Who are you exactly?
So much for a Happy Christmas, I sighed.
*************************
I just went back to my room sulking, crying, hating and resenting everyone I ever knew in my life presently (mainly my Mum and Dad). I really didn't feel anyone was to much importance to me anymore.
My mum didn't even care to come check up on me, well it's not that I would let her anyways. If I had to suffer because of her, she might as well suffer too.
Even if my dad didn't care for me at least my mum should have, especially since she knew how hurt I was when.... I'm just over thinking about this stuff.
I think I must have cried a lot or something because I started to have this crazy joint pain and it was not funny, I wailed in pain. I reached out to my closet to grab some antibiotics I had gotten sometime back that helped me relieve the pain. I took in the first dose but it didn't relieve it as much, so I took another and I felt much better. I know it was abuse but it eased my pain.
I decided to rest on my bedroom couch and scroll through Instagram, I saw many people posting how their Christmas went, I felt a bit of jealousy as I scrolled down looking at cute families, having good times, I hate to admit but I hated it. I threw my phone to the other side of the bed as I rubbed my head frantically trying to calm myself down before I did anything stupid like post how annoyed I am about people being happy about Christmas, when I heard a beep sound from my phone. It was my friend calling. Great!
"Hey, Clarissa, what's up?" I smiled sheepishly "what's up girl... Merry Christmas! So basically, I don't know where to start from, my family and I went for ice skiing and it was fun, I'd send you the videos later, because right now I'm at Disney land about to go on that rollercoaster I've been dreaming for weeks. Anyways, how was yours?" I could hear the joy she felt and it made me bitter "oh good for you Clarissa, you must be really lucky that your parents didn't get a divorce on Christmas day! Woohoo!" I said frantically not hiding any ounce of jealousy. I didn't know why I said that but I although not regretted it but wished I hadn't and I was pretty sure Clarissa was lost in thoughts "Scarlet, is anything wrong?" She asked. "Wrong? Noo... I'm great. Why would anything be wrong?" I spat out then continued "Bye I'm going to do something ' really fun' now, bye" I said acting all coolly nonchalant. "Urm... Okay" was the only thing she replied before she hung up.
As much as I hated leaving my room, I was kinda getting bored of it and decided to check up on mum. She was in the kitchen baking her gingerbread Christmas cookies, she always made them every year and it smelt good. I poked my head to see what she was doing. "Oh Scarlet, you're finally out" she beamed with joy. "Yeah... I'm still angry though!" I pouted. She chuckled lightly, "take your time hon, I won't force you, and when you're ready to talk I'll always be here" she said sweetly and I just ignored her. She really didn't think her sweet voice could change my mind did she?
A few minutes later, my mum knocked on my door "sweetie, I know you're still mad but I was thinking, could we at least go shopping or making have lunch... You know, just let's do something" she suggested resting her head on the door. I was still mad, but having a nice time on Christmas wouldn't hurt and besides I needed to buy more drugs for my pains.
"Okay, but just so you know... I'm doing this because I need some fresh air!" I assured her. "Sure honey, I'll be waiting for you in the car" she squealed in excitement.
I got dressed into something chic and headed downstairs, I didn't really feel the need to do any make-up, after all I was mourning my parents divorce, I got into the car and mum tried to make a conversation with me but I pretty much didn't give her the same energy she gave me and she just stopped.
I don't know how but it felt like that was the longest ride I'd ever been on. It was silent throughout, not the normal peaceful silence, but the tensed one. I sighed in relief when we finally reached our destination.
Mum tried to hold my hands but I pulled away quickly and she didn't force it, she just gave out a forced smiled and headed her way "okay sweetie, you have the whole day to pick whatever you want, I'm paying" I could sense she was hurt but I wasn't ready to sympathize with her just yet.
I first of all went to the drugs section and searched for the drugs I needed, I bought enough that could last me at least a month. I don't really remember exactly when these pains began to happen but I knew I noticed it more when I was 12 years old.
I loved shopping, it's where I replaced old things for new ones and get things I don't even have. I got new dresses to wear for school when the holidays were over, and I got some other items I needed.
When I was pretty much done, I called mum that I was ready and we waited in line to pay in and leave. I crossed my fingers in hope that mum wouldn't see the drugs, I didn't want to be asked unnecessary questions for just a few aches I had in a while. When we were done, I thought we were heading home straight, but she took us to the amusement park. I was upset a little bit, at least she should have told me to have a say in it before she brought me here! But I decided to let it slide. And I'm glad I did because I had a splendid time. Within that time range, I felt as if I had no worries, I forgot about dad and all what had happened but that only lasted till we came back home.
Home, gosh I started to hate the word home, I hated that word so much. Home, ughh, how could my life end up like this?! I mean it was one thing not seeing your parents regularly but another not seeing one of them at all, like I mean forever. How I wished everything I saw and heard were just a dream the other day and none of these ever happened.
I sighed as I took my cloths off to have a warm and relaxing shower, for some reason it always made me calm. I made some lemonade, kept it besides me in the bath tub and sat there using my phone, I scrolled through TikTok to watch some funny videos, sighing repeatedly as I was exhausted.
I wasn't 'always' used to Soo much mental stress, like I mean I'm fucking rich! The keyword there meaning 'always'
I already got used to my parents not being at home so that doesn't count, but this was different, yes I knew what dad did was horrific but that didn't result to him leaving right? I resented him yet I still craved for his presence, he WAS my dad after all.
Dad and I were really close compared to mum. Yes they both didn't have time for me but when he was around he would always do anything to please me.
Mum on the other hand, was always exhausted when she came home, although, she still tried to make time for me and her, she would mostly fail those promises.
Each time I thought of the incident, it scared me. I had never seen that side of dad before.
I sighed as I lay on my bed, there wasn't really anything interesting in my life anymore again anyways. This was probably the worst day of my life.
I took a deep breath and then closed my eyes, trying to sleep. I HATED this Christmas, it was more of a nightmare to me than a holiday.
The next morning, I woke up to find my breakfast served in bed. I just rolled my eyes at this, probably a way of mum apologizing, she'd have to do better than this to win me over.
I slid in my bunny slippers and headed to the bathroom, I flossed my teeth and sat besides the food.
On the tray, she had left a small note ' hon, I'm out to get some groceries, I'd be having some guests over tonight, I know I should have talked to you about this, but please try to show some hospitality to them. Hope you enjoy you meal, I love you'. Yeah right, if she loved me, she would have considered the divorce first.
I think this would be hard for me to deal with, now I wasn't just thinking about how much pain it caused me because I loved them, no! I thought about how it would affect me in school, what would everyone say if they found out my parents, divorced on Christmas day, the day of 'joy and happiness'?
Not just school, what if my friends were all fake? You know... In all those movies where if you're in a situation like mine or maybe a rich girl became poor, your friends start to give you this snobby bitchy attitude?

At the time mum came back from the store she was really late, so she hurriedly prepared dinner and I decided to apply some of my skin products, it was more like a routine I do twice a week.
So I went to the toilet and applied some scrubs. I was in the middle of doing my ' thing' when I heard a knock on the door, I was pretty sure it was mum so I just ignored it. She probably wanted to tell me the guests were here.
When I was done I washed my face and applied a ' black charcoal' scrub on my face and decided to rest on my bed. I took the glass of lemonade I had made earlier in one hand and in the other was my phone as I walked to my bed.
When suddenly something from my bed jumped up to me ready to attack. My drink slipping from my hand and my phone making a loud thud as it crashed to the ground. The thing and I began screaming like lost Hyena's.
When we were sure we were both humans, we stopped screaming. The 'thing' appeared to be a boy and now he was laughing. "What is that ok your face, I thought you were an alien" he said in between laughs
"ALIEN?! what are you doing in my bedroom?!" I yelled at the boy. "Well... When I knocked and no one replied, I assumed I was just welcomed and surprise surprise". I'm pretty sure I wasn't listening to what he was saying because I was assessing him with my eyes and I noticed I didn't know him. I wanted to scream "help! There's a weirdo in my room thinking I'm an alien!" But I thought that would be a little too much, so I did only what normal people would do.
I took a deep breath and asked "who are you?" "Err... A boy" he said in a 'duh' accent. I just rolled my eyes and asked again "no really, who are you exactly?"
I'm pretty much out of ideas.... So it might take a while to publish more
