A scar means, 'I survived'

"WHAT movie are we watching tonight, Sti?" Skye questioned as she walked around the movie shop, on the phone with Stiles.

"I don't know. What are you in the mood for?"

"Lord of the Rings or Hobbit?" She questioned, her hand grazing the movies as she walked by.

"Lord of the Rings!"

"Okay." The brunette nodded even though he couldn't see her. "I'll get the movies and you and Noah will pick me up, right?"

"Yup. Dad and I are about to get into the car to go pick you up." She heard him take in a breath, and she stopped mid way into hanging up, knowing he had something else to say. "You do know that you didn't have to walk there all by your lonesome. We could've picked up, dropped you off, then go to the nearest fast food to grab something to eat before picking you up again."

"That was a mouth full." Skye chuckled lowly as she heard the door to the store open up. "Hey, I gotta go. I grabbed the movies already and I can't seem to find Bob."

"Okay, see you soon?"

"Yup." She nodded and hung up quickly knowing that if she didn't, they would continue to talk until the moment they parked outside.

"Can somebody help me find The Notebook?" She groaned and hit her head on a nearby movie shelf. Of course it had to be him. "Hello? Is anybody working here?"

"His name is Bob," Skye commented as she came around the corner. "And I can't seem to find him either." She clung the movies close to her. She might not be scared of Jackson but when she first was adopted by Melissa, he had picked on her for being adopted, even though he is also adopted. I guess, maybe that is why he is bitter; she gets the love from her mom that he doesn't get from his parents. "The Notebook movies are over there." She pointed behind her at a few shelves down.

"Loser," He spat at her, bumping her shoulder as he walked by.

"Jackass," she spat at his retreating figure.

He froze and turned to her, glaring at her with hateful filled blue eyes. "What did you say to me!?" He marched up to her, his face inches from her's.

"You heard me." She leaned closer to him, fiery in her brown eyes. "You have done nothing but made mine, my brothers, and best friends' lives miserable. Bullying us, mentally and physically. You—" She stopped as she saw feet sticking out of behind a shelf. "Bob?" She went to walk forward but a growl stopped her,

Skye slowly turned around to see the Alpha lurking around a corner.

Without thinking, she gripped Jackson's wrist and hid both of them behind a shelf. She tried to contain her erratic heartbeat and her heavy breathing, but to no avail.

Upon hearing the shelves caving in, she dashed across the hall and to the other side.

A yell of desperation was heard and Skye froze, turning around to see Jackson stuck under the shelves. She groaned before running towards him, grabbed his hands, and started pulling.

"Skye."

She felt a breath on the back of her neck which made her stop. She closed her eyes and felt claws slowly drag across her bare neck; her hair was pulled up into a lazy bun.

"Leave me alone," Skye spat before she turned around and ran, but she didn't get far when something gripped her ankle, and pulled her down. A scream escaped her as she was flipped onto her back.

"Tsk. Tsk. Skye. You should know better by now."

She closed her eyes, tears sliding down her cheeks as all she could picture was her foster dad. Something sliced her cheek and that was when everything started shaking. Her hands balled into fists and she punched the alpha in the face; he went flying back.

Se scrambled to her feet in surprise as he got back up, growled at her, and jumped out the window.

"SKYE!" She looked up abruptly from where she sat on the edge of the ambulance. She let go of the blanket that laid on her shoulders and launched herself at him. "Are you okay?"

"My ankle hurts, my cheek is tingling, and I somehow sent the alpha flying backwards," Skye blurted out, pulling back from him slightly. "Stiles," she chocked out. "I don't know what's going on with me. I'm so scared. What if — what if there is something wrong with me. What if I was bit by the alpha and I don't remember it. What if I'm turning into something nobody can recognize?"

"Skye." Stiles pushed down her hair, smiling slightly. "No matter what, I'll be here for you, so don't worry your pretty little head." He tapped her head which made her smile up at him.

"Thanks, Stiles." She laid her head on his chest, exhaling. "I don't know what I would do without you." She wrapped her arms around his waist, feeling secure in his hold.

"JUST a friendly reminder — Parent/teacher conferences are tonight. Students below a "C" average are required to attend. I won't name you, because the shame and self - disgust should be more than enough punishment." Harris announced, staring down most of the class with a heated look. "Has anyone seen Scott McCall?"

At that moment, Jackass Whittawhore decided to walk into class. Harris approached him with a kind smile that made Skye surprised. She didn't know he had any other expression other than his resting bitch face. "Hey, Jackson. If you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know."

The brunette scoffed in disbelief. She was there at the store, too. She was traumatized as well, but was she getting a free get out of jail card — the answer is no.

"Everyone, start reading Chapter Nine." Seconds later, Harris spoke up again, "Mr. Stilinski. Try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a coloring book."

Skye turned her head to her best friend to see him angrily spit put the highlighter cap out of his mouth, the cap landing in his hand. She whistled in shock. "Go Stiles!" She cheered quietly which made him turn to her with a proud smile on his face. It was so cute.

"Hey, Danny," Stiles spoke, leaning forward so he was closer to Danny. "Can I ask you a question?"

"No."

"Well, I'm going to anyway." Stiles smirked, glancing at Skye before speaking again. "Um, did Lydia show up in your homeroom today?" Of course it would be about her.

"No."

"Can I ask you another question?"

"Answer's still no." Skye grinned, amused by Danny's response.

"Do you find me attractive?" Stiles leaned forward to much and felt to his desk which resulted in a snort/laugh to escape Skye.

"WHERE is your brother?" Melissa asked Skye as they sat in front of Mr. Harris who was staring the both of them down. The daughter shrugged, realizing she hadn't seen him all day.

"How about we get started?"

Melissa nodded. "Sure."

"Lately Scott's mind has been somewhere else, as has his body. Personally, I think it may have something to do with his home situation."

Melissa sat up straighter. "Oh, well, personally, I'm not sure what you mean by "home situation."

Harris cleared his throat, clearly annoyed. "Uh, specifically the lack of an authority figure."

"Yeah, I'm the authority figure, so..." Melissa trailed off, pursing her lips.

"Sorry." By the tone of his voice, Skye knew he wasn't sorry at all. "Allow me to clarify. I mean the lack of a male authority figure."

"Oh." Melissa nodded. "Well, trust me, we're much better off without him in the picture."

"Well, does Scott feel the same way?"

"Yes." She nodded. "I think so," she paused, "I hope so."

"He does, mom," Skye reassured her, putting her hand on her mother's knee.

"But he's going through some difficult changes. He just needs a little extra attention, a guiding hand through this crucial stage of his development." Harris then glanced at Skye. "Now, Skye on the other hand, she has A's in all her classes. But... she acts out. She can't control her mouth and she tends to threaten people."

The daughter's mouth hung open as his annoying voice continued to speak, "She never pays attention in class and sometimes when she isn't wearing the right clothings, I see scars lining her body. Would you like to tell me how they got there?"

"Are you accusing me of abusing my own child?" Melissa leaned forward, challenging him.

"But, she's not your child, though," Harris challenged back. "She's adopted. She's not yours or anyone's really. No one wanted her and I think I know why."

"How about you shut up!" Skys shouted at Harris, her hands started tingling, and the room started shaking. "You don't have the right to speak to me or my mother that way." She stood up abruptly. "She might not be my blood mother, but she is my mother! My real one didn't want me and personally, I'm kinda glad seeing as Melissa is a mighy fine mother!"

She then stormed out of the classroom.

MELISSA and Skye approached Allison's parents seeing as both Scott and Allison didn't show up for the parent conference. "Excuse me, you're not Allison's parents, are you? I'm Scott's mom, and I hate to say it, but he's not answering his phone either."

"You're his mother?" Chris questioned, looking SkyeMs mother up and down with narrowed eyes.

Skye stepped forward, pushing her behind her slightly. "Funny how you say that like it's an accusation."

"Well, I wouldn't claim it as a source of pride, since your brother basically kidnapped my daughter today," Chris spat at her which made her ball her hands into fists in anger.

"How do we know skipping school wasn't Allison's idea?" Skye questioned, crossing her arms.

"Allison..." Chris paused as he looked over my shoulder, "Is right there." Skye turned around to see Allison and Scott getting out of her car. "Let's go." They — as a group — walked towards the lovestruck couple.

"Where exactly have you been?" Melissa questioned Scott.

Scott looked down and grumbled, "Nowhere, mom."

"Nowhere," Melissa repeated, "Meaning not at school."

Scott nodded shamefully. "Kinda."

"It's not his fault," Allison spoke up. "It's my birthday, and we were—"

Chris was quick to interrupt his daughter, "Allison. In the car."

Before anyone of them could make a move to get anywhere, people started screaming, scattering about, cars honked, and Skye was shoved into Scott.

Allison stood in the middle of the road, a car headed straight for her. But, Noah Stilinski stood behind a car that Skye saw was about to back up.

Scott ran for Allison as Skye ran towards Noah.

Scott saved Allison.

And Skye almost wasn't able to get to Noah in time, but she held up her hand towards the car, feeling the familiar tingling in her hands before the car was pushed forward slightly.

She then ran straight into Noah, pushing him to the side before the car backed up again, driving off. "Are you okay, Noah?" She questioned, staring up at the man who she thought of as a father.

"I'm okay, Skye." He smiled at her. "All thanks to you."
