Part 84 - And the drama begins

***Arush's P. O. V***

I looked at Sahana through the corners of my eyes, who was biting her lower lip. with her face slowly turning pink. My hand was somewhere soft and warm, and the way Sahana was fidgeting told me that it was right between her legs.

I looked around to find my sister animatedly talking to Reyansh, who was looking at her with a dazed expression on his face, that clearly said that if not for the presence of the rest of us, he'd be kissing her here right now!

Scrunching up my face at that rather disgusting thought {no... kissing isn't disgusting, but thinking about my sister's love life is!} I shot my gaze to the fucker Dhyan, who was seated next to Anjali.

And I couldn't help but frown at the same dazed look on Dhyan's face as Anjali chatted with him, his eyes moving from her eyes to her lips, and his cheeks tinging pink, just like her's!

Oh my God... is it what I think it is?!

Unable to contain the feeling of relief any longer, and feeling exceptionally gleeful, I pressed Sahana's thigh lightly - on top of which my hand had rested, intending for her to look at me.

But instead of looking at me, her cheeks tinged to a bright vermilion and she bit her lip before shooting me one nasty glance and pushing my hand away and then, getting up.

"Water" she murdered, before dashing off, leaving me confused.

What had happened??

I looked around, to find Reyansh beaming as Ahana spoke to him and my heart fluttered to see the love Reyansh had for my sister. At least he's going to treat her right and look after her like a queen!

My phone buzzed at the same time, earning the attention of the others in the room, and glancing at it, found Sahana's name flashing on the screen.

Frowning, I wondered why she was calling me, and deciding to go and talk to her directly, I got up.

"Uh.. gotta take this" I indicated my phone to the others, before dashing out.

Once outside the room, I looked around, to find the 4 pair of parents chatting away loudly and laughing down in the living room, but Sahana was nowhere to be found. So she must be in her room?

Disconnecting her call, I pushed the door of her room open, to find my angel sitting on the edge of the bed, her phone in her hand, pouting to herself. The moment she saw me, she stood up, and I'd just closed the door shut behind me when I felt all the wind getting knocked out of me - quite literally!

Having unceremoniously dumped her phone in her bed, Sahana had rushed to me, before putting her arms around my waist and hugging me tightly. Resting her forehead on my shoulder, she nuzzled closer to me, making me smile.

"What happened Sonu?" I asked, putting my arms around her and drawing her closer to me.

"Only Bhai can call me Sonu... Nobody else" she said against my chest.

"What why? I'm your lover I can call you anything I want" I said, smugly, squeezing her bum lightly.

"Yes you're my lover and you can call me anything...  but bhai's my bhai and he can't call me anything....hence why only he can call me Sonu" she said, snuggling against my chest, making me go all warm and fuzzy - why is she so cute?

"Hmm so what happened my mahjabeen?!" I asked, kissing the top of her head.

"Okay firstly what's with this heavy word?!" she asked, pulling away from me and looking up at me with her pretty eyebrows cocked, looking all the more adorable.

"So what am I to call you then?! Isn't mahjabeen fine?! It means moon-faced-beauty" I said, expecting her to turn all cute and cuddly and maybe peck my lips?!

"Hawh!! So you're saying I have a lot of spots on my face?!" she asked, glaring up at me.

"What?! NO!! Isn't moon like the symbol of love? I just meant... you glow like the moon and... I love you" I stuttered under her glare, pulling her more into me.

"Oh you want me to call you pati parmeshwar, and mi amor, and baby and what not... but what do I get in return?! Moon spots?" she huffed, her eyes narrowed to slits.

"What the heck?! No Sahana!!! Okay fine what do you want me to call you then?" I asked, unable to keep the desperation off my voice.

"Mujhe kya pata?! You're the one calling me... think of a proper name" she hissed, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Why are you angry Sahana?!" I asked softly, pulling her closer to me and looking deep into her eyes. The anger vanished from her eyes as she shifted them to mine, and I saw her eyes slowly turning glassy as they glistened with unshed tears.

"I don't want to marry that guy... I want to marry you" she whispered, sniffling a little.

"Han toh?! I am marrying none but you okay? You're the first girl I've ever even properly looked at... you're the only girl I'll ever fall for, you're the girl that rules my heart... you're my queen... we'll get married, and start a family, and have little versions of you and me... and we'll grow old together" I said honestly, to which she didn't reply, but putting her arms around me, held me so tight like she was afraid I was gonna just disappear into thin air.

"And if you stop clinging to me like a monkey, then I have something important to tell you" I whispered, kissing the top of her head.

"Clinging to you like a monkey?! ME?! You're calling me a monkey?! Abhi batati hu" she hissed before letting go off of me. I had only a split second to wonder what's going on when Sahana clutched my hand and started dragging me more into her room. Standing me in front of her bed, she glared at me once and muttering under her breath, got on top of her bed, standing right in front of me on the bed, facing me.

"Monkey huh?" she hissed before putting her arms around me and jumping. I had only time to gape with my mouth hanging wide open when she put her legs around my torso, her arms around my neck, and clung to me - literally like a monkey!!

I put a hand around her to hold her tightly to myself lest she falls, while her hands were loosely wound around my neck, her face inches from mine as she glared down at me.

"This... Mr. Arush Sharma... this is called clinging like a monkey... now since you've already stated that I cling to you like a monkey, I ain't letting go off of you" she huffed and pouted, looking more adorable than ever.

Chuckling at her cuteness, I gave her bum another gentle squeeze before I sat down on the bed, with her still in my arms and she still clinging to me like a monkey.

"That's all good Sahana, but if we don't go out now they're all gonna come here, looking for us, and find us in this... uh... rather compromising position" I said, looking deep into her eyes and cupping her face.

"Han toh?! Since I'm clinging to my pati-monkey, it's okay.... what was it that you'd said?! That we'll have our own little family and mini versions of us and grow old together na?! Toh theek hai... we'll stay like this... or you hold onto me like this and go out I don't give a tiny rat's ass!! You tell them that I'm your clingy little monkey and that we're gonna get married and have tiny monkeys of our own and grow old together - the two little monkeys that we are" she pouted, and unable to stop myself, I moved my face forward to kiss her pout, only that she turned her face at the last moment, making me kiss her cheek instead.

"What the fuck Sahana?! C'mon you're in my arms sounding so cute at least let me kiss you!" I whined, to which she huffed angrily.

"I'm your clingy little monkey.. I don't know kissing" she huffed, her eyes turning glassy.

"What's happened Sahana? Why are you acting like this?" I asked softly, wiping the lone tear that had escaped her eye.

"How can a possessive asshole like you be so cool when my parents have down right branded you as unworthy of me, and then,  suddenly spring up this whoever that dude is in the other room?! How can you act so chilled out when my parents have already started looking up for engagement dates for me and that dude?! Aren't you worried as to how to persuade both our parents?!" she asked innocently, tears falling down her cheeks now.

"Oh my God Sahana you're so naive!" I couldn't help chuckle in relief - so this is all it was about! Phew!! And here I was wondering what I'd done for her to act so irritable?!

"Naive?! Oh so I'm a naive monkey now huh?" She hissed and pouted, making me chuckle again.

"Oh my darling haven't you noticed?! Back there when the six of us were sitting and talking?! I was lost in you, like how your brother was lost in my sister... and...." I trailed off for a bit of dramatic effect, pulling Sahana more into me.

"And?! Aaj hi batao ge k agle saal?" she hissed in anger, making me smirk.

"And how Dhyan was lost in Anjali..." I said finally, to which Sahana's eyes grew wide in realization.

"Oh my God!! That's right!! Even di's acting all blushy blushy today.... and even that dude... he... oh holy fuck he was gaping at her all day!!!!" Sahana whispered in delight, her face gleaming with excitement.

"Exactly!!! Now what I think is that our parents have a good idea of what's cooking between you and me... and hence they created this whole drama of Dhyan... they want to corner us, exactly like how they did with Reyansh and Ahana..." I said, to which she agreed.

"Oh how can papa do this?! Oh shit... you think even bhai and bhabhi were in on this?" she asked, looking a little lost.

"Maybe... but well, now we know that they know.." I trailed off, to which Sahana pursed her lips.

"This is turning out to be like that incident from F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!" she sighed, rolling her eyes.

"What incident?" I asked curiously.

"Arre... so Monica and Chandler are sleeping with one another okay?! And they also happen to be in love... but their friends don't know about it... well no Joey finds out... and then even Rachel finds out... but then when they go to see Ross's new house, then even Phoebe finds out... so Rachel and Phoebe try to get the two love birds to confess... but the plan backfires when Monica realizes that they know... so she and Chandler decide to fool Phoebe and Rachel, but then even they realize that they know... so they..." she trailed off as I cut her in.

"Woah woah woah... who knows what and who does what?" Who're they?! And what do they do?! And what do they realize?!" I asked, my mind completely not having grasped anything past Phoebe finding out... whoever this Phoebe is!

"Ugh point is that they all try to fool one another but all the truth comes out in the end... and seeing this as a rather funny and very unrealistic, it is rather shocking to know that a similar thing's happening in our lives!" she chuckled, shrugging.

"Right... so what's the plan now?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Oh leave it to me my dear monkey.... leave it to me..." she smirked, with the air of someone plotting something incredibly twisted - like exactly how they show the villainess-es in these hindi daily soaps to be!

Still smirking, she got up from my lap and standing neatly on her feet, adjusted her dress again before coming her fingers through her hair.

Then, looking down at me smugly, she grinned before bending down to peck my lips and whispering "Oh I love you my dear monkey" and giggling, she walked out of her room.

Wondering what she was upto, I slowly got to my feet and made my way out of her room, but stood frozen at my step as I heard her voice from downstairs saying "Ma... pa.. I agree for this marriage".

For fucks' sake was she really going with such a predictable and cliche move?!

But still wondering how her parents would react, I moved closer to the landing of the first floor, from whence I could see clearly the scene that was unfurling below. Only my parents and her parents were there, and judging from the tea cups, the birth charts, and the fruit bowls on the coffee table, the pandit ji had long come and gone.

I had to purse my lips to stop myself from laughing as I saw the look of incredulity on her parents' faces, as well as mine at those words of Sahana.

"What?" her father snapped first, before her mother shot him a warning look.

"Han papa... what you and ma said.. he's a really nice guy... and I know he'll look after me well... and we'll have an amazing life ahead" she beamed, to which her father choked, before mine and her parents shot worried glance with one another.

Seizing this moment, Sahana shot her glance up to me, and finding my shocked gaze, grinned sheepishly at me before winking and biting her lip shyly and looking away.

"Are you sure beta?" her mother asked, and this time I had to really stuff my hand into my mouth to muffle my laughter.

"Arush?! Where's Sahana?! What's going on?" Reyansh asked as he, Ahana, Anjali and Dhyan came out of the room and stood next to me.

I shook my head, trying my best to look somber, before indicating to the scene going on downstairs.

"Yes aunty... what you said is right... my parents have found a really good guy for me... I am ready for this marriage" Sahana beamed at my mother, and this time, it was Dhyan and Anjali who chocked before passing worried looks between one another, while downstairs it was my mother and Sahana's mother who passed worried and what-the-fuck glances between one another.

"But beta I thought you and Ar... I mean... I thought you didn't want to marry him" my mother covered her track, though she looked horrified by what Sahana had just said.

"Han aunty... but now that I've spent some time with him, I realized that you were right... Arush has a nasty temper but Dhyan is too sweet and gentle and definitely nothing like him.... he is really an amazing guy" Sahana beamed at my mother, who had her eyes almost popping out of her skull!

While Dhyan chocked again and looked at Anjali with a horrified expression, I saw my mother too shoot a worrisome glance to Sahana's mother, whose eyes too looked ready to pop out of her skull.

As everyone stood in silence, Dhyan's parents entered the room with Anjali's parents, beaming at one another, but their gazes and expressions faltered looking at the thickening tension in the room, and the horrified glances that our parents kept shooting to one another.

"Uh bhaisahab... pandit ji has decided a date in March, and another in April for the weddings.... the roka for all the weddings can take place this Wednesday apparently..." Dhyan's father broke the silence, addressing mine and Sahana's fathers.

"But... isn't it too soon?" dad and Sahana's father asked together.

"Arre how's it soon? The brides and the grooms are ready na papa... uncle..." Sahana chirped brightly, making me look away and cover my mouth with my hand to stop my laughter at the look of horror on all the parents now.
