As they walked down the aisle trying to find their seats, MJ asked. She had been observing her since they had met at the airport and she hadn't been acting at all like herself. "Jess, are you okay?"

The platinum blonde girl looked at her with a paler face than ever. "Yeah, I just..." Her voice sounded shaky and MJ frowned confused by her friend's behavior. "I've never been on a plane before. I didn't think I would get nervous but..."

"You mean to tell me that" MJ sat down on her seat. "you can fly, you wear a suit with propellants that make you fly faster and you've been to space but you're scared of getting into an airplane?"

Although Jessica didn't enjoy their odyssey to space, MJ was right. It didn't make sense. She had nothing to be afraid. But she still was, the thing about phobias is that they are irrational and she had discovered her just moments prior to getting into the plane.

Jessica sat down next to her. They were sitting next to each other in the middle row. Next to Jessica was still an empty spot. "Was that supposed to make me feel better or worse?"

MJ was not the one who answered her. "Don't worry. Nothing will happen to you." Flash left his things on the shelf over their seats. "This is the safest transport there is."

"What are you doing?" Jessica's voice came out in a higher pitch than usual as she watched him sit next to her.

"Sup' Stark?" He smirked. "This is my seat. Looks like we'll have more than enough time to bond over this trip."

She blinked twice before getting up straight away. She almost tripped with Flash's feet when she tried to get out to the aisle. She got on her tiptoes to find Peter and once she located him, she rushed to get to him.

"Okay, is there any way one of you could switch places with Flash?" She had interrupted the conversation he was having with Ned, sitting next to him. "I really don't want to spend eight hours next to him."

"Don't worry, we have a plan." Jessica thought he had been really fast to come up with that.

Ned looked at him hurt and incredulous. "What happened to our plan? American bachelors in Europe?"

"American bachelors in Europe?" Jessica raised an eyebrow, making Peter panic.

"No! That's his plan, that's a solo plan." He pointed at Ned, trying to disassociate himself from his friend's idea. "I have a plan! With you."

"What I need now is a plan to escape from being trapped in this flying box with Flash."

"I'll make up an excuse and we'll sit together." Peter simply said.

"You know? There's a way to be together without excuses."

Before any of them could say another word, Mr Harrington called Jessica out. "Jessica, go back to your seat."

"Do something!" She mouthed to Peter and very unhappily made her way back next to Flash. If Peter's plan didn't work, at least she was still seated next to MJ and they both could ignore Flash together.

"Hey guys, umm..." Ned walked to them a few moments after Jessica had sat down again. "There's an old lady seating in front of us wearing a crazy amount of perfume and it's kind of setting off Peter's allergies. Flash, if you could switch seats with him..."

"He's allergic to perfume?" Flash coughed out a laugh and looked at Jessica expecting her to agree. "What a dork, right?"

She didn't even bother to look at him.

"Yeah! It makes his eyes water and he can't really-" Ned tried to stick to the plan, but Mr Harrington, once again, intruded the conversation.

"Peter's got a perfume allergy?" He asked really concerned. "I tell you from experience, perfume allergies are no joke!"

"Jessica, stand up. Ned take Jessica's spot. Jessica, take my spot. Peter come with me, let's get you out of there. Flash and Zack, take Ned and Peter's seats." Everybody started moving according to his messy instructions. Now Jessica sat in between MJ and Brad Davis. The teacher turned to Ned with a grateful smile. "Ned, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Your safety is my responsibility. I got it from now. Let's go, Peter!"

He shared a sorry look with Jessica when he passed by her row while following Mr Harrington to his new spot. Jessica then turned to face the screen in front of her. The flight was eight hours long and things were staring to go sideways because of their excuses. They could have spent all those hours watching movies, listening to music or just talking. And now Jessica's plane anxiety was starting to creep in again.

"You need to calm down." MJ told her when she noticed how nervous she was looking.

"I am calmed."

"You're not." She replied to Jessica's obvious lie. "Did something else happen? Did you break up with Spider-Man because he couldn't handle a long distance relationship?"

"I did not break up with him because I am not dating him." Jessica pretended to look at her almost offended. She knew she was kidding. She had made jokes like that before and Jessica always laughed them off. Jessica was sure she didn't actually believe that. MJ was just teasing her. "I just really need this vacation and this plane is getting smaller by the minute and it's getting on my nerves."

"You're scared to fly?" Brad Davis, now sitting in her left, leaned his head forward and tried to get into the conversation. "Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. It's just that- Well, I'm sitting here."

"It's okay." Jessica said. "And why is it so hard to believe that I am not particularly fond of airplanes?"

"Hey, I have a dual headphone adaptor if you wanna watch a movie." Brad kindly smiled at her as he showed her the adaptor.

She exhaled deeply. "As long as it keeps me distracted."

There were more documentaries than actual movies in the plane's repertoire's. A good amount of there had to do with the Avengers, especially the fallen ones. Jessica and Brad decided to go for a comedy movie. They spent most of the time laughing and it actually helped Jessica to control her fear.

"Look, it's the new Iron Man documentary." Once the movie was over, Brad showed interest in the one named Heart or Iron while looking for something to watch. It explained Tony's story and how he became the hero they all loved. Even Jessica was mentioned in it. Brad felt as he had overstepped and apologized for bringing up the subject. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"

"Don't worry about it."

"I really looked up to him. He was a great man."

Jessica gave him a weak smile. She thought the guy was pretty nice. Like her, he hadn't blipped away and when everybody came back he was five years older. She was glad she got to meet him. "Yeah, he was."

Brad leaned forward to try and catch a glance of MJ. "What's MJ watching?" She wasn't watching anything, instead, she was deeply immersed into a book. Jessica saw how Brad was looking at her. He sounded really interested in her, but of course, she didn't know if he actually was.

That though was interrupted when Jessica saw Peter walking toward the restroom. She considered that as a chance to talk to him in private. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom."

Peter was still inside the small compartment when Jessica reached the door. She waited until he was done and took him by surprise once he stepped out. "Jess!"

"Your plan didn't work as expected." She got into the bathroom with him without thinking it twice.

"I know..." He said. "I'm sorry."

"I don't want the rest of the trip to be like this."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Oh, really? Because it looks like you're having a great time with Brad Davis."

"Oh, trust me, you shouldn't worry about Brad Davis." Jessica was honestly more concerned about Flash.

But Peter didn't seem to have prioritized that. "Ever since we came back from the blip every girl is after him..."

"Not every girl." She said, speaking for herself. She still couldn't believe how insecure Peter could be.

Suddenly, a turbulence shook the plane and Jessica wasted no time in holding on to Peter's body. The boy held her back, amused. Peter chuckled at her actions. "You really don't like to fly, do you?"

"Shut up." She demanded him. "And, please, let's tell our friends. We're supposed to take a break from our hero duties and keeping this a secret is one of them." She opened the door and got out but didn't leave yet. "If you don't do it, I will."

She went back to her seat. Within the time she had been gone, Brad had decided to go through his phone. MJ had put her book down and was now focused on her sketchbook.

"Everything fine?" She asked Jessica when she saw how stressed she was.

"Yeah..." She started saying but then realised MJ was sketching her. "What are you doing? Are you drawing me?" She was and it wasn't a happy drawing. "Stop it. I'm not having a crisis."

"That's what someone who's having a crisis would say." And she went back to sketching her.

"Classic MJ, right?" Jessica heard Brad comment and she turned to him.

"What's your deal?" He looked bewildered by her question. Jessica rolled her eyes and spoke quietly so her friend wouldn't hear them. "Brad, I'm not stupid. It's obvious that you like her."

"Okay, you win." He gave in. "Yeah, I'm trying to get with MJ."

"That's cute." She playfully nudged him. "But I have to warn you, she's a tough one. I can help you, but there's nothing I can do if she doesn't want anything with you."

"Thank you, Jess." The boy's face lighted up at the thought. It seemed like she was going to play matchmaker on that vacation.

The sweet moment was ruined when another turbulence made the whole plane tremble. Jessica's first instinct was to hold onto Brad's hand. When the shaking had stopped, her second instinct was to look back and check on Peter. She could see him a few rows back and although he wasn't looking their way, she could tell he had seen her.
