My heart is still broken
After years of despair

This trivial relationship
Will never be repaired

They say I was young
Too young to understand
The depths of pain, of love, and utter despair

They don't understand
Age isn't a tell
Of how one can feel
Or how a heart can swell

A heart is a heart
Young or old
If it breaks into pieces
It makes no difference
Of how young or how bold

Tears and Tissues won't cover the cracks
Drugs and Dreams won't grind the axe
Every nick and crick that's etched on my heart
Would feel no different if not still broken apart

All the pieces smashed
I'm left to clean it

To fix it
and tend to it
since nobody cares

I want him
To piece back my little young heart
And take back the words that broke me apart

Nothing in life is perfect or fair
Especially heartbreak, and love and despair
It has not age limit
No shortage of distance
It can take anyone
No matter the resistance
