Epilogue
Brandon crawled out of the rubble of the ruins. Behind him, smoke rose from the collapsed base. It curled up into the darkening sky like a cloud. Embers and bodies were strewn everywhere. Craters were strewn around the collapsed building, all the work of creepers and TNT.
The sound of footsteps stopped him in his tracks. Slowly, Brandon looked up at the approaching figure through the blood on his face. It gave a red tinge to everything around him.
"You" Brandon said quietly. He stared in disbelief at the approaching man. "You're dead. You were killed in the riots"
The man laughed, but stopped his advance. His white robed billowed around him.
"No. You killed some of my followers, but that's it" Entity smirked. "There's a reason for everything after all"
"So- So it was you-" Brandon started. He gasped suddenly in surprise. Slowly, he looked over his shoulder. An obsidian sword was stuck through his back. A strangled gurgle escaped him, before his body went limp.
Entity looked up from the dead man and stared, unamused, at the new one standing over the body. He let out a sigh, shook his head and put away his own blade that had been hidden behind his back.
"I was just starting to have some fun" Entity complained.
"You'll be able to have fun later too" Herobrine replied coolly. He pulled his sword out of the body and wiped the still warm blood on the hem of his shirt.
"What brings you to ruin everything?" Entity asked, crossing his arms. His red eyes stared out from the darkness in his hood.
"First, stop with the act" Herobrine said with a smirk. "Everyone here is dead. No one else knows besides me anyway. Besides, it's easier to talk to you when I can see your face, Tomy"
Entity growled, but obliged. He took his hood down, and for the first time in a while the wind rustled through his brown locks.
"I have a job for you" Herobrine continued. "You'll have to stop killing for a while, but I think you'll like it all the same" he grinned. Tomy said nothing, but crossed his arms.
"Crystal is pregnant. I need you to keep an eye on her" Herobrine smiled "when the baby is born, and when it starts to show signs of magic, I need you to contact me. Do you think you can handle this?"
Tomy snorted and shook his head. "Handle it?" He said "I could do this sort of thing in my sleep. But, why me?" He asked out of curiosity "wouldn't it be weird if 'entity' just- disappeared. Just like that?"
Herobrine smirked. "Ah, but he won't. He never has before. It's easy to pass on the title to someone else, just like I did for you" he nodded at Tomy. Tomy took a moment to think, then nodded in understanding.
"Who'll take it though? You haven't trained anyone else" Tomy said. Herobrine grinned and flicked his hand.
A grey mist encased the body at their feet. Slowly, methodically, it started to rise. The wounds were healed, sealed shut by the sudden magic coursing through it. He looked up, and grinned. A white robe appeared and covered him. Red eyes stared out. The body stood motionless between them, and Tomy couldn't help but stare in surprise and awe.
"It's an old trick I like to use" Herobrine said as if it were nothing. "It comes in fairly handy at times like this" he looked over at the body and nodded dismissively. The body vanished in a swirl of grey smoke.
"Alright" Tomy nodded. "I'll do it"
Herobrine grinned. "I hope to hear from you shortly" he said. The black smoke returned immediately as Herobrine disappeared.
Tomy took off, forcing a limp and being as reckless as he could, toward the walls of the fox kingdom. He had to make sure he looked the part of a disheveled old friend, caught in the middle of battle, after all.
