Chapter 7
BOOM!!!! Double update! Take that! And that! Woohoo!!!! *does happy dance*
Hazel POV
I leaned against the bathroom counter, staring at myself in the mirror. Something had changed in me… I just couldn’t place it. It must have been the new information. Every time I blinked, I would see a memory.
Blink.
“Zach, who was that?” I asked tightening my grip on my teddy bear. Zach didn’t make eye contact as he said,
“Oh, no one.” I crossed my arms, accidently dropping my teddy bear.
“Why can’t anyone be straight with me?” Zach was about to say something, but I cut him off, “No Zach. I don’t want an excuse. I know when I’m not wanted.”
Blink.
I sat in the same chair I always do when Leo is working on the Argo II, with my book opened to page 62. The book was from my birthday, so I was trying to slow the process down. I had other books to read, yes, but Rick wanted me to read this one first. I was hoping he wouldn’t end the story on a cliffhanger again. That was just torcher.
Blink.
Even after the meeting, Chiron’s comment still made me blush. After the potted daisy incident, Leo and I went to the bunker to grab my stuff. It was a little awkward, but I got my things easily, without a long conversation.
Ugh… It was starting to get annoying…
Then, there was a knock on the door,
“Hazel?” It was Frank’s voice. I stood up straighter and exited the bathroom, turning off the light,
“Come on in.” I said glumly. Frank eased open the door and looked at me with concern.
“Hazel.. Are you okay?” I didn’t meet his eyes.
“Yeah.. yeah, I’m fine.” Frank stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to me and sat on the bed, motioning for me to sit with him. I sighed and rushed over to him. I threw my arms around him and began to cry.
“Wha.. What’s wrong?” Frank asked. I didn’t respond. I hugged him tightly, and he hugged me back.
“Frank…” I said, my voice cracking a little. He let go and looked me in the face, worry written across his facial expression.
“Hazel, are you sure you’re okay? Are you stressed?” I twisted his shirt under my fingers, deciding whether or not to tell him. Clover had only not to tell Leo… I sighed,
“No.. It’s more than that…” I sat down next to him and began to tell him the whole story.
Leo POV
I walked into my room and hung the blue shirt up in my closet. To lose that shirt, was to lose that whole memory…. I sat down on my bed and put my head in my hands.
What was wrong with me?
Then, my mind started to wander. Behind my eyelids, a picture began to come into focus. I opened my eyes, but it disappeared. I closed them again and the picture came back. It was Clover.
(VISION)
She raised her hand. A fat lady pointed to her with a ruler.
“Christians believe in one god, but in three people in the Godhead.” The lady nodded,
“Exactly correct. How did Christianity become a major religion?” She raised her hand again. The lady pointed to her again.
“Constantine, a roman empire, converted to Christianity and made the whole roman empire convert as well. Since the roman empire spanned a large area, it became huge.”
(END VISION)
I opened my eyes and rubbed them.
I must be going mad. Clover couldn’t be in school. It wasn’t possible. She was at camp, training and-
“Aaahhh!” I exclaimed. A splitting headache pulsed through my brain. Someone knocked on my door and Jason stuck his head in.
“Leo?” he asked, “You okay?” He saw me at the end of my bed, gripping my head. He stepped into my room and gripped my shoulders,
“Leo! Can you hear me?” he asked. I screamed and gripped my head harder. It felt as if my brain was about to explode.
“Piper! Coach! Frank! Someone! Leo needs help!” Jason called.
The last thing I remember was seeing Clover’s face behind my closed eyelids before passing out cold.
