Not a perfect soldier, but a good woman
"WHAT the fuck, Scott!?" Daisy shouted at the top of her lungs as she barged into the police station, and right towards Scott and Melissa. "Auto theft and kidnapping!?"
"Skye?" Scott squeaked out in surprise, his puppy eyes full of tears. She nodded her head, eyebrows furrowed before she turned to Melissa who had the same look on her face.
"Uh... who died?" She questioned before they both lunged at her, bringing her into a hug. She let out a strangled breath, but wrapped her arms around the both of them, still confused.
"Where the hell have you been!?" Melissa pulled back from the hug, crossed her arms, and glared at Daisy. "Huh?" The girl in questions mouth hung open as she realized she hadn't even told anyone where she was going. She had just told Gordon to take her without even saying goodbye.
"Um." Daisy cleared her throat. "I met my parents," she told the both of them, knowing she wouldn't be able to keep that a secret.
"You..." Melissa stuttered over her words, You saw your parents? Your biological parents?" Daisy nodded her head, tears springing to her eyes. "Oh, baby, what happened?" She saw her face, looking concerned.
"I — I—" Daisy couldn't even get out another word before she buried her face into Melissa's chest. "They weren't who I thought they were," she chocked out. "And now my mother is dead and my father doesn't even know me."
"Skye?" The girl in question shook her head, not wanting to look up at the person who had said her name. "Skye?" Hs pulled away from Melissa, wiped her eyes before turning to Stiles, the one who had called out her name.
"Hey... Stiles." She swallowed thickly due to her voice cracking. "What's... up?"
"What's up? Really? What's up?" He started throwing around his arms widely, chuckling hysterically as he did so. "Are you fu — are you fudging kidding me right now? Are you seriously asking me what's up when you've been gone for almost a month!?" She flinched at his tone, hesitantly nodding. "Oh, my Go—"
"Don't. Stiles," Daisy warned him seeing as he was about to go on a fucking long ass rant that she really didn't want to hear at the moment. "I've had so much emotional drain these past few weeks that I just want to go home, take a long ass nap, possibly beat up Jackass, then do whatever the hell I want afterwards."
"You will not be beating up anyone, missy." She turned to Melissa, her eyes wide. "Oh...okay." she sighed, rubbing her face before nodding, "okay, just this once."
"Really?" All three of them questioned in sync.
"No, not you two!" Melissa pointed at Scott and Stiles with a stern motherly look. "Just Skye."
"By the way, guys, I go by Daisy now."
DAISY waited until Harris was in his car, driving away before she ran into the school, and walked through the halls like it was any other day.
She ran into the library, everyone turned to look at her, Allison raised her eyebrows at her in surprise before she took a seat beside Erica who sat in front of Stiles.
"Hey." Daisy grinned at everyone before she turned to Erica, the girl who Scott and Stiles had told her about. "You're Derek's beta, right?" She didn't let her say anything else as she jumped straight to the point, "Tell us about Jackson's parents, Catwoman."
"IT means he was born after his mom died by c - section. They had to pull him out of her dead body," Stiles explained to Allison and Scott.
"So was it an accident or not?"
Daisy turned to Allison, raising an eyebrow at her question. "The word all over the report is "inconclusive"," she quoted, rolling her brown eyes.
"Then his parents could have been murdered?"
Stiles tilted his head. "If they were, then it falls in line with the kanima myth. You know?" He threw out his hands, "It seeks out and kills murderers."
"But for Jackson? Or the person controlling him?"
Scott abruptly started walking away. "We have to talk to him. We have to tell him."
"He's not gonna l--"
Something jumped over them. Instinctively, Daisy grabbed both Allison and Stiles, and ducked, covering their bodies with her's. Se then threw up her hands as something jumped over them again, the thing went flying up, hit the ceiling but continued on as if nothing had happened.
"Erica!" Daisy heard Scott yell.
She jumped up from her position and ran around the book shelves to see Jackson standing in front of Scott. When he raised his hand, ready to hit Scott, Daisy threw up her hand, and Jackson went flying back into another shelf. She nodded and ran towards Erica who was on the floor, seizing.
"I think she's having a seizure!" Daisy shouted at the top of her lungs, picking her up, pushing her hair out of the way.
"He's alive!" Allison shouted and that is when Daisy remembered that there was another person here. Knowing that the guy was okay, she stayed by Erica's side.
Stiles ran to DaisyMs side, looking down at Erica as Scott came running towards them. "Hey, we need to get her to a hospital."
Erica gasped, "Derek — only to Derek."
Daisy gave Scott a look and he nodded. "To Derek's we go."
"DEREK!" Daisy shouted as they ran into the old abandoned bus station.
"Hold her up," Derek announced as he came running around the corner.
"Is she dying?"
Derek nodded. "She might, I — which is why this is gonna hurt." He gripped her arm and bent it, a loud snap being emitted.
"You broke her arm!" Stiles shouted but Daisy shushed him, realizing what Derek had done.
"It'll trigger the healing process," she informed him, getting a nod from Derek.
"I still gotta get the venom out. This is where it's really gonna hurt." He dug his claws into her skin, a squishing sound filled their ears making Daisy cringe in disgust as blood pooled out of her arm. Her screams died down until she slumped into her arms.
"You know who it is," Scott realized.
Derek sighed before sitting down. "Jackson."
"You just wanted Erica to confirm it, didn't you?" Daisy asked him, crossing her arms.
"I'm gonna help you stop him. As part of your pack." She looked at Scott who told Derek that, "If you want me in, fine. But we'll do it on one condition. We're gonna catch him, not kill him."
"And?"
"And we do it my way."
SCOTT asked, "What's he doing here?" As they walked into the operating room at the vet's.
Derek barely even shrugged. "I need him."
"I don't trust him," Scott told Derek firmly.
Isaac, who Daisy had talked to only a couple time before, spoke up. "Yeah, well, he doesn't trust you either."
Daisy let out an annoyed breath. "And I want you all to shut the hell up so we can figure out what to do with Jackass and his controller."
Derek grabbed Isaac's hand as he tried to grab something that was in a vial. "Watch what you touch."
Isaac turned to Deaton as he walked into the room. "So, what are you? Some kind of witch?"
"No, I'm a veterinarian." Daisy laughed loudly at this 'cause he had a straight expression on his face, no emotion. "Unfortunately, I don't see anything here that's going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin."
"We're open to suggestions."
"What about an effective offense?" Daisy questioned, crossing her arms.
"We already tried." She turned to Derek who spoke, "I nearly took its head off. And Argent emptied an entire clip into it. The thing just gets back up."
Deaton asked. "Has it shown any weaknesses?"
"Well, one — it can't swim."
"Does that go for Jackson as well?"
"No." Daisy shook her head, arms crossed. "He's the captain of the swim team."
Deaton turned around and grabbed something. "Essentially, you're trying to catch two people." He lifted a coin up to them. "A puppet and a puppeteer. One killed the husband, but the other had to take care of the wife. Do we know why?"
Daisy exhaled deeply. "I can't believe I'm about to defend Jackass, but I don't think he could do it. His mother died pregnant too, and she was possibly murdered." She uncrossed her arms and looked at Deaton, "I think he couldn't let the same thing happen to someone else."
Isaac turned to Daisy, looking her up and down. "How do you know it's not part of the rules? The kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wife, then the baby dies too."
She rose an eyebrow at him. "Does that mean your father was a murderer?"
"Wouldn't surprise me if he was." Isaac simply shrugged.
"Hold on." They all turned to Deaton. "The book says they're bonded, right? What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him? What if something that affects the kanima also affects its master?"
"Meaning what?"
"Meaning we can catch them."
Daisy smirked. "Both of them."
"KETAMINE?" Scott questioned as Deaton placed a vial in front of Scott, Stiles, and Daisy.
Deaton shrugged. "It's the same stuff we use on the dogs, just a higher dosage." He looked at Scott. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He then held up another vial full of what looked like ash. "This is some of what you'll use to create the barrier. This part is for you, Stiles. Only you."
Stiles shook his head, his eyes wide. "Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure. Can we maybe find a slightly less pressure — filled task for me?"
Deaton gave Stiles an unamused look, "It's from the Mountain ash tree, which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural. This office is lined with ashwood, making it difficult for someone like Scott to cause me any trouble."
"What about me?" Daisy questioned, leaning forward to look at the ash.
"I don't know anything about your kind, Sky—" She glared at Deaton, "Daisy, but I will do my research and find out as much as I can so I can help you with anything you need to know."
"Okay, so then what?" Stiles brought the attention back onto him, "I just spread this around the whole building and then either Jackson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?"
Deaton nodded. "They'll be trapped."
DAISY stood outside the rave, her hands shaking by her side. She needed to do something but no, Scott had put her on babysitting Stiles while he played 'ring around the rosie' with a bunch of ash in his hands.
"Where were you?" She turned her head from where she was looking up at the sky, to Stiles who approached her. "Scott said that it was personal but wouldn't say anything." She shrugged and looked away from him, biting down on her bottom lip. "Can you at least tell me if you got your... gift under control."
"I do." She nodded.
"She talks!" He exclaimed in mock surprise. "Can you please tell me where you were?" She entwined her hands together as she tried to form an easy way to tell him, in her head. "Was it because I said I liked you?" She abruptly turned to him. "I mean, I must've freaked you out. You said you liked me too, but it was probably only 'cause you didn't want to hurt my feelings."
"It's not that, Stiles." Daisy walked towards him slowly, feeling a little guilty for what she was about to say. "I did like you—"
"Did," He whispered to himself, looking heartbroken.
"But everything changed so suddenly. I mean, when Scott got bit and turned into a werewolf, that was crazy, but when I got these powers, that was just insane. I didn't know what to do, but you were there." She placed her hands on his shoulders. "I'm really grateful for that."
He looked up into her eyes, frowning. "But?"
"But everything changed again." She took a dramatic step backwards. "This guy — Gordon — showed up in my hospital room, and he started telling me things about people like me." Se turned my back to him. "We're called Inhumans. And apparently, I have alien in me." She wrapped her arms around herself as she heard his intake of breath. "I met my parents, my real parents, and they turned out to be nothing like I thought they were."
"My mother, at first, she was so kind, she taught me how to control my powers, told me about me." Tears started to well up in her brown eyes. "And my father..." She trailed off, "I've heard stories about him from.... from friends. He was suppose to be a monster, a man who can't control his anger, a man who killed." Tears started to slide down her cheeks. "But he wasn't," she choked out, "He was kind, and I finally knew what it felt like for those girls who are daddy's girl." She chuckled dryly. "But, of course, everything had to be ruined, like always. My mother tried to kill me, my father killed her, and now his memories have been wiped, so he doesn't remember anything. He doesn't remember me."
"Skye..."
"Daisy," she abruptly spoke, turning to Stiles, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. "It's Daisy Johnson."
