interview #9 @blueverymuffin

1 What is your favorite thing about Wattpad?

My favorite thing about Wattpad. Well, I'd say all the brilliant people I've met on it (I'll refrain from shoutouts because I'm paranoid about missing someone out and plus @BooksbyLwordpress may be annoyed if too many people are tagged) but I feel like a million other people will say that. What I will say is how Wattpad has provided a really accessible platform for me to share my work. For people who want others to read their work but don't necessarily want their story to be published, Wattpad is really great. And (I said I wouldn't, but) I've made so many friends here, it's really restored my faith in humanity and the internet. I think we get told all the time that the internet is full of scary, mean trolls but I've found some really lovely people on here so I'm just so grateful for that.

2 What is your writing routine?

Writing routine? Do I have one? I usually write up chapters while sitting on the Tube (subway, underground train, idk) on the way to school and on the bus on my way back home which amounts to about an hour and a half journey of which I spend about 30 minutes writing. That being said, sometimes I spend my commute revising or just reading through what I've written so it's not a solid routine but just a brief amount of time I can dedicate pretty much wholly to my writing.

3 What is your favorite story?

Please. No. This question is my nemesis. Firstly, someone asking my favorite anything (music, food, anything) literally makes me forget all memories I have of it, so asking me what my favorite story is gets me like "books? I've read them? really?". Secondly, I can't bear having to choose between characters and worlds and ugh this is painful. If we're talking about stories in general, you're never going to get an answer out of me, but if we're talking about stories on Wattpad, then... maybe I can narrow it down. Favorite fanfic would be @owlsarelovely's A Wonderful Fortuitous Love (https://www.wattpad.com/story/178646-a-wonderful-fortuitous-love). It's, it's amazing. I wouldn't change anything about it. First For original characters, honestly, @arcticstar's Worst Story on Wattpad (https://www.wattpad.com/story/6353209-worst-story-on-wattpad-%E2%9C%93). It's just a piece of satirical tongue-in-cheek genius - far from the worst story on Wattpad, it's definitely one of the best.

4 What is the best way to handle a bully?

The best way to handle a bully, well, luckily from me, I don't have any experience with this. I would be frankly terrible at handling bullies because I would either get hurt by what they say or lash out and start a fight but - big but - if I were giving someone else some rational advice, just to do the opposite of what I would do. Don't give them any reason to talk to you. Maybe just give them a weird look and walk off. And TELL SOMEONE. God, people say this all the time but it's true - doesn't have to be a teacher or a parent or anything, talk to a friend, talk to a family member, talk to ME (yas my pms are open for serious and non-serious chat).

5 What is your favorite holiday and why?

Favorite holiday is a tough question. No particular attachment to religious holidays or festivals, mainly any opportunity to relax and eat good food is a great holiday. Winter is usually cold and miserable in the UK but CHRISTMAS! means presents. and food. *sighs in contentment* Easter is when I usually go back to Japan so a big yay for that. Summer holidays are great but always feel too short, and I usually just end up disappointed that I didn't manage to do as much as I'd hoped to do. Half-term breaks are like... does that even count as a holiday? Teachers think it's just a time for the students to do their learning at home (the amount of homework T^T)

6 What is one Wattpad goal?

If by Wattpad goal you mean what I hope to achieve on Wattpad, well, it is only a boring, humble little goal, but it's to finish my story on here. I've got no, like, vote or reader or award goals, because that's not really what I publish my story here for. If there is at least one reader who has read the entirety of my story and enjoyed it, I would be satisfied.

7 How would you enjoy a rainy day?

Being used to rainy days (the lovely British weather), I always have a good idea of what I would like to spend them. HOWEVER, parents, school, work always prevents me from fulfilling my dreams. If I could have the perfect, ideal rainy day, I would invite my closest friends over, curl up on the sofa with them to watch a bunch of movies while eating hot buttery popcorn and drinking hot chocolate the way my mum drinks wine (aka as if the drink is the only thing keeping us alive). Yes. And then they'd stay over and we'd fall asleep talking about our favorite books while snuggling in super fluffy blankets. And no school the next day. THAT would be the perfect rainy day (it is yet to happen).

8 What is your favorite movie?

All these favorite questions are so hard to answer, but I'll try to be brief because if you're still reading... you're amazing. Favorite movie - God knows I haven't watched nearly as many movies as I'd like, but oh my god I've forgotten all movies except the Shrek movie I watched yesterday... Please don't judge my movie taste because of that one movie (my mum chose it anyway) but um... my mind hath blanketh. One day I will remember. It's just that I can't choose. ARGH next question

9 Who is your favorite author?

Favorite author is a terrible question because now I'm choosing between people but if we're going by writing style, then... I loved Maggie Stiefvater's style in the first few books of the Raven Cycle series but at the same time the whole world JKR has created in the Harry Potter series is something that I will never be able to fall out of love with (disclaimer: I do not support her views). I read this book called The Outsiders and I will never be able to forget it. The author was a teen when she wrote it! damn, inspirational.

10 What is your favorite snack?

Ohohoho snacks. I love them. Literally anything goes. Crisps, popcorn, chocolate, sweets, and don't get me started on Japanese snacks because I'm sorry but they are superior. The variety, the quality, the price as well, for god's sake. I like nuts too (peanuts, almonds, cashews) except for hazelnuts and Brazil nuts. I don't know why. I like hazelnut flavor but not the nut. Just. Yeah. I'm weird. RICE CRACKERS - that too.

11 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?

Every time. Every single time, I'm still surprised. I get an email saying I've got a new follower, a new vote, a new comment and I'm just over the moon. I might take ages, but I always try to follow back, to reply to a comment and appreciate the fact that there are people out there appreciating my content, which is just wow. Thank you. Please keep surprising me.
