CHAPTER 9 : A Wedding Memory
My eyes widened as I saw Uncle Jang, looking at me through his wide glasses.
SUNG YEOL : Welcome home dad. (-bowing-)
ME : (-settling my hairs-) Welcome home Uncle. (-slight bow-)
UNCLE : What happened? Were you both fighting again?
SUNG YEOL : Yes.
ME : (-in sync-) No.
I whipped at him with a death glare while this time, he stuck out his tongue at me.
UNCLE : (-laughs-) Grow up, you two.
He casually walked to the couch before sitting on it. And while that happened, I rushed to Sung Yeol with a hit on his arm following by.
SUNG YEOL : (-whisper shouts-) Yah!
Showing no bother to him, I stood with a poker face as Uncle promptly looked at us then.
UNCLE : (-looking at Sung Yeol-) So, how was your flight? And what about the "important thing" you wanted to tell me?
I blinked confused at Sung Yeol, completely aliened out at Uncle words. Sungyeol, however, simply smiled with an enigmatic feel to it.
SUNG YEOL : Deh. (-after a short silence-) I wanna get married, Dad.
UNCLE & ME(unison) : WHAT?! To whom?
SUNG YEOL : (-nervous smile-) We are both settled in our own paths and had been dating for 3 years now. So, we decided to upgrade our relationship.
UNCLE : (-nodding with a smile-) Well thought, son. I was pondering over your marriage anyways. Invite her with her family for dinner tomorrow.
SUNG YEOL : (-surprised-) Oh! Really? (-big smile-) Thanks, Dad.
Uncle passed on a simple nod as he made his way to his room next. Then there was me– still nonplussed at the brief conversation between them.
SungYeol, with his hands tucked in his pockets, smiled at me and bent in a little to match my height as he faced me.
SUNG YEOL : You okay?
I was totally overwhelmed by the two of my best buddies' sudden marriage announcement– too much for me to take in a single day.
Though, I was happy for them, a part, just a tiny little part of me felt envious for I had no luck with the same. However, instantly banishing the rather gormless thought off my system, I was snapped out by SungYeol as he snapped his fingers at me.
SUNG YEOL : Are you here? (-chuckles mockingly-)
ME : (-hits his arms-) Yah! Why didn't you tell me before?
SUNG YEOL : You just heard. Isn't that enough? (-teasingly-)
ME : (-huffs-) Anyways, who is she? Do I know her? (-smirks-)
Before he replied, he got a call and blushed looking at the caller ID.
ME : (-chuckles-) Are you blushing? Who is it? (-peeking in his phone-)
SUNG YEOL : (-hiding his phone and speaks calmly-) None of your business. (-pushing my head with his index finger-)
ME : So cheap. (-frowns-)
He started walking to his room totally ignoring my comment. But, just as he was about to recieve it, I ran and snatched his phone to see the name.
SUNG YEOL : Yah!! Give it back! (-attempts to reach my far stretched arm-)
ME : (-greatly disappointed-) "Baby"? Can't you save it by her name?
SUNG YEOL : (-taking it back-) Doesn't concern you. (-mocks-)
He received it quick, pressing the phone against his ear and walked to his room while talking to the other line.
SUNG YEOL : (-over the phone-) Onh~ Sorry for being late, a cat was bothering me.
ME : (-laughs unbelievably-) Yah! Am I a cat?!
He slowly vanished into his room completely unbothered about me.
A smile eventually curved the side of my lips seeing him radiant. I was happy to know he had someone to love and feel loved, someone who could elate him to the moons and heavens.
In the years that passed by, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't bring my heart to hate my husband. Although he abandoned me to die alone, I hated to admit it, but I missed him deep inside or maybe just my body did.
>Next day
As I accompanied Seo-In to her shopping, I was caught in pure surprise to learn her fiancè was none other than my brother, Sung Yeol.
Infact, we all were quite amazed, not to lie, at the late revelation that we lived under the same quarter ever since childhood.
SungYeol and Seo-In didn't know they were neighbors, let alone knew each other.
Soon as we were done with her wedding gown, we headed to a food court– tired and waiting for Sung Yeol to bring our drinks.
I and Seo-In were carrying out a random talk when I got a call from my work.
It was a heads up for an assignment that I was alloted as an extra work, to compensate for my 2 days' leave.
After ending the call, I rested my phone casually on the table with the lock-screen flashing a few notifications. The wallpaper, however, couldn't escape past Seo-In's witty eyes.
SEO-IN : (-taking my phone-) What is this? Are you Taehyung Oppa biased? (-excited-)
ME : No just. It was a cute picture so I used it. (-shrugs-)
SEO-IN : Are you an Army though? (-continues speaking herself-) You know Jin Oppa, right? He is my bias. Even though I was in Australia, I was always connected to Korea through their music. Jin oppa is so handsome~ (-day dreaming-)
SUNG YEOL : Who is handsome? (-placing the tray-)
ME : Don't worry, it's definitely NOT you. (-looking at him-)
I and Seo-In chuckled at his frown, triggered by my tease.
SUNG YEOL : YAH! You-
SEO-IN : (-cutting him off-) You are the most handsome Oppa. (-doing aegyo-)
ME : (-cringing at her aegyo-) I told you not to do that, didn't I?
SUNG YEOL : (-both ignoring me-) Is it? Thanks honey. (-smiles-)
ME : (-sarcastic-) Aigoo~ You love birds. I so wanna smack you two with some maturity. (-sighs being completely ignored again-)
At night, we had dinner together with her family and finalized the wedding date. She already had it decided but only waited for the elders' approval for the same.
The marriage was a week away. Seo-In was very excited and so was I. Nothing could be more perfect than having my best friends getting married to each other.
>>On the wedding day
The sacraments assayed flawlessly, welcoming the couple to the onset of their newfangled life. I took my seat relieved off my part in their wedding as the priest started the ceremony.
Soon after their vows, they kissed in the end– their friends' cheerful hoots and tease filled in the classy yet calm hall. I smiled at the scene, but was suddenly gripped by a sharp pain in my head.
A wedding scene flashed back in my mind– ruptured images of an embellished hall. Blurry visuals, and unfamiliar voices rambled inside my head– dazzling and deafening my senses.

??? : (-looking deep into my eyes-) Are you ready, Kimchi?
ME : (-smiles-) Onh! Oppa.
. . .
PRIEST : You may kiss the bride now.
We kissed with pure love and passion, our friends cheered on with loud tease and hoots in the background.
??? : Yah, Taehyung-ah! Stop now, do the rest at home.
He laughed and broke the kiss with my stomach having a weirdly pleasing sensation, adding a tint of blush to my cheeks.
TAEHYUNG : (-looking at me-) Are you okay?
I nodded with a smile meeting his eyes occasionally.

"Tae...hyung?" I mumbled with a puffed breath,"Why couldn't I see his face?"
An immense headache replaced my wonderment with muffled growns of pain, leaving my mouth. To avoid any attention, I quietly sneaked out of the hall with the best straight face I could wear on. The constant hammering pain did not quite help me in that crisis.
"What is happening to me?"
"Why did I recall something after so long?"
I couldn't help but wonder and take the millions of questions, gushing my inside as I walked to my car in the open air parking lot. I was breathing a little unusually heavy.
A sharp peeping sound abruptly took me with all its ever so high intensity. It left me weak on my knees, causing me to drool down by my car that I had just reached.
The still silence– dropping on the floor, followed by constant resonating voices called full command on my sanity. I pressed my palms against my ears as if that would stop the blast of sounds, greedily reaching my nerves.
"Kimchi... Are you ready? Taehyung-ah stop now...Kimchi... You may kiss... Are you okay?...Onh, Oppa... Kimchi?..."
With all my non-existent energy, I tried crawling myself inside the car– heat blowing out of my body with sweat wetting my forehead. All, only to miserably fail with yet another flashback of the same accident. The one I had in the hospital three years back. But alot more distorted, this time.
My eyes let pass the tears– they had been efficiently trying to hold in– at the short recollection of something so darn painful but all too frustratingly fuzzy.
The pain at this point numbed my spine as I rested my head against the smooth surface of my car– hardly keeping my tired lids open, lips parted to gasp in air and the floor feeling glacial against my searing shank.
Almost in the verge of passing out, with the same blurry vision, I could faintly discern a male figure rushing towards me– to help, I prayed.
The sound of a familiar voice fell on my ears which I felt being impaired seconds ago, when the pecuilar silence slipped in wrecking me all the way down.
??? : (-in deep concern-) Are you okay?
__________
Hey guys, are you liking the ff so far?
And sorry about the flashback being so long.
