"Mai..."Aatos' voice trailed off, watching as Mai slowly pull on her cloak.
"I will be fine-"
"You said that last time,"Floyd interrupted,"But we can't keep you here. They asked for no one to be in the city."
"It's the last day, I will be just fine. It's just one more day, then we can leave,"Mai assured,"Just one more day."

The last day was the most intense match there was with four members from all the guilds that had participating competing against each other, running all throughout the town of Crocus. The three way fight between Erza from Fairy Tail, Kagura from Mermaid Heel, and Minerva from Saber Tooth was the most iconic, and showed just how strong each of them was. In the end, Erza had become the victor. 
Gray of Fairy Tail vs Rufus of Saber Tooth was amazing as well. 
All the fights were just wonderful and intense, having everyone in the stadium at the edge of their seats watching the lacrima screens.
Fairy Tail's team came out victorious, cheers could be heard from the stadium.

"Aatos, Floyd,"Mai caught their attention right outside the arena,"I am going to walk around for a bit."
"Mai, are you absolutely sure that's the best idea?"Floyd asked,"You haven't been well these past few days-"
"I need to,"Mai stated,"I will be back, and as Aatos said, leave first thing in the morning."
"Be safe, we will see you when ever you are ready to come back,"Aatos sighed, defeated by her. He couldn't hold her back from what she needed or had wanted to do, neither could Floyd.

"I will be back before the sun rises,"Mai assured, walking off. The soles of her shoes hitting the man-made stone road below her was the only thing she could hear as small breezes from the night blew on her cape, animating it.
Stars shined next to the small moon in the distance, bringing light upon Earthland. She loved to watch them, stopping to over look the reflecting upon the river, the place she had been when she had met Fairy Tail's Gray Fullbuster.

"You're from yesterday,"a voice spoke out making Mai tense up as she turned to see Natsu Dragneel looking over at her,"You fainted."
She nodded,"Th-That was me,"she stuttered,"I'm alright, though, just went over my limits that time, you know."
Natsu shrugged, beginning to walk closer, stopping at arms length from her, scratching the back of his neck. Mai continued to gaze at him, watching him,"Have you been... crying recently?"she asked, her voice light as she stepped towards him. Her eyes staring at his reddened face, his pink and semi-puffy eyes that were still a little teary and glossed over as a depressing shadow casted upon him.
"Sharp eyes..."he mumbled.
Mai tilted her head,"Is whatever you had been crying for the reason why you did not show during the last challenge of the Grand Magic Games? I had believed the Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail would face any challenge,"she admitted.
"I was asked to not and when I am alone... my head spins and thinks of things I don't want to think about,"he stated,"Even now..."
"So the great Salamander has a sensitive side?"
"I'd call those fighting words,"Natsu stated, a small grin,"You looking for a fight? I'll definitely fight you."
"I don't know if I should honored or terrified,"Mai giggled lightly. Natsu went back to have a straight face, leaning towards her suddenly, his head close up into her neck where she could feel his breath and hear him sniffing her,"Uh-um..."
"You smell just like her, it's almost unsettling,"he stated,"But it's nice."
"What?"she questioned as he stood up straight.
"You remind me of someone I was close to,"he stated.
"I've been getting that a lot recently."
Natsu tilted his head, trying to get a better look of her face, despite the hood, She stepped back, lowering her hood.
"Why do you wear a cloak and hide yourself?"he asked, curiosity taking him into the mysterious girl that stood in front of him.
"I'm hiding from those who might know me,"she admitted making him look at her with a questionable glance,"I am afraid of knowing my past. I may have good memories with remembering, but in honesty, even that scares me."
"You have... amnesia?"
"Yes."
"How could you be fine with not know who you are? Or where you came from?"
"I didn't say I was fine with it, but I just would prefer not to know. It's like a reset. I can start a new life without remembering my old it's easy to if I focus on what's ahead instead of a past that can hold me back of what I am capable of."
"But underneath a cloak."
"I'm terrified to know of my past. I black out from pain almost everyday now because a part of me has the need to remember. I'm scared to being able to remember and seeing how my life was before Floyd and Aatos had found, alone and muddy, crawling and pleading for help... my skull crushed by who knows what..."
Natsu's eyes widened a bit, but then they hardened,"If I were you, I'd want to find out as much as possible. I'd want to know who I was, where I came from. Remember those who cared for me, remember if I had a love that was still waiting for me. I wouldn't give my memories of the girl I love for anything, their precious to me,"Natsu felt himself become teary again, his emotions getting the best of him again,"Besides, I can't have her, so memories are the next best thing."
"Did she... die?"
"Yes, right in front of me. I was going to tell her how I felt once I became an S Class wizard of Fairy Tail, but then another guild, Grimoire Heart attacked the island we were on. I was trapped under boulders as I watched her head being squeezed by one of their members, Kain. She was buried on that island, and that's when I told her 'I love you',"Natsu sighed heavily, feeling depressed again,"I heard it... I could hear her skull break. I could've saved her, but I didn't. After that, my vision was blinded by rage at Kain and I defeated him, getting out from under the boulders that were on me. But I was too late to save her... Lucy, could she ever forgive me?"

"Lucy run and don't turn back!"

"Lucy, wake up"

"LUCY!!!"

"Grimoire Heart will pay!"

"I love you"

Mai took a step back, turning to run but Natsu grabbed her wrist, jolting her back. The force making her hood slowly fall from her head.
"I didn't mean to grab your wrist, it was just-"Natsu stopped, seeing her golden hair fall and begin to flow in the wind. Mai slowly turned her head to see him making his eyes widen,"Lucy..."
She stared at him, a frightened look set in her eyes.
"Please tell me I am dreaming, otherwise I may just lose myself,"he admitted.
"Damn you,"she felt tears run down her face quickly. Natsu raised a brow,"I don't want to remember,"she tore from his loose grip, running from him.
Her feet slammed to the ground, her ankles feeling the most impact as she ran as fast as she could away from the man that had the voice that haunted her mind for months. She declared she didn't want to remember her past, but here was someone from her past and describing an event she didn't want to remember.
Her head pounded and her body hurt, and hearing the fast footsteps behind her as she ran, made her panic.

"Lucy!"he called after her as she ran down one of the many alley's in Crocus.
"It's Mai!"she yelled back at him as he chased her.
"Lucy, Mai, whatever! Just stop running!"he grabbed her wrist, stopping her in the dark alley. Mai/Lucy looked up at him, tears still falling,"How is this possible?"
"I'm suppose to be dead... I know..."she sniffled,"First memory I hear of my past was of me suppose to being dead and buried on an island somewhere, thanks."
"How was I suppose to know that the girl I believed to be dead was standing right in front of me?"Natsu defended.
"Let go,"she yanked her arm back, but his grip was tighter and didn't budge.
"You always were so happy in the guild..."he stated, staring at her with a distant look,"You were beaming when you got the Fairy Tail insignia put on your hand you showed it to me right away. I acted as if I didn't care, but in all honesty, I was very happy. And after that, me, you, and Happy became a team."
"Stop it,"Lucy pulled her arm back, but he instead pulled her to him, having her other hand push against his chest.

"We went on so many adventures I had lost count. You went on a job mostly to stay on top of rent, and your land lady was really scary. You'd always get angry at me and Happy for using your window to climb into your apartment, and you'd Lucy Kick us if we did anything to anger you."
"Stop-"
"You were so caring, kind, clumsy, and a bit emotional. You allowed nothing to stop you from giving up upon the guild, and your smile always made me smile no matter what mood I was in before."
Lucy slowly dropped to her knees, the arm her held to was limb, just hanging,"Please stop..."she begged,"Please don't make me remember..."
Natsu looked down at her,"A part of you needs to know your past, right? That's what you sad to me."
"But I don't want to know!"Lucy looked up at him,"I have been hearing voices in my head, telling me quotes from people in my past or repeats of people who were in my past. Each time I do, I get excruciating pain in my head and gradually, my whole body is in pain. Why I fainted yesterday... was because I had heard your voice... the voice I had heard first when I had woken up say 'I love you'."
"If you remember, wouldn't those voices go away?"
"I don't know,  but I don't want to find out."
Natsu shook his head,"You need to remember your past. I'm going to help you remember."
"You selfish bastard-"
"I'm doing this for your sake! You said you didn't want to but there's still a part that needs to. Need is greater than wants. I would love Lucy to return to the guild, but that will be your decision in the end whether I like it or not, if you want to leave after remembering, I won't stop you."
Lucy leaned back against the building wall, keeping up her upper body. She looked down, beginning to laugh through her pain,"Fine,"she gave in, "It's like I said, Natsu Dragneel would face any challenge."
