With hair dyed white and skin a shade of tan, Azrail stands out in a crowd. Their eyes are dark brown, thin and slighty down turned. Dark bags lie under them from countless sleepless night. Their nose is small, but most distracting is the horrid scar that travels across the bridge of it. Their bottom lip is about twice as thick as the top, and the philtrum is quite prominent. You can see their cheekbones clearly, as they're very very thin. It's difficult to judge what gender they are, once you look past the length of their hair (it reaches Azrail's hips). They are 5'7ft, with long legs and a thin waist. Azrail tends to always wear a creepy smile on their face, as for clothes— they stick with dark and baggy items.

▏ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ ▏
Azrail is unpredictable. It's difficult to judge their true emotions, because they always have a smile. But it isn't a normal, warming smile— it's one that immediately let's you know that the person you are around is not normal. Because really, they isn't. They speak to the dead so often that those creatures hide in their head. Others think Azrail is schizophrenic, when in truth they house spirits and ghosts in their body. They are careless, impulsive and ruthless. They don't have friends, because no one can understand the way they behave. Azrail has accepted that too, and they no longer makes an effort to talk to those around them. They are content with the friends they have— those who have already moved on from Earth. But it is also because of this, that they aren't afraid to die. They see how pathetic life may be for those who have already passed on, but because they know what to expect, they don't fear it.

▏ ʙᴀᴄᴋꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ▏
Azrail wasn't always so insane. In fact, they might have been 'norma'l in their childhood years. It could be said that the way Azrail is today is a result of how their mother treated them. Azrail's mother taught them to contact demons and the dead whenever they became lonely or needed company; and this was at first because she was too busy to deal with a child. Later on, it became this way because Azrail's mother was hunted by the non-supernatural. She was a necromancer too, and Azrail was the result of a failed relationship that she couldn't maintain. Azrail's mother wasn't a bad woman, but her mental state would be mirrored in her child. After talking to them for so long, after tracing to the realm of the dead one too many times, it reaches your mental state. The demons and ghosts that do not wish to reside there often harass to necromancers to escape— and though necromancers are powerful enough to get rid of them, it is tiring and difficult. Azrail's mother was just as insane as they currently are.
After Azrail's mother passed, they would often travel to the realm of the dead for relief, or when they couldn't support themselves alone. There are some wonderful dead out there— but there are also those who are the opposite.
