 The Transcendence Series

2. What inspired the idea of your series? 

A dream I had while I was staying in Luxor, Egypt, the once capital of Upper Egypt in the time of the pharaohs known as Waset.

Three

4. Is it the only series on your profile?

 Yes

5. What do you desire readers take away from your series?

Themes of honor, courage, sacrifice, mortality, the supernatural and the transcendence of love beyond the boundaries of space and time.

6. Is your series complete or ongoing? 

Complete

7. What are your future plans for your series? 

I might release some books that are related to the back stories of the characters in it, I have one I already wrote for Tanu-Hepa and those who are on my newsletter mailing list on my website get VIP access to it. I have been thinking of writing about backstory of the anti-hero Marduk. I think it would make for a great short story.

8. What would be a good piece of advice for someone who desires beginning to write a series?

Decide whether you want your series to follow the activity of a character (like in a sci fi series where each book is a separate adventure with the same lead character), or if you want your series to be an epic story told over several volumes, with each volume holding an act of the epic, but also is part of the overall story arc. I think the second choice is much harder since it takes a lot of planning and foresight to make sure the volumes tie together well.

9. Do you prefer writing a series over a standalone novel?

 I recently released my first sci-fi book which is a standalone and to be honest it was a lot faster and easier to write than a series. But if a story calls to be written in a series, it deserves the effort.

10. Who is your main character? 

Are there any similarities between you and your main character? Istara's story drives the series from beginning to end, and no there are no similarities at all. If anything I relate better to a secondary character, called Meresamun who is a storyteller :)

11. What does your character go through in the series? 

Well now that would be a spoiler, wouldn't it? But I can sum it up with three sentences...

12. What does having readers for any of your stories mean to you?

 It means that my words are reaching people's hearts and minds and they are travelling away into other worlds and times, and I think this is the most beautiful thing I can imagine.

1. What type of stories do you like to read?

At the moment, I am very much enjoying books about women during the time of Greek mythology, such as Circe, Ariadne, and Lavinia.

2. What type of music do you like to listen to?

Mostly chillstep, ambient and epic core.

3. What is one of your favorite stories that you've read on wattpad? 

The Disjointed Tales of Renryre Island by M.A.B. Holloway, a very clever and entertaining read that deserves far more attention that it's getting!
