It's easy to lose yourself, I know
NOAH started to inform them on everything he knew, "I got to meet with the medical examiner and try to figure out what happened with Jackson. I've got an APB out on Stiles. His jeep is still in the parking lot, so that means — the hell, I don't know what that means. Um — look, if he answers his phone, if he answers his emails, if either one of you see him—"
"We'll call you," Daisy interrupted him, tears welling up in her brown eyes as she thought about Stiles.
Scott decided to intervene, wrapping his arm around her, "Look, he's probably just freaked out from all the attention or something. We'll find him."
"Yeah. I'll see you, okay?" Noah walked away, his head bowed.
"Is that everyone?" Daisy asked, looking around to see if anyone else was still in the locker room.
"I think so," Isaac told her, stepping away from the locker he was currently leaning up against. "You're gonna find him by scent?"
"Yeah, we both are," Scott told him. "Sky — Daisy has great hacking skills, she can look through the camera footage to see if she can see what happened."
"But how come you get his shirt and I get a shoe?" Isaac asked in disgust as Scott handed them both something to smell.
"We need to talk." They turned around to face Derek.
"All of us."
"Holy shit!" Daisy exclaimed as she saw the man who she hated with everything in her. "What the hell, Derek!?"
"What the hell is this?" Scott asked in disbelief as he looked at Peter.
"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw you talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station," Derek stated, glaring at Scott.
"Okay, hold on." Scott tried to defend himself. "He — he threatened to kill my mom. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?"
Peter decided to speak up, "I'm gonna go with Scott on this one. Have you seen his mom? She's gorgeous."
"Shut up!" Scott, Derek, and Daisy all shouted in sync.
"Who is he?" Isaac asked, pointing to Peter.
"That's Peter, Derek's Uncle. Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire, and Derek slashed his throat."
Peter waved with a smile on his face. "Hi."
Isaac tilted his head, staring at Peter with wide eyes. "That's good to know."
"How is he alive?"
Derek rolled his eyes. "Look, the short version is he knows how to stop Jackson. And maybe how to save him."
"Well, that's very helpful except Jackson's dead."
Derek took a step forwards. "What?"
Daisy nodded. "Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field."
"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?" Isaac questioned, confused.
"Because if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen."
"But why?"
"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out. And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing. Quickly."
"DAD, I said I'm fine!" Stiles threw open his door and stared down at Daisy in shock. His face went from annoyed to surprise really quick.
"Hi," Daisy squeaked out.
"Hi."
"What happened to your—" She went to reach for his cheek, but he pushed her hand away from his face.
"Oh, uh — yeah, no, it's nothing. Don't worry about it. I'm fine. Do you want to come in?" She stepped into his room, feeling the air thicken. "How are you doing?"
"I have to find some way to save Jackson," she told Stiles, getting straight to the point. "I might hate him, but he doesn't know what he's doing. He is innocent for once in his life."
"You can get hurt," Stiles told her, shaking his head.
"I don't care," Daisy told him. "I help people, that's what I do."
"See, that's the problem!" Her eyes widened as he looked at her with a firey look in his eyes. "You don't care about getting hurt. But you know how I'll feel? I'll be devastated. And if you die, I will literally go out of my freakin' mind. You see, death doesn't happen to you. It happens to everyone around you, okay? To all the people left standing at your funeral, trying to figure out how they're gonna live the rest of their lives now without you in it? Huh? And look at my face, huh? Come on, you actually think this was meant to hurt me?!"
Daisy took a step back in shock. Stiles has never yelled at her before. She took in a shaky breath and tried to leave his room, but he reached out, and grabbed her wrist. "Um — I'm so sorry."
"Stiles." She shook her head at him. "Why are you acting like this?"
"There's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills it's victims. It's called unrequited love. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But, there is other stories about people who fall in love alone. I am one of those people." Tears welled up in his whisky colored eyes. "I've loved you for six years, Skye. The worst years of my life, to be honest. All because i've been cursed by being in love with someone who does not and will not love me back."
"Stiles..." She whimpered, tears rolling down her cheeks as she simply just stared at him, not knowing what to say.
"I thought love was just something idiots thought they felt. But you have a hold on my heart that I can not break even if I wanted to. And there has been times that I have wanted to, believe me when I say that. It has been overwhelming and painful at times, but I can not stop loving you more than I can not stop breathing. I'm hopefully, irretrievably in love with you, Skye. More than you know."
Without thinking, Daisy launched herself at him, pressing their lips together. Her eyes widened due to realizing what she had done, and backed away. "I — I — I'm sorry." She pressed her fingers to her lips in shock. "I don't — I —"
"You don't love me." Stiles nodded, tears rolling down his cheeks. "I know. I knew, but I still hoped."
"I — I like you, Stiles," she stuttered out. "But... I don't see myself with you. I mean, I did.. before — before I was shot and met my family... but now, I can't. Everything has changed too much." Before another word could be said, she bolted.
"WHERE'S Derek?" Chris questioned as they waited at the abandoned building where they were all suppose to meet up.
Derek came running on his feet and hands, before he flipped through the air, and landed in front of them, on his feet.
"I'm here for Jackson," Chris told Derek, "Not you."
"Somehow, I don't find that very comforting," Derek told him before turning to Isaac, Scott, and Daisy. "Get him inside."
"Where are they?" Daisy asked, looking to Derek.
"Who?"
"Peter and Lydia."
Derek leaned over Jackson, unzipping the body bag. "Whoa, hold on a second. You said you knew how to save him,"Scott stared at him in disbelief.
"We're past that," Derek told him, rolling his eyes.
"No one is past saving," Daisy told Derek, glaring at him.
"Think about it." Derek turned to them. "Gerard controls him now. He's turned Jackson into his own personal guard dog. And he set all of this in motion so that Jackson could get even bigger and more powerful."
"No." Chris shook his head. "No, he wouldn't do that. If Jackson's a dog, he's turning rabid, and my father wouldn't let a rabid dog live."
"Of course not." They all whirled around to face Gerard. "Anything that dangerous, that out of control — Is better off dead." Derek went to rip out Jackson's throat, but Jackson stabbed him in the stomach with his claws.
"No!" Daisy shouted as Jackson threw Derek back. She threw out her hand and caught Derek in the air with her powers before lowering him to the ground slowly.
"Well done to the last, Scott." She turned to Gerard who smirked. "Like the concerned friend you are, you brought Jackson to Derek to save him. You just didn't realize that you were also bringing Derek to me." An arrow zoomed towards Daisy, and she held out her hands, and stopped it. She then redirected it to where it went back to where it came from. Allison came around the corner, an unemotional look on her face.
"Allison?"
The Kanima came running towards them.
Derek came out from from behind a pillar, his alpha eyes on display. Scott and Isaac came out from behind DaisyC their gold eyes on display. Before the Kanima could even get close to them, Daisy threw out her hand, and lifted it off the ground before throwing it into the wall.
The Kanima easily got back up and charged towards Scott, kicked him in the chest which made Scott go flying back. Daisy ran towards the Kanima, and grabbed onto it's shoulders, focusing on every cell in it's body, making it's insides shake. It let out a loud shriek before throwing her off of it. She went flying back into the wall, a popping noise was emitted from her wrist. She groaned, holding her wrist to her chest.
She got up off of the floor in time to see Allison stabbing Isaac. "Allison!" She shouted, throwing out her good hand, making her daggers go flying across the room. The Kanima came up from behind Allison and grabbed her throat.
"What are you doing?" Allison asked Gerard.
"He's doing what he came here to do." Scott glared at Gerard.
"Then you know."
"Know what?" Daisy asked, grimacing. "That you're an asshole?"
"It was the night outside the hospital, wasn't it, when I threatened your mother. I knew I saw something in your eyes. You could just smell it, couldn't you?" Gerard asked Scott as Daisy walked towards her brother, still holding her wrist to her chest.
Isaac came to a realization. "He's dying."
"I am," Gerard agreed. "I have been for a while now. Unfortunately, science doesn't have a cure for cancer yet. But the supernatural does."
"You monster," Chris spat in disgust and disappointment.
"Not yet."
"What are you doing?" Allison asked in disbelief, her eyes wide.
Chris asked through clenched teeth. "You'll kill her too?"
"When it comes to survival, I'd kill my own son!" Gerard shouted. "Scott."
"Scott, don't," Daisy told her brother, shaking her head. "You know that he's gonna kill Derek right after. He'll be an Alpha." Scott didn't listen to her, instead, he grabbed Derek.
Gerard nodded. "That's true. But I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott? He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together. You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love."
Derek shouted. "Scott, don't! Don't!"
"I'm sorry. But I have to." He forced Derek's mouth open, Gerard lowered his arm into his mouth, and Scott made Derek bit him.
Gerard stepped back with a smug look on his face, holding up his arm. What came to a surprise was when black blood dripped from the newly made wound. "What? What is this? What did you do?"
Scott grinned. "Everyone said Gerard always had a plan. I had a plan too."
Geard shook his head in denial. "No. No." He took out his pill holder, and crushed the pills in his hand. "Mountain ash!"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek asked Scott in bewilderment, his eyes wide.
"Because you might be an Alpha, but you're not mine," Scott told him, glancing over at Daisy with a small smile.
"Kill them! Kill them all!" Gerard shouted and when the Kanima was about to do something, Stiles' jeep came storming in, hitting the Kanima.
Lydia stepped out of the car, yelling. "Jackson! Jackson."
"Lydia!" Stiles shouted and went to go to Lydia but Scott stopped him.
"Wait." The Kanima turned into Jackson, just with scales.
Out of nowhere, Peter and Derek ran towards Jackson, stabbing him in the stomach and back, lifting him up into the air. Lydia ran forward, catching Jackson as he fell.
"Do you — do you still—"
Lydia nodded. "I do. I do still love you. I do, I do still love you. I do. I do still love you, I do," Lydia cried which made Daisy look to Stiles who was already looking at her with tears in his eyes.
When Lydia started to walk towards them, Jackson sat up, howling.
"ARE you sure?"
Daisy stopped throwing her stuff into the many bags she had on her bed. "I'm sure.'" She nodded even though she knew he couldn't see her nodding. "It's time for me to come home."
"Home? I thought your home was in Beacon Hills."
"It's not. Not anymore." She shook her head. "My mom can barely look at me. My best friend won't talk to me anymore due to me not feeling the same way he does. A girl I was just starting to become friends with tried to kill a friend I just made." She took in a deep breath. "It feels as if I don't belong in Beacon Hills anymore."
"Alright." She could feel him smiling through the phone.
"You'll pick me up, right?" She smiled as she started to pack again.
"You know I will, Skye."
"It's Daisy, Coulson," she reminded him.
"Oh, yeah." She heard him chuckle. "We'll be there soon to pick you up."
"Can't wait."
