CHAPTER EIGHTEEN || THE GREAT ESCAPE

Alex released Glenn from his restraints as Rick did the same For Daryl and Bob. Helping Glenn to his feet, he pulled the gag from his mouth before pulling Alex into his arms. A look of concern in his eyes when Alex broke the hug. how'd she got to them? questions could be answered later, they needed to get out Alive first. 

"if they got problems, we got a chance" Rick stated pulling the machete from the man's hand Alex had shot down. now they had to get back to everyone else. Get everyone out alive. 

"Sounds Like a bomb" Glenn exclaimed looking for a weapon he could use to fight his way out, Alex walked beside him her clammy hands clutching her gun tightly. 

"sounds like a damn war" Daryl grunted as he got up, Alex looked around the room realisation setting in. These people were cannibals. it was nauseating, setting up signs, giving people hope. just to lead them here. 

"good thing you got me then," Alex remarked, Referring to her time in the army. Glenn, Alex, Daryl and Bob followed Rick, Alex staying beside him Gun raised just in case. Her military Training still in full use. As they entered a room, The sight sent a shiver down Alex's spine. Body parts, Blood, Saws.

"you cross any of these people, you kill them.. don't hesitate, they won't" Rick ordered as they walked through the room, bloodied torsos hanging from chains the sight reminding Alex to never leave Glenn's side again. Glenn Picked up a Machete as Alex and Rick approached the door. Glancing out the glass panel they could see the horror outside. Walkers, Flames. The cannibals fighting for their lives against The herd of walkers that had been drawn to Terminus.

"if we run we can get by them. They're distracted." Rick explained looking out at a train car which Alex assumed had people in due to the abundance of walkers surrounding it. her mind wondered to the rest of her family, they had to get to them. 

"We got to let those people out" Glenn reminded yet he was only met with unsure looks from the rest of the Group... Risking time, Risking their lives while their people were still in danger...

"that's still who we are" He stated shaking his head as he looked to Alex wanting her to Agree, There was never a reason not to save people.at least to him, humanity was still important. He looked back to Rick who sighed with a small nod before he opened the door.

Alex Followed her uncle out the door, Glenn, Daryl and Bob on their tail as they emerged from the safety of the room Into a walker-infested terminus. screams of the people terminus had captured filling Alex's ears as the group charged toward the walkers surrounding the Train Car.

Alex Pistol whipped one of the walkers, The butt of her rifle crashing into its skull as the rest of the group Attacked the surrounding walkers. Glenn rushed to the train car upon opening the door a man rushed out attacking Glenn, Causing Alex to spin aiming her weapon toward the man. 

"we're the same!" he chanted his voice crazed As Rick pulled him away from Glenn. The look in the man's eyes one of Paranoia as Alex pulled Glenn around the corner. a scream coming from the man who'd attacked Glenn, as a walker attacked him.  Glenn's desire to be a good person putting him in danger, she knew it would happen. she knew his kindness and generosity was too strong, yet she wouldn't change it. she'd never change him.  

"come on!" Rick ordered, Blood pounding against Alex's eardrums as Glenn escaped her Grip the baseball bat in his hand coming down on the Walker who attacked The man. Daryl Immediately grabbed Glenn's shirt Pulling him back around The train Car, The man's Unwavering humanity Putting him in Danger as Alex sent him a look.

"We got to double back" Bob stated, His voice full of worry as he peered out from behind the train Car, Walkers quickly approaching. there were too many, they were everywhere.

"A is that way" Rick scoffed, Dried blood glued to his face referring to The train Car their People were trapped in. They had to get to them. Alex's stomach churned as she thought of the people stuck within the train car, the people she'd left...

"We don't really got a choice do we," Daryl said holding Glenn against the train Car ensuring he wasn't Seen. Aleex's Heart raced as memories flashed before her eyes. This was a joke.  

"This is not Afghan" Alex Scoffed reminding herself where she actually was. raising her weapon as she Rounded the Train car, Looking through the scope she took a breath. steady and controlled. Pressing her finger against the trigger she began shooting down walkers. Her clammy hands gripped the rifle.

"Alex!" Glenn exclaimed As more bullets flew toward the walkers. Said bullets not coming from Alex's Gun. cannibals. Glenn escaped Daryl's grip as he pulled Alex Away unsure of where the bullets were coming from, His heart pumping as he tried to protect his girl. As Glenn pulled Alex To safety Rick and Daryl rushed off...

"Rick!" She called hoping her uncle could hear as she tried to escape Glenn's grasp to help him, she couldn't lose Rick. She called his name again hoping he'd turn back. Yet she couldn't see where he and Daryl had gone. Adrenaline pumped through her veins as she looked up at Glenn.

"Lex we've got to be smart. Give him a minute" Glenn begged his hands gripping her waist as she rolled her eyes at his words. Alex's lungs heaved as she started up at Glenn begging he was right, hoping he was right. and he was.  Seconds later Rick and Daryl Returned, Two guns in Hand, As he handed a pistol to Glenn. Alex's heart racing hoping they'd get back to their Family left in the Train car.

"We don't have to Double back." Rick's voice was Cold as he looked down at his niece giving her a subtle nod.

Alex and Rick's muscles contracted as they fought to Open the Door of the train Car. With their combined strength they managed to Wedge the door open. Hearts racing, lungs burning. as they finally reached their family. 

"come on! fight to the fence!" Rick exclaimed to their People as The uncle-Niece duo stepped back their Family Emerged from the Train Car. And the fight Began. they were halfway there. they were together. now they just needed to escape. and that couldn't be that hard right?

Rick and Alex automatically back to back raising their weapons at the walker's approaching from both sides, Hearts pounding as they fought to survive. Alex, Rick, Glenn and Daryl fight off the approaching walkers as the group quickly made their way out of the train car. 

"Carl! Josh stay with them!" Alex ordered Watching as the Two boys emerged with Sam and Eli. Her finger returned to the Trigger as she tried to keep the Walkers away from the people she cared about. The two men she trusted ushered Carl and Josh out of the train car. looking after them.

"Come on let's go!" Glenn ordered to the group as a path cleared, They followed Rick Rushing through the walkers, Killing them. Alex shot down as many as she could while keeping an Eye on her family. Glenn raced to Alex as unbeknownst to her, A walker was quickly gaining on her, His baseball bat connected with the thing's head as a grunt left Glenn's lips.

"come on" Glenn exclaimed his heart racing as his free hand fell to the small of Alex's back, urging her to move quickly. protecting her. He needed her safe, and he knew she was more focused on everyone else's safety rather than her own. he'd have her back, he'd look after her. 

"go move!" Alex yelled as they approached the fence, Immediately wanting Carl and Josh over first. Helping she watched as the group began to Climb over before she turned to help Rick Fend off more walkers. buy them more time. her finger against the trigger of her gun, sending more walkers limp bodies to the floor. 

"Alex! Come on!" Eli shouted dragging his best friend to the fence, Alex nodded Climbing over the fence, a sharp pain shot through her back as she did. A wince escaped her lips as she reached the floor of the other side watching as everyone else Escaped the horrors of Terminus.
