Five years later,

Kavin and Purvi were sleeping peacefully. Purvi stirred in her sleep when the warm sunrays fell over her face. She wrapped her left arm around Kavin's torso and hid her face in his chest. Kavin smiled in his sleep and encircled his right arm around her waist. His sleep got disturbed when he heard tiny footsteps against the floor. He turned around to the other side and before he could open his eyes, a little hand clasped his face. He scooped up a small body that smelled of doughy sweetness.

"Dadaaaaa...Good monning"...She uttered sweetly before climbing up his body.

"Good morning little love"...Kavin uttered before kissing her cheeks.

The baby girl smiled fondly and squeezed herself between him and Purvi. They both smiled and clambered to wrap their arms around her soft, petite body. But she was a harbinger of the morning. They instantly realised their mistake as she thrashed about, wreaking havoc on the small chance of remaining asleep. Kavin buried his face in his pillow, threw the covers over his head, but he was outnumbered. Their four-year-old bounced on the bed like a bunny, Purvi woke up and took her into her arms.

"Good morning Aadhriti (Meaning: Stalwart)"...She uttered with a smile and kissed her cheeks.

"Good monning Mammaaaaa"...Aadhriti greeted cutely after kissing her right cheek.

Kavin smiled at them and sat on the bed.

"Dadaaaaa...You want coffee?"...Aadhriti asked in her babyish voice before sitting in his lap.

Kavin laughed and nodded in no before kissing her forehead. Purvi smiled at them and recalled one of the most beautiful days of her life...

Kavin was out of Mumbai for an important mission, today he was returning back. And today only Purvi got to know that she was pregnant, she didn't call him or didn't message him about it as she wanted to surprise him with the news.

"Lagta hai Kavinji aa gaye!"...She shrieked in happiness as she heard the sound of the doorbell.

She got up from the sofa and went to open the door.

"Kavinji..."...She uttered after opening the door and looking around.

Kavin came in front of her and she hugged him happily. He smiled widely and hugged her back. After a while, he lifted her up in the air and twirled around in delight.

"Kavinji kya kar rahe hain aap...Main gir jaaungi...Put me down please"...Purvi uttered in fear while wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Are aise kaise gir jaogi jaan...Humne aapko girane ke liye thodi na uthaya hai"...Kavin said while walking inside with her in his arms.

Purvi looked at him and noticed that he was looking very happy.

"Kya baat hai...Aap bahut khush lag rahe hain?"...She asked with a smile.

Kavin looked at her and kissed her left cheek.

"Mission itna achchha raha kya?"...Purvi asked while touching her cheek.

"Mission to achchha raha hi...Lekin us se bhi jyada achchha hua hai kuchh"...Kavin replied while making her sit on the sofa.

"Kya achchha hua hai?"...Purvi asked while settling her saree.

Kavin: Wo baat tum bhi...

"Kavinji aap apni baat baad mein bataiyega...Abhi main aapko ek baat batana chahti hoon...Mujhe poora yakeen hai ki meri baat aapki baat se bhi jyada khaas hai, aur ise sunkar aap khushi se jhoom jaayenge"...Purvi said in sheer happiness after interrupting him.

Kavin smiled fondly after noticing the glow of happiness on her face.

Purvi: Kavinji aap...

"Main Papa ban'ne wala hoon...Aur tum Mammy"...Kavin said after interrupting her, his voice and his smile clearly expressed that he was over the moon. He had unearthed a greater joy than any he had ever known.

"Aap...Aapko...Aapko kaise pata chala?"...Purvi asked in utter surprise.

Kavin smiled but didn't reply to her question.

"Maine maa-papa, bhaiya-bhabhi aur papa ko to mana kiya tha aapko batane ke liye...Kyunki main aapko surprise karna chahti thi"...Purvi said sadly while fidgeting with the core of her saree.

"Mrs. Kumar aap shayad ye bhool rahi hain ki Dr. Manik mere dost hain...Aapko batane se pehle unhone mujhe bataya ki hum dono parents ban'ne wale hain"...Kavin replied with a smile before kissing her nose.

Purvi looked at him in surprise while he chuckled softly after noticing her expressions.

"Aap bahut bure hain Kavinji"...She said sulkily.

Kavin laughed and pinched her nose lovingly. Purvi couldn't help smiling at this.

"Purvi you are the best thing that has happened to me. You are the best thing that is happening to me and you will be the best thing that will always happen to me. I can't imagine living without you. You make my world and today you make me fall in love a million times over in love with you again"...Kavin uttered after kneeling down in front of her and holding her hands.

Purvi looked at him and smiled, her smile was one of happiness growing, much as a spring flower opens. It was beautiful.

"I promise you jaan, main bahut achchha papa banoonga"...Kavin said before kissing her hands.

"Mujhe poora yakeen hai Kavinji aap bahut achchhe papa banenge"...Purvi said while smiling fondly.

Kavin smiled softly and joined his forehead against hers before kissing her forehead.

Purvi smiled cheerfully after recalling that day. She looked towards the bathroom when she heard laughing sounds, she saw Kavin and Aadhriti laughing merrily over their talks. Kavin had just bathed Aadhriti and dressed her up in a baby pink frock.

Kavin: You're so adorable Riti (Kavin and Purvi fondly called Aadhriti as Riti)...

"Dadaaaaa...It's Aadhiti Kumal (Aadhriti Kumar)"...Aadhriti said with a slight lisp after interrupting him. She didn't like when her parents called her Riti, she loved being called as Aadhriti Kumar.

"Okay...Miss Aadhriti Kumar"...Kavin said with a fondly laugh.

Aadhriti smiled fondly and hugged him. Kavin smiled and made her stand on the bed. Then, he took a comb and started combing her ear length smooth black curly hairs. Purvi was smiling while looking at them.

One day Kavin and Purvi were sitting on the bed while holding each other's hands.

"Purvi main bahut khush hoon...Main papa ban'ne wala hoon"...Kavin said in sheer happiness.

Purvi smiled at him.

Purvi: Waise aapko kya chahiye, ek pyaari si beti ya...

"Purvi mujhe is se koi fark nahin padta ki humein beta hoga ya beti...Main bas itna jaanta hoon ki hamara bachcha hamare pyaar ki nishaani hai, aur main us se bahut saara pyaar karne wala hoon"...Kavin said with a warm smile after interrupting her.

Purvi looked at him, her eyes and face lit up with his genuine reply. Kavin smiled warmly and caressed her hairs.

"I worship you"...Purvi uttered softly after pecking his lips.

Aadhriti walked out of the room and went downstairs to play. Purvi smiled and got down from the bed. She was about to go to get freshen up but Kavin held her hand and pulled her closer.

"Kavinji kya bachpana hai ye, chhodiye mujhe...Mujhe nahana hai"...Purvi said while pushing him away from her.

"Lekin mujhe sona hai"...Kavin said while pulling her closer and hugging her tightly.

"Haan to jaaiye so jaaiye...Lekin mujhe to chhod dijiye"...Purvi said after separating herself from him.

Kavin nodded in no and hugged her again.

"Mujhe to aise hi sona hai"...He whispered in her left ear before kissing her neck sensually.

Purvi closed her eyes and hugged him back. Kavin smiled and trailed his nose through her hairs to her neck and then down to her shoulders. Both were melting in each other's embrace. They got disturbed when Kavin received a call.

"Kavinji aapka phone baj raha hai"...Purvi said before pulling away from the hug.

"Haan to bajne do"...Kavin whispered while running his right hand through her hairs to her cheek.

"Kavinji!...Dekhiye na kiska call hai"...Purvi said after pushing him gently.

Kavin smiled and pecked her lips before picking up his cell phone. Purvi smiled and went to get freshen up.

"DCP sir!...Pata nahin inhe kya problem hai, chhutti ke din bhi chain se nahin rehne dete"...Kavin murmured in irritation while looking at the caller ID.

He sighed and picked up his call.

On the other hand, Aadhriti was busy playing with Kishore, ACP Pradyuman and Nakul. They were playing hide and seek. Aadhriti was hidden in the garden and ACP Pradyuman, Kishore and Nakul were searching for her (The whole family was holidaying in Lucknow).

"Papa ye Aadhriti kahan chhup gayi?"...Nakul asked ACP Pradyuman while looking around.

"Beta Aadhriti jahan bhi chhupi hogi use sabse pehle uske naanu dhoondenge"...ACP Pradyuman said while smiling.

"Nahin nahin Pradyuman...Aadhriti ko sabse pehle uske daadu dhoondenge"...Kishore said with a proud smile.

Aadhriti was giggling silently after hearing them. Meanwhile Kavin came there and saw ACP Pradyuman and Kishore quarrelling like kids.

"Kya hua papa?"...He asked ACP Pradyuman and Kishore.

"Beta hum Aadhriti ke saath hide and seek khel rahe hain...Main keh raha hoon ki sabse pehle main usko dhoondunga aur Pradyuman keh raha hai ki wo dhoondega"...Kishore complained.

Kavin smiled after knowing the reason of their silly fight.

"Papa aise to aap dono mein se koi bhi Aadhriti ko nahin dhoond paayega"...He said while smiling.

ACP Pradyuman and Kishore looked at him sadly.

"Are wahi to main soch raha tha...Aadhriti ko sirf uske maamu dhoond sakte hain"...Nakul said happily while lifting up his collars.

"Yaar tum to rehne hi do Nakul"...Kavin said and laughed.

"Bahut hasi aa rahi hai tumhe...Achchha chalo tum dhoond ke batao Aadhriti ko"...Nakul said while patting his back.

"Haan haan...Abhi dekho kaise Aadhriti apne Dadaaaaa ke paas aati hai"...Kavin said proudly.

Nakul looked at him to figure out how he will find Aadhriti. On the other hand, Aadhriti kept her index finger at her lips and slowly walked from her original place and then hid behind a big mango tree in the garden.

"Dadaaaaa bhi Aadhiti (Aadhriti) ko nahin dhoond paayenge"...She said to herself and giggled.

Kavin smiled widely as he saw his adorable daughter hiding behind the tree. He was about to go near her but stopped when something struck his mind.

"Riti..."...He called out and grinned.

Aadhriti peeped from the tree and saw her father. She immediately marched towards him with a doll in her one hand and her hairband in the other.

"Dadaaaaa...It's Aadhiti (Aadhriti)"...She complained earnestly while wearing her hairband.

ACP Pradyuman, Kishore and Nakul guffawed while Kavin chuckled and picked her up in his arms. Aadhriti slapped her forehead with her little hand when she realised his plan.

"Dadaaaaa found you lil girl"...Kavin squealed before removing her hand from her forehead.

"But Dadaaaaa you did cheating...Aadhiti (Aadhriti) aapse kabhi baat nahin kalegi (karegi)"...Aadhriti said with a sad pout while pinching his nose.

"Okay! Your Dadaaaaa is sorry Riti"...Kavin mumbled innocently.

"Aadhiti (Aadhriti)..."...Aadhriti said while pouting her lips sulkily.

Kavin laughed and kissed her cheeks. Aadhriti smiled fondly and hugged him. ACP Pradyuman, Kishore and Nakul smiled at them.

On the other hand, Purvi came downstairs and went into the hall. She saw Kanchan and Shruti setting the dining table.

"Sorry sorry aaj late ho gayi"...She said before helping them in the work.

"Koi baat nahin Purvi...Waise bhi sab kaam ho hi gaya hai"...Shruti said while smiling.

"Haan beta...Achchha tum ek kaam karo sabko breakfast ke liye bula lao"...Kanchan said with a smile.

Purvi smiled and nodded. She was about to go but then only she saw ACP Pradyuman, Kishore, Nakul and Kavin coming inside with Aadhriti. They all sat on the dining table before washing their hands, Purvi smiled when she saw Aadhriti sitting on Kavin's lap.

Purvi was sitting on the bed and was reading a novel. Meanwhile Kavin entered inside the bedroom with a lot of toys. Purvi looked at him and shook her head while smiling as he was too much happy and excited that they were going to have a baby.

"Aise kya dekh rahi ho jaan?"...Kavin asked after keeping the toys and sitting beside her.

"Dekh rahi hoon kaise aap har roz hamare kamre ko khilono se bhar rahe hain"...Purvi replied with a smile after keeping aside her novel.

"Jaan ye hamara pehla bachcha hai na isliye main koi kami nahin rehne doonga...Aur maine kuchh mahinon ke liye chhutti bhi le li hai taki tumhara khayal rakh sakoon"...Kavin said while caressing her head.

"Kavinji chhutti lene ki kya zaroorat thi...Maa aur papa hain to mera khayal rakhne ke liye, aur to aur bhaiya bhabhi aur papa bhi aate rehte hain mujhse milne"...Purvi said while holding his hand.

"Jaanta hoon baba...Lekin main ye bhi jaanta hoon ki is waqt ek aurat ko sabse jyada apne pati ke saath ki zaroorat hoti hai...Isliye maine socha ki main kuchh mahine apni pyaari si patni ka khayal rakhoon, uske saath waqt bitaun aur use dher saara pyaar doon"...Kavin said and kissed her forehead.

"Kavinji I am so lucky to have you in my life"...Purvi said softly before pecking his lips.

"This was what I was going to say too"...Kavin said softly after pecking her lips.

Purvi smiled and hugged him warmly.

"Kavinji..."...She uttered while playing with the buttons of his shirt.

"Hmmm?..."...Kavin asked while running his right hand through her hairs.

"Main kabhi kabhi sochti hoon kya aap hamare bachche ka khayal rakh paayenge"...Purvi said after pulling away from the hug and looking at him blankly.

"Matlab...Kya tumhe shak hai?..."...Kavin asked with a slight frown on his face.

Purvi: Haan thoda thoda...Jab jab mujhe wo flight wali baat yaad aati hai na...Are wahi jab us chhote se bachche ne aap ke upar...

She couldn't continue further as she burst into laughter.

"Kavinji aap...Aapko...Aapko us bachche ne...Maa yaad dila di thi"...She uttered between her laughter while holding her stomach.

Kavin made a pitiful face while she continued laughing at him.

Purvi: Kavinji aap...Aap kitne...

She couldn't continue further as Kavin kissed her to shut her up.

Purvi started laughing when her mind recalled that day. She became quiet and started eating her breakfast when Kavin and others looked at her.

"Kya hua Mammaaaaa?"...Aadhriti asked while giggling.

"Kuchh nahin beta...You have your breakfast"...Purvi replied and continued eating her breakfast.

Aadhriti looked at her and then at Kavin who smiled and fed her breakfast. After having breakfast ACP Pradyuman and Kishore went outside for a walk, Kanchan and Shruti went to the market, Kavin and Nakul sat in the hall with Aadhriti to watch a cricket match, and Purvi went on the terrace to disperse the washed wet clothes for drying.

"Yaar Kavin aaj opponent team kaafi achchha khel rahi hai"...Nakul said while watching TV.

"Haan yaar...Aaj apni team ko jyada mehnat karni padegi"...Kavin replied back.

Aadhriti looked at both of them while placing her hands on her cheeks and yawned. She was literally getting bored with them while watching cricket. She looked at them and secretly walked off from there.

"I don't wike clicket (I don't like cricket)...I don't wike it (I don't like it)"...She mumbled sulkily with a slight lisp to her doll.

After sometime, Purvi came downstairs after completing her work. She looked around the hall and saw Kavin and Nakul watching TV but she didn't find Aadhriti with them or around. She walked into her room to find Aadhriti but she didn't find her there also, she walked out of her room and searched for her in the whole house but she was nowhere to be found. She went back near Kavin and Nakul.

"Riti kahan hai?"...She asked them worriedly.

Kavin and Nakul looked at her and then around.

"Kuchh der pehle to yahin par thi hamare saath mein"...They replied while looking at her again.

"To phir abhi kahan chali gayi?"...Purvi asked with a frown on her face.

"Pata nahin..."...Kavin and Nakul mumbled while avoiding her gaze.

"Haan...Aap dono ko kaise pata hoga...Aap dono ko cricket ke alawa kuchh soojhta hai kya!"...Purvi shrieked in anger.

"Kya hua beta...Kyun daant rahi ho in dono ko?"...ACP Pradyuman asked as he entered inside the house with Kishore.

Purvi looked at him and told him that Aadhriti was nowhere to be found in the whole house.

"Kavin, Nakul...Tum dono ek chaar saal ki bachchi ka dhyan nahin rakh sakte"...Kishore shouted in anger.

Kavin and Nakul looked at each other and then they lowered their heads.

"Are jab ye chaar saal ki bachchi hi itni shaitan hai, to isme in dono ki kya galti"...Kanchan said from behind.

ACP Pradyuman, Kishore, Nakul, Kavin and Purvi looked at her and found Aadhriti in her arms, Shruti was standing beside her. Purvi went near them and took Aadhriti in her arms.

"Maa kahan mili ye aapko?"...She asked Kanchan while hugging Aadhriti.

"Are beta ye bahar garden mein hi khel rahi thi"...Kanchan replied while looking at Aadhriti who was hugging Purvi.

Purvi looked at Aadhriti who held her ears and made an innocent face.

"Sholly Mammaaaaa (Sorry Mammaaaaa)"...She mumbled adorably and kissed her right cheek.

"Bilkul apne papa par gayi hai"...Purvi mumbled and shook her head while smiling.

Aadhriti giggled while others except Kavin laughed after hearing her. After sometime, they all sat in the hall.

"What's the score?"...ACP Pradyuman and Kishore asked while watching TV.

"100-3 (The team has scored 100 runs and lost three wickets)"...Purvi replied while cuddling Aadhriti into her arms.

Kavin and Nakul looked at her with wide open mouth. Purvi and Shruti giggled while looking at both of them.

"Purvi lagta hai Aadhriti ko neend aa rahi hai...Tum jao ise apne room mein sula do"...Shruti said as she noticed Aadhriti yawning and hiding her face in Purvi's chest.

Purvi nodded and took Aadhriti into her room. She laid her on the bed and covered her up with a blanket and then started caressing her head.

"Aadhriti aapko ye chocolates kisne di?"...She asked when she noticed some chocolates in her closed fists.

"Daadi ne..."...Aadhriti replied before keeping the chocolates under her pillow.

Purvi smiled at her and continued caressing her head. Meanwhile Kavin entered inside the room and laid on the bed beside Aadhriti.

"Dadaaaaa..."...Aadhriti uttered fondly and hugged him.

Kavin smiled and took her into his arms. Purvi smiled at them.

"Aadhriti...Aap bahut shaitan ho gayi hain, aapki wajah se Mammaaaaa ne Dadaaaaa ko daanta"...Kavin said to Aadhriti and looked at Purvi while stroking her back.

He adverted his gaze as Purvi too looked at him.

"Dadaaaaa Mammaaaaa to sabko daant'ti lehti (rehti) hain"...Aadhriti whispered in his ear and both giggled slightly.

Purvi didn't hear her as she spoke that up very slowly. She looked at them and walked out of the room into the balcony. Kavin went behind her after making Aadhriti asleep, he found her staring at him.

"Main aapko daant'ti hoon?"...Purvi asked while pulling him closer by grabbing his waist.

Kavin became utterly surprised due to her sudden act.

"Boliye?..."...Purvi asked while looking at him.

Kavin wrapped his arms around her waist and nodded his head in yes. Purvi looked at him in surprise while he smirked to himself as he was pulling her leg.

Kavin: Haan...Jabse Aadhriti hui hai, tabse tum mujhe daantne lagi ho...Pehle to tum mujhse sharmati thi, lekin ab main tumse sharmane laga hoon...

"Jee!..."...Purvi exclaimed in confusion after interrupting him.

"Mera matlab hai ghabrane laga hoon...Darne laga hoon tumse"...Kavin corrected himself and laughed under his breathe.

Purvi left him and freed herself from his hold.

Purvi: Maine aaj se pehle aapko kabhi bhi nahin daanta, in fact aapse kabhi bhi unchi aawaz mein baat tak nahin ki...Main aaj bhi nahin karti lekin Riti mil nahin rahi thi isliye...

She stopped speaking when she found Kavin laughing at her.

"Are baba tum hamesha itna serious kyun ho jaati ho"...Kavin said while laughing.

Purvi fully understood that he was trying to pull her leg.

"Aap bahut bure hain Kavinji, hamesha bekaar ke mazaak karte rehte hain mere saath"...She said sulkily.

"Aapke saath mazaak nahin karenge to phir kis ke saath mazaak karenge Mrs. Kumar"...Kavin said while pulling her closer against his chest.

Then, he kissed her nose tip. Purvi smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Mr. Kumar ab to sudhar jaaiye...Ab aap Dadaaaaa ban chuke hain"...She said and pinched his nose lovingly.

Kavin smiled and nodded in no. Purvi shook her head while laughing.

"Purvi...Thank you"...Kavin uttered fondly while admiring her.

Purvi stopped laughing, she looked at him and raised her eyebrows questioningly.

"Thank you for coming into my life...Thank you for loving me...Thank you for adoring my parents...And lastly, thank you for Aadhriti"...Kavin uttered warmly with a genuine smile.

Then, he put his arms around her and pulled her closer against his chest.

"You're the love of my life Purvi...You have been the first and will be the only one ever to touch my heart. Ever since the day I met you, my heart stopped beating for me. It beats for you, saying I love you with every beat"...Kavin uttered genuinely before kissing her forehead.

Purvi smiled warmly as his words spread a kind of warmth in her heart.

"Kavinji thanks for always making me feel loved, cared for, and special"...She uttered softly after kissing his forehead.

Kavin smiled fondly after hearing her. They both rested their foreheads against each other and stared into each other's eyes while smiling. Their eyes reflected love, true love for each other which can't be put into mere words. An entire ocean of ink wouldn't be enough to describe them. They were a starburst of light amongst the darkening dusk. They were all the stars in the sky condensed into a single point. They were everything and nothing at the same time. Together, they were a beautiful dream.
