Chapter 2: The truth behind the arrangement
HAI! I've come to realise this book isn't getting much love but that's okay I personally prefer this book so I'll update this week and the next without a doubt. I've stored at least 3 more chapters of this book on my friend's laptop and ever since I couldn't get it because of her personal reasons.

I try not to remember all the hardships I went through just to impress my parents, but failed miserably every time.
As I got closer to the destination I couldn't help but feel nervous. Graduating from college was difficult, but I succeeded. During those times of presenting projects or group work I never felt discouraged but now my mind is in total chaos.
Arguing with myself as to whether I enter or not. After ten minutes of continuous prep talks, I finally gained the courage to enter the building.
At times, I feel insecure about my attractive features but at the same time I thank my parents for it. Nonetheless to me my appearance isn't significant, but Mrs. Panalope always mines her appearance, so as the baby duck I followed the Mama duck.
To be frank it was a very sweet maid Mrs. Williams that I love dearly who help me when it came to girly stuff she treated me like her own daughter and I couldn't help but smile at the thought. My mind completely obsessed with perfection I didn't have time or permission to act, operate or think like a child. Considering everything, I used the concept of perfection thinking that it would increase their affection towards me not that they did anyway, but ultimately it got the opposite effect.
All eyes on me as the automatic door slide open. I couldn't help but notice the ridicule and admiration hidden beneath those stares. As I walked through the doors, everyone thinks I'm as graceful and elegant as a swan, but the drops of sweat embedded on my forehead says otherwise.
Heels clicking on the floor, as I made my way to the elevator. My emerald eyes checked the time as it fell on the watch on my wrist. Being 25 minutes early or just early in general was irrelevant, as I was taught to make a good impression on others.
While the elevator reached the designated floor as decided for the arrangement, its doors opened and I quickly walked out.
Tucking strands of hair behind my ear, I tried to regulate my breathing. It's usually helpful, but for now it did nothing. Placing my hand on my chest I sighed hoping that this whole charade will end soon.
Slightly twisting the door knob, I entered and greeted the remaining relatives in the room. In the blink of an eye time passed by, leading to the arrival of my family.
The scenery and aroma of the chocolate brown and cream white room caused me to feel at ease. The colours really blend well. At least, that's something to be happy about especially since the tension in the room is thick.
The suspense is driving me insane but my parents are completely calm as they discuss things involving the company.
Pondering a bit as they all had a conversation, I thought, "It's strange. Isn't Nate supposed to be here? Not to mention, my parents won't have an urgent family meeting just to talk about the company."
Speaking of the devil he magically appeared seeming confident as he walked with utmost perfection, graciously sitting in his assigned seat.
"Oh!" suddenly escaped my full lips as I scanned the room hoping no one heard.
Sighing in relief, because no one noticed, they were too busy gawking at Nate. I could honestly understand why they were all 'eye-balling' him. His defined jaw line, brown eyes and brunette hair seems as if they're sparkling. Soft pink lips I wish I could kiss and that black tux covering his 6-pack abs which you could partially see if you stare long enough. He's definitely attractive I can say that for sure, but that didn't entice me, it never does.
"I'm here as requested so let's get down to business." Nate said interrupting the chat my family indulged themselves in.
Coughing in response, Mr. Panalope said, "You're right!" staring fiercely at Nate.
"Are you aware about what we arranged with your parents about combining the 2 companies?"
"Yeah... To some extent" Nate groggily replied.
"Mhm" humming he continued "We have decided that our daughter Mindy will marry Nate and create an heir for the business."
To say I was baffled was an understatement.
