Xal-Ax was raised on the planet mars On Earth-2. from the time he was young  Xal-Ax (Zal-Ax) was trained to be a martian warrior for the intergalactic guard. Xal-Ax honed his many powers throughout the elite training program. Now considered the most dangerous being of Earth-2, Xal-Ax defends and protects not only earth and mars but also the other planets within his galaxy. After two thousand years of peace, Xal-Ax was called upon to protect earth-2 from a new evil menace. 

This new villain who calls himself "King Apocalypse". He was quickly defeated by the martian warrior. Although King Apocalypse was defeated and sent to the intergalactic prison, his uprising ended the age of peace and gave rise to many more enemies of peace and goodness. Since then the Intergalactic Guard has grown to include three more heroes; Berzerko, Doctor Boombastic, Starstatic. These four are the Mega Guards who guard the world and the rest of the planets.

During the time on Mars with Xal-Ax

Xal was at home he was 9 or 10 in human years. His mother had come home, she smiled at her son. She wondered if he would be like his father or her or himself. She got food ready for them, and then it happened. A Martian came in with a laser gun and held his mother Nyssa-Ax with the gun pointed to her head. Xal says "Please, don't hurt my mother. Please. You can take whatever you want, just don't hurt her."

The Martian says "I'm from the future, and I'm your arch-enemy, King Apocalypse. And I've come back in time to kill you, for arresting me." Nyssa says "He's just a kid. Leave him alone!" Apocalypse says "Your boy arrested me, now it's my turn to make him suffer for what he's done. Say goodbye to Mommy." Xal says "No! Leave her alone! Mom, it's going to be ok." he nods to let her know it's ok and nothing's going to happen and she nods.

Apocalypse says "That's sweet, But I am going to kill her." Then he snapped her neck. Xal fell to his knees, then Apocalypse throws his mother near him and he picks her up and holds and he starts to lose it "No, No, No, no! Please! Please, God, no. Mom. Mom! Mom, can you hear me!" he kisses her forehead and continues to hold her. Apocalypse smiles and says "That's what you get for sticking me in that Hell hole you call a cell."

Xal looks at him with tears in his eyes. His eyes begin to glow, His Heat Vision started to activate and he fires it at Apocalypse's chest. Xal gets up and walks over, picks him up, and begins to throw punches at him. He hit him with 3 blows to the face and pulls back a punch and says "You'll pay for killing my mother, asshole!" then he goes back to hitting him and continues till a man yells "Stop! Enough!" Xal stops hitting him and looks and sees his father Cal-Ax. 

Cal looks and sees his wife on the floor dead. Cal walks forward with his hands up and says "Son, calm down. I know I see your mom is gone, but it wasn't your fault son. Stop hitting him."  Xal looks at him with such anger in his eyes and says "He killed Mom!" as he picks Apocalypse, pins him to the wall, and says "And He killed her for the stupidest reason I have ever heard of." Apocalypse smiles and says "Don't worry, Xal. Your mother will see you soon enough."

Xal activates his ability Pyro-Kinesis and lets go of Apocalypse and fires it at him. His father Activates his ability Cyro-Kinesis and fires it at the end of Xal's fire and stops it from reaching Apocalypse. Xal sees his father stopping his fire from reaching him and says "Why did you do that?" Cal says "You were going to kill him, son." Xal says "He killed mom, He deserves to die!" Cal looked at his son and sees pain and suffering there. He says "Son, your mother wouldn't want you to do that."

Xal says "I don't care. He killed mom, she was the only one who cared for me while you're gone." Cal says "I know, son." Xal says "Sorry, Dad. But he deserves to die." He turns to Apocalypse and activates his Fire Force Field and shrinks it into a ball. Cal stands in front of Apocalypse and says "You can't kill him, son. I have to take him into jail." Xal stands there looking at his Fire Force Field Ball, and with it in his hand, he does a run on the wall and throws it on Apocalypse's face and burns half of his face. Xal looks at his father and says "Now, you can take him."

Cal looks at Apocalypse's face and says to him "You're a dumbass for going after a kid that has weird abilities. He gave you second-degree burns." Apocalypse says "Don't worry, I'll kill him for sure next time." Cal picks him up and throws him in a means of transport and he is off to prison. Cal hold his son till he fell asleep, Cal looks at him and says "You'll have your time at him eventually, son. Eventually." as he leaves and goes to bed himself.
