interview #20 @terraxxa
1 what inspired you to write?
I'm not sure. I've written since I was a kid, and I think what I first liked about it was creating new worlds and fictional people. I preferred those aspects over writing plot, and I would begin dozens of stories and never finish them.
2 what is one Wattpad goal?
To finish a story. It's a pretty big undertaking that I've never managed to stick to. I kind of want to get a paper copy printed with a fake name, then maybe loan it out to friends without telling them I wrote it, haha. I also just want to connect with people because the community here is amazing and so supportive. <3
3 who is your favorite author?
I feel like I need to read a lot more to really decide. Recently, I've liked stories I've read by Ray Bradbury, Albert Camus, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allen Poe.
4 what's your schedule regarding your writing?
I can never manage to keep a schedule. The motivation and inspiration to write strikes whenever it may, and I just kind of ride that wave, then post what I've written as soon as it feels done. :P
5 what's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?
Write for yourself. Not all stories will take off, so it's important that you enjoy the process or get some kind of expression out of it. Also, participate: be active in the community, comment on other people's stories, make connections.
6 how would you spend a rainy day?
Indoors, probably. So not much different than usual, haha.
7 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?
I love music, so I'd probably pick someone like FKA Twigs, and hopefully watch her perform or something.
8 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?
Yes, it was shocking when my story was featured as a Hidden Gem on Wattpad's front page and suddenly got so much attention.
9 what's your favorite thing about Wattpad?
The people here are generally super nice, which is great because people really pour their hearts into their stories, and that can feel a bit vulnerable.
10 what's your favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving. I love that time of year to begin with, and the togetherness is really nice (...so is the food). It's also important to reflect on what you're grateful for in life. I think Christmas gets a bit overbearing with the constant holiday music, flashing lights, and commercialism.
11 what's the best way to handle a bully?
It depends on the situation. Sometimes talking it out and explaining your perspective might work. It's important to stand up for yourself, though other times the best option is to just not let it get to you/ignore them. Some people are just straight mean spirited.

My story, The Unknown, is fast-paced, with a bit of humor, violence, love, emotional devastation—the works. It's about young adults being hunted by their government and desperately searching for the reason why. Genres: Sci-fi, Action, Thriller, YA.
