Selena and Serena were the 2 royal twin sisters of the starry realm, both were blessed with powerful Telekenetic powers , they raised and lowered the sun ( Serena) and moon ( Selena), Selena the youngest started to feel jealousy and resentment towards her older sister because she was in her shadow their subjects worshiped her and gave no appreciation for her starry night , and she turned evil , into modern day blood moon , she left the Realm in hated and anger, she looked for a host to possess and she found Artemis,  she saw a lot of herself in Artemis and she possessed her .
