Emma's POV
Emma woke with a start at the sound of her alarm beeping. She stretched and checked her phone where the alarm read 'Wedding Day!'. With a huge smile she climbed out of bed and took a quick shower, changing into some jean shorts and a Spider-Man: Homecoming tshirt because why not. Some people mentioned having 'cold feet' on their wedding day, but Emma was not scared at all. Tom was the most perfect man ever, not only was he handsome but he was funny, sweet, thoughtful, and just all around amazing. It had been about two months since he had proposed and she had spent the whole time wedding planning, finding the perfect caterer, the perfect venue, and, of course, the perfect dress. Over those two months she had only talked to her mom once, the day after she had proposed, and she had been anything but supportive. After having such a close relationship with her for the first eighteen years of her life, it was really weird spending the nineteenth without her. Lily had convinced her to talk to her again today and she had grudgingly agreed. Grabbing her stuff, she headed downstairs where Lily was waiting for her with her iced coffee and donuts; she had a little before to get them food.
"You ready?" Lily asked, handing Emma the food as she hopped in the driver's seat.
"Ready as I'll ever be," she replied, closing the door behind her as she slid in next to Lily. They drove in a comfortable silence to Emma's house.
"Ok, let's go." Lily stepped out of the car and walked over to Emma, opening the door for her.
"Do I have to?" Emma moaned, wishing she didn't have to try and convince her mom to let her marry her fiancé, she was an adult! Her mom shouldn't be able to tell her how old she has to be to get married! Lily reached over her and unbuckled her seat belt, grabbing her arm and dragging her up to the front porch.
"If you really love Tom and want to marry him, than do it. You and I both know you'll always regret it if you're mom isn't there for your wedding day."
"Fine," Emma sighed. She rapped on the door and heard footsteps as her mom walked up to the door.
"Yes?" She asked, opening the door wide. When her eyes landed on Emma they looked at her longingly before quickly turning as cold as ice. "What do you want?" She questioned harshly.
"Can we please talk, Mom?"
"Ok, come in." Her mom opened the door and the girls walked in. Emma looked around and smiled to herself, it was exactly how it was when she left. They were ushered over to the family room and sat down on the couch. "What is it, dear?"
"Please hear me out and don't interrupt until I'm done, ok?"
"Fine."
"Mom, I love you and Tom both. Today is my wedding day and I really want you to be there with me, I really do. Please." Emma sighs when her mom rolls her eyes.
"I still think 19 is too young for my baby girl to be married. You're not even old enough to drink champagne at your own wedding!" She's about to get up, defeated, but she hears Lily's clear voice start from beside her and sits back down, turning to look at her friend.
"Look Mrs. Applegate. I've had plenty of boyfriends, we all know this, and only one of them has ever felt even half as true as Emma and Tom. They're perfect together, Tom is the most responsible guy I know. He has been the perfect gentleman to Emma, respecting her boundaries and just being an all around great guy. I don't know how else to explain it, but you need to know that this wedding won't be the same without you. Please, just reconsider."
Her mom sighed deeply, looking at Emma's pleading eyes and Lily's blazing green ones. "Ok, fine. I get it, if I had met your father at your age I would have married him in an instant." Her face lit up, a grin reaching ear to ear. Her mom rarely ever talked about her dad except to warn her about driving when she turned 15 and could get her permit.
"Thank you so much!" She exclaimed, rushing over to her mom and wrapping her arms around her neck. "I have one more thing to ask. Can you walk me down the aisle? People normally have their dad do it but..."
"Of course, honey!" her mom cuts her off, kissing the top of her head.
"Ok good because we already have a dress for you," Lily laughs.
"Wait, what?" Emma asks, her eyebrows raised.
"When I got my dress I got an extra one for you just in case Emma convinced you." Her mom laughed into her hand.
"Ok, I'll come with you and help you get ready and you can give me the dress." Emma smiles and lets go of her mom and they head to Lily's car and hop in. When they finally reach the venue, they grab the dresses, make-up, and so on from the trunk and carry them to the dressing room. They all change into their dresses and when Emma steps out of the bathroom, her mom and Lily dress.
"Oh my gosh, Emma!" Lily exclaims.
"You look absolutely beautiful, dear," her mom coos.
"Aw thank you, you guys do too," she replies with a big smile. They sit her down and put on her make-up. When they finish with hers she helps with theirs.
A/N: Emma's dress. Isn't it gorgeous?!
This is Lily and Mrs. Applegate's dress except there's only two of them.
Lily's hair on the left Emma's on the right.
Eventually they're all done and Emma smiles as she takes her mom's hand and walks up to the door, taking the bouquet of light pink and cream roses from Lily. She smiles as "Here Comes the Bride" starts playing and Lily walks out carrying an arrangement of yellow flowers. Emma takes a deep breath and grips her mom's hand tighter as they open the door and step out into the aisle.
Tom's POV
"You ready, Tom?" Haz asks Tom, snapping him back out of his thoughts. It was almost time his wedding with Emma and he was super nervous. Sure she was the best thing in his life, besides Haz of course, but marriage was a really big commitment, especially since he was only twenty. It was September so the weather was just cool enough for Emma to get the outdoor wedding she was hoping for without him dying in a tux. She had made almost all the plans, apparently she knew what she wanted since she was thirteen years old and it sounded perfect so he went along with it.
"I guess," he sighed.
"Wait, what's wrong?" Haz asked, his blue eyes concerned.
"I don't know, but I'm just nervous. She's so perfect, how is she in love with me?"
Harrison snorted, "How could she not? Do you know how jealous I am of you, Tom? I love Lily with my whole heart and I trust her completely, but whenever I'm around you with her I get nervous. What if she falls in love with you instead of me? Do you know how many girls out there have celebrity crushes on you Tom? I bet any of those girls would give an arm and a leg for you to just talk to them for a few days. You're Tom freakin' Holland, you can do anything! I promise you, Emma loves you and she won't stop."
"You sure?"
"One hundred percent. Now let's get ready." Tom follows Haz obediently, but he's still nervous. Emma's literally the girl he's dreamed about ever since he started to want to date, she's so perfect, and he's just him. How in the world did he get so lucky? He finally got dressed and Harrison gave him a small smile has he patted his back reasuringly and they walked up to the front of the space. Emma had done amazing with the decorations. They were outside beneath a pavilion in case they were unlucky and it rained. Behind them was a lake that was surrounded by soft, green grass. Beneath the pavilion were rows of white chairs facing the lake with green vines tying small bouquets of flowers to the sides of the aisle seats. He turned around and faced the pastor who was leading the ceremony and introduced himself.
"Hi, Tom Holland, pleasure to meet you."
"I know who you are. Even though I'm a pastor that doesn't mean I live under a rock," the man joked. "Mathew Forester, but you can call me Matt."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Harrison, Tom's best man." They all turned around to face the front when the guests started filtering in. It was a relatively small wedding. On his left their right was his mom, dad, Harry, Sam, and Paddy, his grandfather and his Nan from his dad's side, along with a few of his closest friends from the MCU; Z, Jacob, and RDJ. On Emma's side there was Ben from her school who had gotten them to karaoke together, an elderly couple who he assumed were her grandparents, and some of her college friends he had never had the pleasure to meet yet. They were all gazing in awe at the celebrities beside them who were casually introducing them to the fans, so clearly used to it that Tom had to hold back laughter. As "Here Comes the Bride" starts, Tom gets even more nervous than ever, what if she says 'I don't'? Out of the door walks Lily in a beautiful v-neck dress, he feels Haz's eyes behind him staring intently at him and he had to resist the urge to say 'get a room'. When Emma walks out everyone stands up and turns around and Tom's nerves just melt away in a heartbeat. She is the most beautiful bride he had ever seen, her dirty blonde hair down except for a braid around the top of her head, a tiara veil resting on top stopping just above the dip of her dress, a beautiful lacy white dress with a flowing skirt and mesh marked with floral printed lace. Beside her is who must be her mother since she is almost the spitting image of Emma. She has her lovely hair and beautiful face, but her eyes are a deep emerald green that blend into a blue at the center just before the pupil. In Emma's arms is a beautiful arrangement of roses that she carries with her until she reaches Lily and she hands them to her. Mrs. Applegate gives Emma a kiss on the cheek and then walks to the front row and all the guests take a seat.
"I hear that you've written your own vows?" Tom and Emma gaze at each other and nod. "Ok, Tom, you may begin."
"I have never believed in true love, I thought it was just a fairy tail that Disney made up to make us all look for something that never existed, until I found you, Emma. Ever since that day in the grocery store my life has never been the same. Every single second of every single day I'm thinking of you, of your adorable laugh, of your beautiful eyes, of the feeling of your hand in mine. I am yours forever, Emma, and there is nothing that anyone could ever say or do that could change my mind." When he finishes his eyes are glistening with tears but he blinks them back, it's the moms' job to cry on the wedding day, not his.
"Tom, you are the love of my life. Every day I wonder how I got you, the Tom Holland, to even glance at me. Everything you do makes my heart soar, when you tell your stupid jokes that aren't even that funny, when you try and make a cake with me and fail, even though your brother's a professional cook, even when you just look at me. You are as close to perfect as it gets, even when it comes to your arachnophobia, which, don't worry, I'll take care of every spider that dares to get close to you." Tom can't help but to snort a laugh along with their audience, his cheeks flushing. Of course she had to bring up his fear of spiders in front of all of his colleagues, on his wedding day. "I promise you, Tom, that I will try and be the best that I can so that I'll be enough for you." The pastor snaps his fingers and Haz lets out a whistle, causing Tessa to come running up to them. On her back was a pack that held the rings. Tom grabbed a beautiful silver band with diamonds encrusted around it, but he couldn't see Emma's, she pulled it back too fast.
Tom takes Emma's hand and holds it out, taking the ring in his hand and slipping it on as he spoke. "To the one who shares my life, my love, my dreams. The one who supports me through everything, I give you this ring with all of the love in my heart. As a ring has no end, neither does my love for you."
Emma pulls her hand out from behind her and holds out a simple golden ring. "Take this ring as a symbol of my eternal love. I will follow you anywhere and everywhere, hand in hand, heart and heart." He smiles at her sweet words and watches as she slides it onto his finger, but when she tilts it he sees an inscription etched in the inside of the ring: I love you more. With a grin he leans forward and whispers in her ear, "Impossible. I love you so much more." She blushes as she stares into his eyes.
"Do you, Thomas Stanley Holland, take Emma Jane Applegate, to be your wife? To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part."
"I do," Tom replied, smiling into Emma's blue eyes.
"And do you, Emma Jane Applegate, take Thomas Stanley Holland, to be your husband? To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part."
"I do," she said. He felt her eyes burning into his as Matt said the words they've been waiting for escape from his lips.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." Tom grins ear to ear as he takes Emma and leans her over his leg, kissing her sweetly as the crowd claps before letting her back up on her feet. They make their way through the congratulating crowd and to the middle of the area behind the chairs: the designated dance floor. The crowd disperses and Tom smiles as "Can't Help Falling in Love" starts playing. Emma rests her head on his shoulder and he wraps his arms around her waist as they slowly dance, her warm breath on his shoulder. They sway to the beat and soon enough everyone else is on the dance floor with them, dancing with friends or with dates. When the song finishes, a large three-tier chocolate cake with vanilla frosting is rolled out on a cart. They feed each other the first piece with their fingers, as tradition goes, but when Tom misses and gets a little on Emma's cheek, she retaliates by smearing a whole chunk across his face. Laughing, Emma takes a fork and scrapes the frosting and cake off of his face and he quickly follows suit. Soon his mom comes up behind him and gives him a wet napkin and does the same for Emma and they wipe the remaining cake off their faces. After they caught their breath and finished laughing, they got actual slices of the delicious cake, and Tom couldn't believe how amazing just a simple chocolate and vanilla cake could be. When everyone had eaten, they went back to the dance floor and continued dancing to a variety of songs, some fun like "Don't Stop Believing" and some slow like "Thinking Out Loud". Eventually the sun started setting so they said goodbye and thanked all their guests before Tom grabbed Emma's hand and led her to his car, opening the door for her to get in the passenger seat and sliding into the driver's himself.
"Emma, you look absolutely amazing. I can't believe I get to be your husband."
"You don't look to bad yourself," she replied with a smirk.
"I love you so much."
"I love you more."
"Never in a million years," he replied with a smile. He leaned over to Emma and his lips touched hers. Their breathing ragged as their lips locked together passionately, he was still in awe that such an amazing girl could be his. When they pulled apart he smiled at her and turned on the radio where their wedding song, "Can't Help Falling in Love", started playing for the second time that day. Tom smiled and reached over with one of his hands to grip her hand as he steered with the other, pulling out of the parking lot and onto the road as they drove to Blue Ridge where they had rented a cabin up in the mountains. When they finally arrived, he unpacked their luggage and helped her carry it inside their beautiful wooden cabin. They sat down on the porch once everything was unloaded and stared out at the now pitch black night sky. Since they were so far from everywhere else, the stars shone extra bright next to the quarter moon. Still gazing out at the sky, he felt a weight on his chest and looked down, seeing that Emma had rested her head on his chest but was still looking out. He wrapped his arms around her and smiled, wishing that life didn't have to go on and he could just stay like this forever.
