His bold words made you unable to squeak out anything but a mere and rather flustered ''O-oh... o-okay'' whilst trying to stay calm, yet obviously failing miserably as your legs yet again giddily began to subtly wiggle underneath the covers from excitement; something which didn't go unnoticed by the older whom proudly let out another warm chuckle in response to the flustered state he had put you in

Taehyung: Oh petal, is that all you've got to say hm? I'd prefer to hear if you are okay with me making an attempt in pursuing you from now on Gguk.

Apparently enjoying the flustered reactions he oh so effortlessly had brought out of you so far, the older then continued his teasing acts by carefully bringing his hand up to gently cup your blazing cheek, a warm yet almost mischievous grin painting his lips whilst he eyed you knowingly; almost admiring the way you struggled to form a response without stuttering

Jungkook: Oh, well I— u-uhm... I—

You instinctively reached up to timidly rub at the earlobe that Taehyung had kissed moments earlier, still being able to feel the warm and pleasant tingling sensation which it had left on the skin— and the olders intense gaze still attentively lingered on you whilst he once again whispered out a teasing ''Go on, use your words pretty... While that blush looks absolutely endearing on you, I'm gonna need a more precise reply than that''; instantly making your breath hitch while you covered your face in embarrassment, not yet having adjusted to the swift shift in confidence and dominance which strongly was radiating from him at this very moment

Jungkook: Wait h-hold on a second— w-what happened to the shy and equally flustered Tae I witnessed only moments ago? Was that some kind of act, I mean— h-how are you so bold suddenly?!

The squeaked-out statement earned a soft snicker from the older whom only leaned in impossibly closer; the hand which had remained gently cupping your cheek seemingly pulled you in to meet him halfway as he tenderly stroked the skin and hummed calmly

Taehyung: I can assure you it wasn't an act, though I just can't help but muster up the courage to tease you a bit with these cute reactions you show as a response to it... Now, how long are you gonna try to avoid answering me for, petal?

A shaky breath left your lips as you looked up into his eyes; desperately hoping he couldn't hear just how fast your heart was beating right now whilst still trying to phantom the fact that this wasn't some kind of a dream, and so after a little while you finally nodded slowly as you let out a soft response

Jungkook: I already agreed to the date, d-didn't I? Of c-course you can hyung...

Immediately upon hearing that, his facial expression vividly brightened up even more as the two of you ended up resting your foreheads against one another's— giggling softly while he whispered out a soft ''Okay, good'' which you mimicked playfully; only making more giggles escape past the both of your lips and fill the hospital room, especially when he proceeded to rub your noses together playfully which undoubtedly made your heart flutter even more from excitement and joy

Jungkook: ...Have you noticed how we're kinda going backwards with this whole process hyungie?

He pulled away slightly and tilted his head in confusion at your sudden question, clearly trying to think about it for a moment yet not quite seeming to grasp what you had been hinting at— so you fidgeted with the fabric of the comforter whilst quietly mumbling out a clarification to him

Jungkook: Well you know... first w-we slept together, then went on a date later, and n-now you asked me if you can pursue me— see what I mean now?

This immediately made the older shoot you a playful look as he subtly wiggled his eyebrows at you, a smirk once again tugging at his lips while he nudged your arm gently

Taehyung: Oh, so you admit you also thought of it as a date back then Ggukie?

You widened your eyes whilst swiftly reaching up to cover your mouth in surprise; only now realizing how you subconsciously (or maybe even consciously, who knows?) had ended up wording it, now making that deep crimson blush which only just had begun to calm down reappear on your cheeks as you mumbled out a soft ''m-maybe?— ugh just shut up...''— only fueling the fond chuckles which yet again emitted past the older lips

Nonetheless, after seeing the subtle timid pout which appeared on your lips as you looked up at him, he immediately cooed softly at the sight whilst effortlessly nudging your chin upwards with his finger

Taehyung: Awww don't be pouty now petal, I'm glad if you thought so too— but I'm still planning on taking you out on a proper official first date nevertheless.

You bit back a smile and looked away whilst crossing your arms, still keeping up the pouty act which the older undoubtedly could see right through— yet he played along with it and looked down at you through possibly the most adorable puppy-like eyes you've ever seen, his tone ever so gentle as he spoke to you

Taehyung: Teasing and flirting aside, you did make a really valid point Jungkook-ah, and I agree it certainly wasn't ideal nor even close to what you actually deserve... But even though we did start off things in quite a jumbled-up order, I'm hoping to make up for it— actually scratch that, I will make up for it, starting with this...

Just as you were about to question how he planned on doing so, your attention got drawn over to the sounds of familiar voices and footsteps approaching your hospital room which faintly could be heard from the hallway outside. So you automatically turned your head to glance over towards the door which they undoubtedly would walk through any moment now— only to suddenly feel how the older leaned down to place a tender kiss onto your cheek, entirely taking you by surprise as you widened your eyes slightly; legs once again bouching subtly underneath the cover while a flustered smile painted your lips, making Taehyung whisper out a soft ''How adorable''

Shortly after Taehyung had pulled away, the door as anticipated was opened, revealing the rest of your friends whom immediately rushed over to the side of your bed upon noticing you finally had woken up— immediately engulfing you in a bunch of warm hugs whilst trying to make sure you truly were okay; which undoubtedly took a bit of convincing at first, thanks to a certain someone...

Jin: Gguk are you really sure you're okay?

Jimin: You do look a bit flushed, should I get get the nurse just in case?

You swiftly shook your head and flashed them a gentle smile before subtly glaring over at Taehyung whom tried to hide his guilty grin

Jungkook: No I'm fine, really— I'm sorry I startled you all with this chaos that erupted...

A caring hand was then placed on top of your shoulder, belonging to none other than Namjoon whom shook his head reassuringly whilst uttering out a warm ''Nothing to apologize for Gguk, we're so glad you're okay''; though Yoongi did chuckle softly as he scratched the back of his head whilst looking over at you

Yoongi: Joon is right, you have nothing to apologize for Gguk. But you sure are right about chaos erupting though, the media as you probably might've already guessed is all over the news about the poisoning incident and the currently ongoing investigation around it. People online, however, seem to be quite focused on something else as well...

Jimin: Seems your fans and more precisely, shippers spotted some fading hickeys on your neck during the meet&greet that they got quite suspicious about— which by the way, you have a lot of explaining to do later on Jungkook-sshi! Nonetheless, alongside that someone also seemed to yet again have secretly snapped some photos from when Taehyung was holding you in his arms after you were poisoned, so everyone is freaking out a little about that too.

Taehyung tried to stifle a soft chuckle whilst you shyly scratched the back of your head, already being able to somewhat envision the cringy headlines and mildly embarrassing posts they mentioned. However, aside from the knowing smirk and looks Hoseok subtly had been flashing you and the older, it didn't seem like anyone else out of your friend group truly suspected there was anything going on between you two— which maybe was for the better, at least until you and Taehyung properly figured things out on your own first.
