Luna gasped in pain. The rest of her body was gone, she was frozen in place as the Night Stars all around her circled in, preparing to pounce. Luna wished she would move, wished her wings would carry her away from this mess.

Using the last of her strength, Luna turned her head slowly, jerking it to the side. She could not hear anything, could barely see five feet in front of her. But like always her instinct took over, and she reached over to the invisible force that was beside her. But her hand did not move.

    Luna felt the handle of the invisible knife being held, and distantly she thought it was getting pushed in even further. Then the pain was gone. Luna felt the feeling returning to her legs, just as quickly as the numbness had come, it disappeared. Luna glanced around quickly, skimming how the battle was going, and was surprised to find herself crouched on the ground.

    I thought I was standing... Luna thought. She hated being close to the ground, it was not a safe position. She saw Karry, in his wolf form attacking Eclipse. She looked up and saw Echo standing over her, fighting off the Nightstars, giving Luna enough time to fight off the remaining numbness, and clear her head.

    Luna looked over at Karry again, just in time to see him make a lunge toward Eclipse for the final blow. He froze mid air and fell to the ground, withering in pain. Luna shouted out to Echo, wanting her to leave her here and save Karry instead. But Echo seemed to not hear her.

    Luna jumped up and felt her head spin, she did not have much strength left.

    She saw Echo looking at Karry, and felt left out again, she forced herself into their minds and heard the conversation in their heads.

    No, we're not. Echo thought determinedly. She left like she missed something, by the way the conversation started off. Luna felt the sadness in the minds words, was Karry going to die? Luna saw that an idea popped into Echo's mind. Dragon flames.

    But you can't do it. Karry said softly. And Luna is weak.

    Luna could not stay quiet any longer, I'm recovering. She thought determinedly.

    Luna? Echo asked.

    Yeah. Luna replied.

    Don't do it, Echo. Karry warned, weak, but Echo reassured him.

    I can do it. Echo thought. So can I. Luna thought, she made sure that they could not hear this.  I didn't know I was a Metamorphic before, and I've done the phoenix, haven't I? Echo thought.

    The only thing I can say is good luck... Karry whispered, his mind fading.

    Luna felt tears come to her eyes as the threesome conversation became a twosome as Karry blacked out. She looked determinedly through her tears at Echo.

    Together? Echo asked.

    Together. Luna confirmed.
