Many years later)

Every year sonic visited amys grave and it still hurts knowing that she's gone.

Sonic: "Another year since she passed away...im here again... alone as usual, oh sweet chaos why dose it still hurt so much!?"

???: "you okay, sonic? " he turns around and was surprised to see shadow here.

" Shadow! Yeah im... just great...never been better. what are you doing here shads? he spoke quickly Wiping away his tears.

Shadow : "am i not allowed to pay my respects for a friend who did her best to live her life? I come here every year usually waiting for you to finish though". He replied walking towards the blue hedgehog to stand beside him.

Sonic : " really? B-but.. why?" he questioned

Shadow : "just trying to be polite, I didn't want to intrude on your grief. But this year i you figured you might want to know your not the only one who visits". He said

Sonic : " no, i mean why do you visit her?" sonic asked looking towards shadow in curiosity.

Shadow: "because I cared about her, she was friend and also a sister to me. I come here because it reminds me of how much i miss maria. The least i can do is visited her grave and keep her memory alive" sonic looks at him then looks down at Amys grave sadl.

"Shadow? "

"Yeah? "

Sonic : " did, did she tell you or anyone else that she was dieing?" sonic asked keeping his head down.

Shadow : " no, she didn't and i don't think she told anyone else either" shadow answered.

Sonic : " Shadow, you had maria in the past when she died...dose it ever get any easier, the pain ? Shadow looks at him with wide eyes at his question but sighed.

Shadow : " never. But it doesn't always hurt so much, its never easy to lose someone you love, never. but it will get better eventually, and it wont always be that hard" shadow replied while looking up at the sunny sky.

Sonic : " i miss her. All the time even now, it feels wrong not being at her side. I was always there for her when she needed me... except when she needed me the most" sonic clutched his fist tightly in utter guilt.

Shadow : " sonic there was nothing you could do for her, she was very sick and it was simply her time. Take comfort in the fact for her that it was fast and painless." shadow said looking towards sonic with his arms crossed.

Sonic : " that doesn't change the fact that I should've been there when it happened.not stuffing my face at a stupid bangquet! " sonic yelled in sorrow trying to fight back his tears.

Shadow : " sonic, even if you were there, there was nothing you could do"

Sonic : " but why? Why didn't she tell me she was dieing of illness i could done..something!, anything! for her
But I left, and she died while i was having fun" he yells. Shadow looks at sonic knowing how much pain he's going through.

"Sonic why do you come here every year? On the day you failed the person you loved most?" He asked looking at him seeing sonics shock expression from his question.

Sonic:"Because what if i forget who she was and how she meant to me" the blue hedgehog answered as his ears went down in sadness and defeat.

Shadow : " but wouldn't that be a good thing? "It wouldn't hurt then" he replied as he heard sonic sigh.

Sonic :it's not worth it, even if it hurts i don't want to forget her" Shadow stood there for a while and thought about something looks towards sonics sad face and walked away.

Shadow: come with me sonic, there's something I want to show you" shadow said as he continued walking.

Sonic : "Sigh ok shadow im coming" he spoke while he had his hand on amy grave before following shadow.
