There was a huge storm in the middle of London. A storm with a head and arms. The more they approached it, the better they could see what was actually happening. There were lighting and thunder along with gusts of wind that had everyone running in panic. Peter was sticking onto the outside of the plane and Jessica was holding onto his neck. She really hoped they'd move on with the plan quickly.

"Are you guys in position?" Happy asked through their earpiece.

"Yeah!" Both heroes replied. Jessica feared that her hands were going to slip off from how sweaty they were.

"I'm gonna approach it. Stay sticky." Happy turned the plane around and got closer to the hurricane. Even though it was all fake, the wind felt pretty real and was starting to bother Jessica.

"Oh- and Happy" Peter suddenly said. "We need to have a serious conversation about you and my aunt."

"What was that about?" She asked him, not knowing where had that come from.

"I'll tell you later."

Jessica let out a scream when he let go without a warning. They started plummeting over the city and the girl tightened her grip around the hero's neck. "I wasn't ready for that!"

"Take out the parachute!" He told her and she followed his demand. The bag on her back opened and the small parachute in the simplified shape of a spider flew out. It wasn't very practical and it only stopped their speed of falling, but that was enough.

They were getting closer to the ground and they were descending almost vertically. Peter then opened two wings that he had added to his suit, going all the way from the inside of his arms to his sides. That action prevented them from falling any further and they flew directly in the hurricane's direction.

"It's not real!" He repeated to himself as they dived inside the illusion. "It's not real!"

Once they got in, Jessica let go of Peter and used her powers to levitate while Peter clung onto one of the drones. "Hey! Turns out you make a good surfboard." She told him as they looked around them to find all the drones making up Beck's trickery.

"Wow, that's awesome!"

"Peter! Focus!"

He started shooting his webs, connecting all the drones. Jessica helped him by pulling them closer together and making sure they got as many as possible.

"I hope this works." Peter pressed a button on his web-shooter and the webs tased all the drones. Soon enough, the illusion started to fail, but Beck had way too many drones for them to take them down one by one.

As the fake cloud intermittently dissipated, Jessica spotted Mysterio in the upper walkway of the Tower Bridge. Both of the teens made their way there, Jessica used her powers to impulse herself and Peter jumped from drone to drone. However, one of the robots shot Peter down, making him fall to the road on the lower part of the bridge. Jessica, all the same, kept flying in his direction and broke through the glass window of the upper walkway, taking Beck by surprise.

"EDITH, give me some protection."

"It'd better give you a protective cup this time." She said before running towards him, ready to fight him. But just like Peter, before she could reach him, the drones hovering next to Beck shot her and pushed her off the hallway.

She fell on the road, surrounded by more drones. Peter ran next to her. "Jessica! What are you doing?! I need help with the drones!"

Suddenly, a group of them started to chase them down. Peter started shooting webs everywhere to run away from them. Jessica ran as well, creating energy shields to cover herself from the lasers being shot at her. While flying after them, some of the drones collapsed against each other and were destroyed. Some others were thanks to Jessica, who manipulated the radiation around them to make them explode. There were too many and they were everywhere. The illusion wasn't there anymore and she had the impression that Mysterio had killed it in order to prioritize the robots' attention in ending them.

She had also lost Peter. It wasn't until she saw him fall into the river that she finally found him. She saw him get out of the water and back on the road and she ran to him, pulling him behind a wrecked car to avoid being shot.

"I ran out of web-shooters." Peter panted.

"Okay," Jessica observed their possibilities. She was enlighted after looking at the exposed hood of the car before them. "I have an idea." She panted as well. "We take the engine, throw it in the air. I manipulate it to make it explode. I've seen what happens when I do that around cars. It will take them down and we'll be able to get to Mysterio.

Peter took the metal sign that indicated the Tower Bridge as something to use as a shield to protect the both of them. Jessica got up and took the car engine. She threw it as far up as her arms let her and the drones began shooting at it. That already set it off, but when Jessica played with the radiation it discharged, the eruption destroyed all the drones around them. Before any more drones could attack them, Jessica flew them both to the upper walkway, ready to fight Beck face to face.

Peter clung onto the ceiling and grabbed Mysterio by his collar, lifting him a few inches from the floor. He punched him in the face and he expected some kind of defense from the villain's part. But he didn't do anything. "Your lies are over, Beck." He told him.

"This really isn't ideal," The man replied, calmly. "but I have contingencies."

A drone at the and of the hallway hit Jessica right on the chest. Peter instantly let Beck go and checked on the girl to see if she was alright.

"Jessica!" She didn't answer him with words, but by her coughing, he understood she was fine. He turned to Beck again, glaring at him. "Just give me the glasses."

"You want these?" Mysterio took the EDITH glasses out. "Come and get them."

All of a sudden, a few more drones appeared and positioned themselves in front of Beck, facing the heroes. The walkway started to fade and a new illusion began. This time, everything went dark. Neither Jessica or Peter could see each other.

"Peter?"

"Jess, I'm gonna need you to stay down, okay?"

She couldn't disagree. As she couldn't see anything besides darkness, she might hurt Peter if she attacked. She decided to leave it to the boy since he could use his special sixth sense. She ducked and protected her head when she heard the drones shooting again. A few seconds later, the illusion broke down, as Peter had taken down most of the drones. She helped him defeat them with the objective of getting to Beck. But he had other plans.

"Fire all the drones now!"

As soon as she heard him, Jessica created a protective shield around them while the drones shot at them. The move backfired at Mysterio and one of the lasers hit him on the leg, making him fall on his knees. When Peter nodded at her, Jessica vanished the field and the wall-crawler charged against the last robots. The girl did the same close behind him until no more active drones were left on the hallway. Beck had been hurt and couldn't hold himself together to call more of his drones.

"Beck!" Peter ran towards him and Jessica followed him. "You lied to me and I trusted you!"

"I know, that's the most disappointing part." Mysterio coughed out as he grabbed his side with a groan in pain. "You're a good person, Peter. Such a weakness." He saw Peter's kindness as a bad asset. His naive and oblivious nature had made him look weak in the eyes of his enemies. Jessica was beginning to compare herself to him. She didn't think of herself as naive, but rather the opposite: distrustful. If she didn't have that weakness, did that mean she lacked kindness? "Stark was right, you do deserve them." Beck handed out the glasses for Peter to grab, but before any of them could move, Jessica caught something from the corner of her eye. There was someone standing on her right, she could feel it. That's when she figured it out. This Mysterio was just another illusion.

She grabbed Beck's disguised arm and it finally revealed the real man. He fired the gun he was pointing at her and missed. Jessica's gaze felt number than she had expected. "Your tricks don't work on me."

She took the glasses from him and handed them to Peter, who immediately turned to EDITH to stop the attack.

"EDITH! Turn off the drones!" He yelled to the AI system. "Do it! Execute them all."

All the drones were deactivated, the city was no longer under attack and everybody had been saved. Yet Jessica couldn't take her eyes off the man who had caused all that hurt and devastation.

She violently grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against the glass on the bridge's wall. The impact of Beck's back against the clear surface made it crack a little and the villain moaned in pain.

"Come on Jessica, let me down. I'm sure you want an explanation." He said, having trouble to speak as Jessica's hand was still obstructing his throat. "You can't kill me yet."

Why couldn't she kill him? She was more than capable. He had done too much harm and if she let him live, he wouldn't hesitate on doing more. But she was a hero, right? Heroes don't kill people, they protect them. They spare their enemy's lives, show them who's the bigger person.

But then she remembered what Beck had just said. Being good, such a weakness. Jessica wasn't weak, she knew that. Maybe she needed to let him know that too. Let the whole world know...

And then she looked at her hand. Her bare hand pushing against Beck's skin. She could do it. She could end with him once and for all. It was easy.

She saw what she was doing, but she didn't feel a thing. She saw Beck's veins turn dark, as the poison entered his bloodstream. Tears were rolling down her face, but she didn't feel them either. She didn't know if they were tears of sadness, anger or fear.

"Jessica, stop it!"

Peter's words arrived too late. By the time Jessica let Mysterio go and his body collapsed on the floor, his organs were shutting down and it was only a matter of seconds until his life came to an end.

"People need to believe." He struggled to say his last words. He never broke eye contact with Jessica, even to the point where it seemed like he was still challenging her. "And nowadays... they'll believe... anything."

Jessica got down to his level. "If I were good enough, maybe Tony would still be alive." She repeated his own words. "But don't think I'll be good now."

One last touch was the final push he needed. She just lightly caressed his cheek and his expression radically changed, showing how scared he actually was. It wasn't a mask, it wasn't an illusion. When Beck realized what was going to happen to him, his eyes showed the girl how afraid of dying he was. After his last breath, he was dead.

And Jessica had killed him.

. . .

a/n: I wrote the ending of this book before Sony 'fucking-stupid' Pictures announced that they were pulling Spider-Man out of the MCU. Obviously, I'm not gonna change it because of that but the next chapter is going to be the last and I'm really sorry for what's about to come...
