Final Chapter
"HARU, GET THE BLOODY HELL BACK HERE RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR I'LL-" I chased the (h/c) haired boy around the house, trying to get him to give me my engagement ring back.
"(y/n), I swear to God if you threaten to brutally murder our son I won't bake any cookies for a year."
"But Karrrrrmmmmmmaaaaaaa-"
"No, (y/n). If you murder our son then I will disown you."
"...But you didn't adopt me, you married me."
"I'll adopt you just so I can disown you."
"That's harsh, dude."
"...are mummy and daddy getting divorced?" I looked to the side, seeing a short red-haired girl with (e/c) eyes that were starting to tear up. I bent down, picking her up gently,
"No, sweetie. Daddy is just what good children call an idiot. Now, repeat after me: 'daddy is an idi-'"
"STOP TEACHING OUR DAUGHTER TO INSULT ME!!!"
"IT'S A GOOD LIFE LESSON. SHE'S HALF BRITISH, YA KNOW?!?!"
"Daddy is an idiot." I smiled proudly at the small red head who was smiling cheekily.
"That's my girl, Rin."
"Daddy is an idiot and mummy is very pretty." the (h/c) haired boy came from the corner with a mischievous smile, sticking his tongue out at Karma.
"Ooooh! An insult towards daddy and a compliment towards mummy? I've raised these kids well."
"Well I think mummy is VERY pretty!"
"Well I think mummy is SUPER pretty!"
"Well I think that daddy is the biggest idiot ever!"
"Well I think that daddy is a marshmallow butt!"
"Like mother like daughter." Karma sighed and facepalmed, shaking his head in disapproval. "I wish at least one of them could like me."
"Awwwwww, I like you. Now give me food before I stop." as if on cue, the egg timer in the kitchen rang, signaling that the sweets previously placed in the oven were ready for consumption.
"Cookies are ready, kids!" Karma screamed, picking up Haru and carrying him towards the kitchen.
"Yay! Daddy, you're not an idiot anymore! You're pretty too!"
"...Haru, please never say that again."
"So you WANT me to call you an idiot?"
"Personally, I think that daddy is very pretty." I piped in with a smirk as I led Rin into the kitchen.
"Not as pretty as mummy." Karma put down Haru and walked towards me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pecking me gently on the lips.
"Don't call me mummy, it's getting kind of creepy." I pushed him away and winked, reaching for the oven gloves. "Okay, kids. Both me and daddy have made cookies. Eat both of them and we can compare!" I pulled out the two trays and placed the finished cookies on some plates, giving them a few minutes to cool.
"I don't want to eat mummy's cookies, they look like rocks!" Haru whined, sticking out his tongue.
"Well that's a bit bloody rude. First you steal my engagement ring, and now- wait, where is my engagement ring?" I looked towards him, seeing him trying to hold back a laugh. "GIVE ME MY RING YOU BLOODY GIT! I'LL FIGHT YOU FOR IT!!!"
"Wait, (y/n)! Don't fight him, he's only 6!" Karma ran towards me, trying to stop me from getting Haru, but slipped and fell, making Rin giggle.
"Are you okay daddy?" she sat on his chest, making him grunt and ruffle her hair.
"Yeah, I'm fi- wait, (Y/N)!!!" he sprinted into the living room, finding me pinning down Haru and tickling him harshly.
"Where is it! Tell me or I shall torture you more!!"
"No more, mummy! It's in my pocket! Take it!" I took the ring and stopped tickling him, making him breath out, recovering from the previous bursts of laughter. I picked him up and walked towards the kitchen, but stopped when the doorbell rang. Opening it, I was met with the grinning face of Maehara.
"Sup, Hiroto. It's been awhile."
"It's been 2 days, (y/n). We've not seen each other for 10 years before..."
"Your point is...?"
"Anyway, I'm here to see my niece and nephew."
"You do know that I'm not actually your sister, right?"
"Uncle Hiroto!" Haru and Rin yelled in unison, running down the corridor to meet the blonde at the door.
"Hey, kids!" He ruffled Haru's hair, picking up Rin and twirling her in the air afterwards.
"Hey, look what I taught them. Haru, Rin, what is daddy?"
"An idiot!"
"And what is mummy?"
"Very pretty!"
"Good job, you have earned the right to my cookies."
"You're not actually gonna make them eat that, are you?" I turned around, seeing Karma come from the kitchen.
"And what's wrong with my cooking?"
"Child services will take them away if you make them eat that."
"Sorry, (y/n), but I've got to agree with Karma on this."
"You're all traitors!" I felt a smirk stretch upon my face and sneaked upstairs to get a large red scarf, using it to cover my mouth and put on some sunglasses before standing at the top of the staircase. "You have driven me to this! I am the master villain, Scarf woman! Only the best heroes in the world cam defeat me!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I shall take this weakling as a hostage!" I grabbed Rin and picked her up, running away with her in my arms.
"I'm not a weakling! You're so mean, mummy!"
"My name isn't mummy, it's scarf woman!!" I struck a pose, just in time for Haru to jump on me and knock me down onto the sofa.
"HA! I have defeated you, I'm the greatest hero of all!!"
"AGH! I'm down! Tell my mother I loved her!" I dramatically pretended to die, making the two children giggle.
That night~
"Okay, kids. Do you want me to read you a bedtime story?"
"Can you sing us to sleep, mummy?" I smiled at the young girl.
"Of course, what would you like me to sing?"
"The one you sang last time! The one about the river!!" The (e/c) eyes boy yelled excitedly.
"There's a river in my soul
Slowly drifting water guiding me home
How it calms me as it flows
Drags my heart back to the shore
There's a moon up in the sky
Turning every shadow back into light
The stars are dancing in your eyes
As they dance, they glow so bright.
As they dance, the glow so bright.
Oh, this can't be just a dream
Everything makes sense when you're with me
I just want to keep you safe
You deserve that every day
There's an earth beneath our feet
And it smiles when you are walking with me
Beneath the moon that lifts you
Watch over me and keep me safe when I'm asleep
We were made to feel alone
Incomplete and on our own
But by the river in my soul
I swear to God I've found a home.
I swear to God I've found a home.
Oh, this can't be just a dream
Everything makes sense when you're with me
I just want to keep you safe
You deserve that every day
You deserve that every day
As the wind blows through the trees
There's a warmth of you inside of me
Take my heart and let it be
By the river, set me free." I looked at the children, both of them fast asleep with a peaceful look on their faces. I kissed both of their foreheads with a smile, stroking their hair. "Goodnight, I love you."
(A/N: Hey, it's Kai. This is the final chapter of the story so thank you all for reading.
