interview #9 @Hopefully_Dreaming (@TheChaoticDreamers founder)

1. What's it like working for @TheChaoticDreamers? What do you do for the community?

Working for The Chaotic Dreamers has started out easy because we're still a new community, but we've already had a couple assignments and our members are hard workers and I'm looking forward to fun times with them. In the community I am a founder so along with my other founder we handle everything going on and overseeing. Unlike most founders though we also have jobs for ourselves. I am a writer and therapist in the community.

2 What is the @TheChaoticDreamers?

The Chaotic Dreamers are a community (obviously) centered around mental health. That is our main theme and topic but we also do everything else. Writing contests, graphic shops. We want to show people it's okay to not be okay and that they can figure it out with the help of others and support.

3. How did you get involved with the community?

The community idea was born when my friend asked me if I wanted to make a community with her and I immediately said yes. We decided on the theme and the name together and we put in hours of work making the server and books for it.

4. What are some programs that the community offers?

Since our community is mental health based what we do is we have a program for the therapists that is part of their job. The therapists, whenever they get patients are supposed to remember this is about keeping the patient comfortable. The patient has a lot of rights because we know how hard it is to feel safe and accepted. Patients can give a description to the founders of what type of therapist they would prefer and patients as always have a confidentiality right. No one else, even fellow therapists should know what is going on. Founders are to be alerted though is the patient is going to harm themselves or someone else. The patient can choose to talk in dms instead of a private channel in the server. For all our others we have a role called he Dreamers role who just want to spectate and not do any jobs, they are allowed to vote and put forth ideas for things but they have no jobs.

5. Why should someone be involved in the community?

The stigma around mental health is negatively affecting society and we shouldn't wait for someone so stand up and say it's not okay to say mental health is a joke when we could be the ones saying it. We want to show people that even if it is a phase the way they are feeling is valid and okay and there are going to be people there to help them. So many teens today suffer and cannot tell anybody, we as teens ourselves want gm create that safe space. People lie and say they are depressed, not all people but enough that being "Brocken" has become a trend. We want a healthy space for people to learn there is more to life than what is bringing them down. Not just that but we want them to find friends and family and have fun.

6. If you could add some type of new addition to your community, what would you add?

I would add a station for struggling authors and I would add jobs for people who do party planning type things just to keep things fun but the struggling author station I would add as a community team building exercise where we can help each other and gain as authors and as people from it.

7. What do you believe is the most important thing the community does?

The most important thing our community does in my opinion is the mental health aspect of it. Only recently has mental health been becoming more accepted but even still many people don't accept it and we want to show that we are accepting, that we are here for everyone.

8. What type of stories do you enjoy reading?

I enjoy reading fantasy, romance, historical mystery, murder mystery, mystery in general, true crime, action and adventure, mafia, supernatural and teen fiction/ya stories. For teen fiction tho, I like humor in them as much as I like dark ones.

9. What's your favorite thing about Wattpad?

My favorite thing about Wattpad is that you can showcase your work, get feedback, make friends and just have fun.

10. What's a good piece of writing advice?

Don't write for the reads. Whatever your story is, don't write is based off of what is popular. Write what's in your heart, write what is in your heart, and if that's the popular stuff that's great. But don't write for the reads, write something you love, others will love it too.

11. What's one Wattpad goal?

To write all the stories I have planned and hope the message in them is conveyed and hope that is helps at least one person.

12. What type of music do you like to listen to?

Oh jeez, so many. So I'm American and I only listen to American and British singers and bands. So rock, pop rock, alternative/rock, alternative/indie, some electronic, some pop and whatever category sad songs fall into.

13. Are you more likely to check out an incomplete or complete story?

Complete cause I've read I complete stories and if they're good you don't wanna wait especially if the author hasn't updated in years.

14 Who is your favorite author?

My favorite author. On Wattpad probably RobTheir, JoPR, DarknessAndLight, bookbitchcrimsonred, and a few others. Of published books it is SJM who I know is problematic and as a person I'm not a fan but her books, the characters really helped me at a time when I was really low. Cassandra Clare cause shadowhunters holds a special place in my heart, Leigh Bardugo cause she makes me feel but I don't hate her for it. Jennifer L. Armentrout, Holly Black and Rick Riordan.
