Jason's pov ~a few weeks later~

I was sitting on the couch and looked up to see Sky walking down the stairs. "Good morning sleeping beauty." I said to him. He just waved and walked into the kitchen and began making coffee. I sighed and looked back at the TV sadly. He's been acting different lately. He's been in the room most of the time, not letting me in. I sometimes hear him talking to himself. It's scaring me to be honest. I'm worried about him. Then I watched him walk back upstairs to the room. I sighed and then got up, walking out the door. I just need time to think.

Sky's pov

I sat in the room sipping at my coffee. I then heard the door slam shut. I winced at that. He's probably mad at me. I thought. I sighed and layed down. I didn't want to tell him that I wasn't eating. I can't do it. Tears began to fall down my cheeks. Soon enough I was sobbing loudly. Then I heard the bedroom door unlock. I didn't bother to look up. I just kept sobbing. Then I froze. I felt a warm embrace engulf me. I looked behind me and saw Jason. I then buried me head into his chest. "What's wrong love?" He said but I just shook my head. "Please tell me. I'm worried about you." He said caressing my hair.

"B-but... I-i....." I didn't continue.

"You can tell me, I won't get mad, I just want to help you." He said holding me close.

"I... I haven't been e-eating." I said, the tears flowing much heavier now.

"It's ok, I'm not mad. But you have to eat. You'll get sick..." He said, sorrow in his voice.

"I'll try...." I said. He then picked me up bridal style and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He took me downstairs and set me down on the couch. I watched as he walked into the kitchen grabbing a plate of toast and setting it in front of me. I just stared at it. He sighed then picked up a piece holding it in front of my mouth. I hesitated then took a bite. I smiled and took another, and another, and another. Before I knew it the toast was gone. Jason was smiling and so was I. He hugged me tightly.

"See, you were hungry." He said and I nodded. Just then I heard the door burst open. The person rushed into the room we were in, heavily breathing.

"Seto?" I questioned. Seto stood at the doorway, panting. Once he regained his breathe he said something that would change everything.

"They found something at the lab Jason was held at. They're coming for him right now." Seto said. He must have been keeping surveillance on them with a spell. Jason had a sudden death grip on my arm. I hugged him tightly, then looked over at Seto.

"What do we do?" I asked.

"Run, flee, anything that can get you away from here as soon and as fast as possible. You guys will have to go off the grid. So I suggest living with Mitch and Jerome in the forest. They won't find you for a while if you go there." Seto explained. I nodded and got up, helping Jason up. We packed our things and anything else we would need. Jason let out a small whimper.

"What's wrong love?" I asked him, kissing the top of his head gently.

"I-i'm scared..." He said, his voice barely above a whisper. My heart sank. I then hugged him tightly and securely.

"No matter what I'm here for you. I promise." I said, kissing his cheek. He smiled a bit and nodded. We walked back to the living room. Seto was standing by one of the windows, peeking out of the curtains.

"Go," He said, "I'll fend them off for as long as I can." He claimed without any hesitation.

"But Seto, what abou-" He stopped me before I could finish my sentence.

"Brice very well knows the promise I made to you guys after Jason disappears Adam." He said, his voice having a small tint of sadness. The promise he made to us...

~ Flashback ~
Seto's pov.

I sat in my room with my friends. They're faces were stained with sadness, especially Adam's. I thought about how Jason disappeared. It didn't make any sense, he went to get some food and then he never even shows up at the McDonald's. He was most definitely kidnapped, or the police would have found his body by now.. I stood up, clenching my fists. Adam looked over at me as I slammed my fist against the wall. "Seto..?" Adam said.

"I won't let it happen again." I said through clenched teeth. The others looked at me, slightly shocked. "I swear on my life that I'll protect all of you from any harm!" I said, tears in my eyes.

"S-seto calm down, you do realized what you're saying right?" Brice said, looking at me with his bright blue eyes.

"Of course I know what I'm saying! I'm willing to do anything to keep this from happening again! Even if it means making the greatest sacrifice." I said, everyone looked at me with shock and worry. "I promise." I said, a small purple ring bursting from my hand. The promise can never be broken now. Adam then got up and hugged me.

"Thank you Seto." He said. I nodded as I began to feel tears drip onto my shoulder.

Adam's pov.

I looked at Seto and he looked back at me, his eyes showing every emotion he was feeling. Sadness, anger, fear, determination, and love. His friendship is one of the most loyal one's I've ever had. I smiled. "Thank you Seto."

"You're welcome Adam." He said, smiling at me. Then he looked back to the window. "Go. And don't look back, ok?" I nodded and so did Jason. We then rushed to the car and shoved all of our stuff into the back. Jason got in the passenger seat and I got in the driver's seat. I opened the garage and drove out. I then turned left, heading for the forest. We didn't even get too fat when we heard something that horrified the both of us. Gunshots. Jason looked over at me.

"A-adam.." He said, worry filling his voice, he was worried about Seto, but I did what Seto told me. I didn't look back. Instead I floored it, speeding down the road, tears threatening to start poring down my cheeks. After a few hours we finally reached the forest. We parked the car in a dense area were it was well hidden and we hiked the rest of the way to Mitch and Jerome's tree house. We climbed up and I knocked on the door. After a minute or two Mitch opened the door.

"Hey Mitch.." I said. He looked at me, hearing the tone in my voice and knew exactly what was happening.

"Come on in you guys. I'll get a room ready for you two. And yes, the walls are sound proofed." He said jokingly. Jason blushed deeply and I laughed a bit, walking in with him. I'm glad Mitch is always able to figure out how to lighten the mood even in the darkest times.

Seto's pov.

I held up a shield as I tried to hold then men back. They were government officials. Firing at me with all they've got. I growled as one began to speak. "Just surrender Jason and we won't hurt anyone." He shouted. My eyes narrowed.

"That's a lie!" I shouted, sending a few blasts back at them. "You hurt Jason and you will again!" I stood my ground. Holding up the shield and firing back at the men. Then I felt something I began to dread. My magic was faltering. But how? I looked over at the man who had spoken. My eyes widened when I saw the large metal object he was holding up. It was and item that can make a sorcerer's magic weaken little by little til they can't even levitate things anymore. Of course it's temporary but still. I then aimed for the object, firing at it. But it failed. The man moved the item right before the blast hit. I then looked around desperately for anything that could deem useful in the situation. But since the fire Adam and Jason haven't gotten much for their house. I looked back at the men and used all the magic I had left to fire an incredibly powerful blast at them. But because I had to use all of my magic, I had to bring the shield down. The blast was a success and blew most of the men to next week, but I clung to my side. A gunshot wound near my stomach. If I don't get out of here now I'll bleed out. I thought as I began to make my way towards the back door. I then grabbed the table clothe from the table and tied it tightly around my stomach and lower back area, it should slow the bleeding just enough. I then climbed over the fence and broke into a run. The pain forced tears down my cheeks. I looked back towards the house and stared in disbelief. Several more men were chasing after me, including the one with the item. I choked back a sob as I looked forward and kept running. But alas. My speed began to slow due to pain and blood loss. I soon collapsed to the ground, my conciousness fading. I felt myself being lifted off the ground and carried into a car. Then everything went black.

Hey guys! Sorry for the HUGE lack of updates. I've been busy with school and stuff. But hey look it's an update! :> I hope you guys enjoy this update! I'm planning on trying to update every Wednesday during homeroom so yeah. (The song is epic so I wanted to add if for the battle/fighting scene between Seto and the government officials.)
