Chapter Three: The Prophecy
Chapter Three: The Prophecy
Everyone but Jay left, heading towards the sound of the explosion. "I'm not joking. We can take care of ourselves. We can fight! Let us help!" Zoey insisted. Jay shook his head.
"No. I'm not going to let any of you guys get hurt. Look, you don't have to leave the city. Can you at least," Jay paused, "I don't know, go to the dojo..."
"Dojo?" Genna asked, "I thought you said you had a flying ship."
"That was a while ago. It was destroyed. Now we have a dojo. Okay? Can you at least go there?" Jay asked.
"You mean the dojo on 9th and 12th? The one that's almost destroyed?" Lilyanna asked.
"Yes." As Zoey, Lilyanna, and Jay continued talking, Genna looked over towards the battle. The others were busy fighting the man and weren't really succeeding. He'd deflect every attack that came his way. Suddenly, he looked over toward Zoey, Lilyanna, Jay, and herself. He smirked and said something that Genna didn't hear. A glowing ball of energy came barreling towards them.
"Look out!" Genna cried, pushing Zoey out of the way. Lilyanna saw the ball of energy and instantly pushed Jay out of the way. The ball of energy zoomed past them and hit a building. It exploded.
"That's exactly my point," Jay remarked.
"Alright, we'll leave," Genna responded.
"Thank you."
"Come on guys," Genna added. Zoey and Lilyanna looked back at the battle, then followed Genna to the dojo.

"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said almost destroyed," Zoey commented once they arrived. The building's roof sagged above the doorway, making Genna a little concerned. Most of the windows didn't have glass in them, and some of the walls were missing some building material.
"What happened here?" Genna asked.
"A battle," Lilyanna replied.
"Okay...Let's head inside," Genna suggested walking through the door. The inside of the dojo wasn't better than the outside. There were holes in the roof, and an entire room filled with building material. "Hello?"
"Huh? Oh hello!" Someone called from another room.
"Who's that?" Zoey asked, "I thought everyone was at the battle..." A guy wearing a brown ninja gi and golden necklace walked out of another room.
"Hello! Welcome to Darreth's dojo! I'm the brown ninja, Darreth," He introduced.
"Hi," Genna waved, "My brother told my friends and I to come here..."
"Oh, you must be Genna! Jay told me you might stop by! You can hang out in this room for a while," Darreth moved his hand indicating a room to their left.
"ooh, a tv," Lilyanna chimed, peeking into the room.
"Have fun, I'll be trying to find my trophies if you need me!" Darreth turned heading back into the room he had just come out of.
"Wonder who hangs out here...." Zoey asked looking around.
"Don't know. Hey look videogames!" Genna stated.
"Are we just going to sit around and play videogames while the city's under attack?" Lilyanna asked.
"Yes, and I have dibs on first player!" Zoey marveled. Lilyanna groaned.
"Fine. Alright, hand me a controller." Zoey handed Lilyanna a controller and the two of them began to fight in the game.
"How do I do that?!" Lilyanna whined when Zoey did a cool move.
"Double Tap A and then press X," Genna explained. Lilyanna did what Genna said and her character Jumped then slammed down on the ground causing an explosion.
"Woah." Genna smiled, then left the room. She turned down a hall, and into an almost empty room. There were some bookshelves on the wall and a chair in the room. Genna slid her backpack off her shoulder. She unzipped it and searched through it.
"I could've sworn I brought a book with me..." Genna spoke.
"Hey Genna!" Genna looked back then stood up and headed to the room where Zoey and Lilyanna were.
"What?" Genna asked.
"How do I do this move?" Zoey asked.
"Up, Down, Up, Jump, Press X," Genna replied leaving the room again. This time when she looked in her bag for the book, she came across a scroll. "I didn't put this here." Genna picked up the scroll, and took it back to Zoey and Lilyanna. "Hey, pause it."
"Okay," Zoey paused the game and then looked at Genna.
"I found this scroll in my bag...Did one of you guys put it in my bag?" Genna asked unrolling it.
"I didn't," Zoey stated.
"Neither did I. What's it say?" Lilyanna asked.
"When the day comes that darkness rises once more, a promise will bring an age of justice, and when clouds roar with fury, a suspicious malfunction shall bring forth friendship and the restoration of the balance."
"What?" Lilyanna asked.
"It's a prophecy," Zoey explained.
"Prophecy?" Genna asked.
"Yeah, the most common examples are from Greece. Did you know there was a prophecy that predicted that a guy's grandson would kill him? So he trapped his daughter and grandson in a box and sent it to the ocean thinking that they died. But the grandson lived and participated in a discus throwing event and the discus went into the crowd and killed the guy," Zoey explained.
"Okaaaay....."
"What do you think this means?" Lilyanna asked peering over Genna's shoulder to look at the prophecy.
"Don't know, but we have to show my brother and his friends," Genna suggested.
