By the time dinner had been served the previous beautiful sunset colors which had been painting the sky gradually now began fading into a dark midnight blue, and after having spent an hour or so enjoying a glass of wine combined with the delicious food which mainly had been prepared by the older— with a little help from you, of course, all that was left now was to finish washing the remaining dishes; something which you happily insisted on doing by yourself, arguing that Taehyung had done more than enough already with his amazing cooking tonight

And so after a little bit of bickering, Taehyung finally ended up accepting defeat as he let you be in charge of the dishes; instead now taking his seat on one of the barstools at the kitchen island where he proceeded to not so subtly eye you attentively

Jungkook: Taehyung-sshi, with all due disrespect... I can feel your eyes burning holes into my back right now

A deep chuckle was heard from the older sitting behind you, shortly followed by a silently mumbled out ''All due disrespect huh? Sounds like quite a bratty thing to say petal'' before following it up with a much clearer response— the smirk on his lips could practically be heard as he spoke in a teasing tone

Taehyung: Oh and I'm eyeing a lot more than your back right now Jungkook-sshi... respectfully, of course.

You gasped softly as you immediately turned around to glance at him in a flustered disbelief, dumbfoundedly blinking while the older visibly seemed to enjoy how a natural rosy tint dusted over your cheeks at his somewhat suggestive words—and you certainly didn't miss how he then proceeded to purposely eye you up and down in a not so subtle manner before winking; the yet again teasing action instantly earning a soft whined out "Hyung...!" of you as timidly turned back around in an attempt to focus back onto the few remaining dishes, only seeming to fuel the breathy chuckles coming from the older

Taehyung: Okay okay I'll stop teasing you now, but on a serious note could I borrow your phone? Mine ran out of battery and I just wanted to check something real quick

Jungkook: Mhm, it should be laying on the couch, and you already know the password— or do I need to remind you again?

The older flashed you a warm grin as he shook his head while uttering out a reassuring ''Nope I remember it this time— thanks Ggukie!'' before getting up from his seat to go search for the mentioned device; the cute action making it hard for you to contain the warm smile that now tugged at your lips while you swiftly finished rinsing off the plates

However, a sudden wave of realization soon hit you which immediately made you squeak out a panicked ''W-wait before you—'' while swiftly drying your hands and turning around; only to see how Taehyung already was stood beside the couch scrolling through the very posts you had been looking at earlier, a knowing smirk plastered onto his lips as he briefly glanced over at you while wiggling the phone in his hand gently

Taehyung: Too late, I already saw what you've been looking at Jungkook-sshi

Jungkook: No you d-didn't—! Or well... you did, b-but it's not what it looks like! I w-was just s-studying the trending topics a-and uhm accidentally clicked on the one about you!

Despite your efforts to try and explain yourself to the older, your words only ended up sounding like jumbled up babbles while you hurriedly scurried over to him; attempting to snatch your phone away from his grip— only to stumble forward as he raised his hand high enough so that you wouldn't be able to reach it just yet

Taehyung: Ah I see... And then you also accidentally kept on scrolling very far down— even liking some photos, edits, and oh— was that a oneshot written about us that I saw you also had liked hm?

Your eyes widened even more as you looked up into his eyes, piping out a flustered ''What!?— no I didn't like any of the posts or oneshots, I'm on my official account!''; only earning a soft chuckle out of the older as an amused smirk remained plastered onto his lips

Taehyung: Oh so there really were oneshots written about us amongst these posts?— found anything you were hoping to recreate hm?

A soft huff left your lips at his mischievous remark while you attempted to steal back your phone from the older, only resulting in the two of you eventually toppling over and down onto the couch as soft gasps emitted past your lips— the older now ending up hovering above you whilst securely keeping you caged in between his arms, the surprised expressions the both of you wore soon morphing into warm grins as either of you couldn't help but burst out into a fit of breathy giggles.

After a little while, you ended up rolling your eyes slightly whilst a subtle pout painted your lips; sighing softly before whispering out a quiet ''I keep embarrassing myself in front of you hyung...''— which in return made the older lean down to place a feather-like kiss onto your forehead whilst uttering out a reassuring ''Not in the slightest, I find your so-called studies absolutely adorable Jungkook-ah'', making another breathy giggle emit past your lips as you timidly looked away

Jungkook: Mhm, s-studies... E-exactly that

The older ended up moving the two of you into a more comfortable position so that his arms could securely wrap around your waist while he hugged you from behind, another feather-like kiss occasionally being placed onto your shoulder and neck as the two of you enjoyed what now turned into a perfect excuse to cuddle for a while. His comforting embrace nearly had the ability to lull you to sleep if it weren't for how rapidly your heart was beating right now, and you hummed softly as he eventually whispered into your ear

Taehyung: Would be lovely if we could stay like this forever, but it's getting late so I should really get going soon petal...

His words made you still in his hold as you anxiously eyed the time displaying 1:15 am, the familiar sense of apprehension and dread now beginning to wash over you at the thought of being alone tonight; because admittedly, you just didn't feel safe given the current circumstances.

This however didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung, whom gently ended up pulling you in closer to himself as he whispered out a soft ''Hey, you okay Gguk?— you can talk to me you know?''— earning a hesitant sigh out of you whilst lowering your head

Jungkook: ...C-could you just stay over tonight I— I know it's silly but I still feel a bit shaken up by everything...

Upon hearing your request, he slowly sat up whilst gently pulling you up as well; a warm smile tugging at his lips whilst he reached down to caress your cheek

Taehyung: Oh petal, it's not silly in the slightest— after what you've been through it's completely understandable... And hey, I don't know about you but I haven't had a sleepover since I was a kid— oh and we could build a pillow fort, get all cozy and watch a movie on your laptop!

Your nose scrunched up adorably at his suggestion as you found the olders excitement quite endearing— and you couldn't help but let a bright smile paint your lips whilst you nodded in agreement, also liking the idea he had in mind a lot.

So that's how the rest of your night together ended up being spent, happily running between each other's apartments in order to collect enough pillows and blankets so that the cozy fort could be built— and once everything finally was in order, the two of you then slithered into the comfortable fort to watch the movie which had been agreed upon; where you also eventually ended up falling asleep together in the comfort of each other's warm embraces.

– All your worries now long forgotten, leaving you to wonder if it could get any better than this?

| The following morning...

The sound of your ringtone ended up forcing you to awaken from your peaceful slumber, a soft whine escaping past your lips as you drowsily searched around for your phone before answering the call, uttering out a soft and almost groggy ''Hello?'' whilst waiting for the other end to say something

''Hello, this is officer Byun Yohan calling. Am I speaking to Jeon Jungkook?''

Upon hearing it was an officer whom had called, you instantly sat up whilst forcing yourself to snap out of your tired daze, swiftly making sure to confirm he indeed had reached the right person which then allowed the male on the other end to state the reasoning to his sudden call

''I'm calling to inform you that we successfully managed to identify and arrest the culprit we've been looking for, would you be able to come into the station to see if you possibly could identify them?''

You immediately uttered out a ''O-of course, I'll be there in a minute!'' before turning to wake up Taehyung so that you could tell him the good news— only to find the spot next to you empty, however, you brushed it off and swiftly hung up the call so that you could get dressed; heart rapidly beating from relief yet also anticipation and dread, knowing you finally would be able to meet the person that had been doing all of this to you.

It didn't take long before you were dressed and out the door, hailing the nearest taxi which thankfully brought you over to the station within 10 minutes. And upon rushing into the station where you swiftly identified yourself, you were soon approached by Officer Byun whom greeted you before leading gesturing for you to sit down with him

Mr.Byun: Glad you could make it on such short notice Mr.Jeon, we were quite surprised ourselves when we made the discovery, as it turns out the culprit has been right in front of our noses all this time— in fact, they were in the room with you that day as well. They're in the middle of questioning right now but—

As your eyes curiously traveled around the interior of the station, hoping to possibly catch a glimpse of whomever it could be whilst Officer Byun informed you of the situation, you instantly froze up when your eyes ended up landing on a figure sitting across another officer in the distance— a soft ''W-wait what...?'' leaving your lips as you tried to comprehend what was happening; no— there's no way...

Jungkook: H–hyung?
