a bit slowly getting tired. "Ok guys I'm hitting the hay so night." Laurence said walking off to his room. "Yeah night guys." Jamie said walking off. So Jace and I just stood there in the sitting room.
"Do you want to sit for a bit?" Jace asked and I nodded so that we both sat down in the couch and I curled up to Jace. My head resting on his chest. We sat there not talking but in a comfortable silence. "You should get some rest." Jace told me.
"So should you." I told him smiling and closing my eyes. Quickly I felt myself grow tired and my eye lids began to drop as I closed my eyes feeling Jace's pulse slow.
