1. Do you believe featuring in 'Meet the Authors' has helped you as a writer?

I think absolutely it did! I hadn't come across anything like this on Wattpad when I was first asked to interview, and it was so cool to see the inner workings of so many other authors! I love hearing the foundations for people's ideas and how they came to write, and what inspired them, and I think it's always good to be inspired by your fellow writers, so that was amazing! Also, it felt so cool to have someone ask me questions I had never thought about before, and it really helped when I came to reviewing people's work later too, because I saw how important an author's personality was to their works. I had a wonderful time last time, and was super excited to do it again this time!

2. What genre do you like to read?

I have two favourite genres and they really contrast! I will go through phases of being completely hooked on romance, I am an absolute sucker for a forbidden love, for the ache to love someone when you're not allowed, there's just something about good writing that makes my soul so happy! And the other one is crime, which is a very opposite contrast! I love a good mystery, my local bookstore has the best selection and the owner reserves some specifically if he thinks I'll like them, he has a very good eye for romance and for crime! One time, he found be the most perfect balance of both, he must be some supernatural, worldly book God!

3. What's the best piece of advice you have received on Wattpad?

The best piece of advice that I received on Wattpad was to not take criticism personally, and to look at it as being constructive and helpful. This was so helpful when I came to reviewing, because I made sure to make suggestions in a helpful and supportive way. SO many people want to see you succeed and any advice that could make your book any better than it already is, will always be a win! I've had so many lovely comments, but I always think it's very cool to see people with suggestions on how to improve, I think these people are the ones who connect the best to your story, so it's super important to listen!

4. Are your stories on any other platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Amazon etc)?

They're not actually! I've had a few people asking me to make an Instagram for my book, and I've been debating it - so we'll see! I would love to publish one day, but I just love seeing comments and getting to talk to readers, and you can't do that easily in a book so I think I'll hold off for now in wandering down that path!

5. Do you believe being apart of the Wattpad community has helped you as a writer?

ABSOLUTELY! I've said a hundred times over (my followers will be so tired of hearing it!) but I think that the best thing you can have when you publish a book is a community. Not only will you have friends that are kind and supportive and will read and oftentimes vote and comment on your stories, but also you'll have people there that genuinely want to help and offer advice, with followings or books bigger than your own that could be of real help! Even before I published my book, I had 500 followers of friends and writers and it was, and still is my favourite thing about this platform!

6. What's one story (on or off Wattpad) that you would recommend someone read?

Now this is a tough one!! There's a few I've absolutely loved and a few that I can't wait to get started on, that look amazing! I just got Barack Obama's autobiography for Christmas because I loved Michelle Obama's, and I can't wait to get into that, but fiction wise? My all time favourite has to be 'Me Before You' by JoJo Moyes. I'm a complete sucker for a sad romance, and I read this book in one sitting! I'm sure there's a thousand more, but they always go right out of my head as soon as someone asks me!

7. How's your latest story going? Can you tell us anything about it?

My latest story is FINISHED! I can't believe it! I did my first interview here when I had just posted the first three chapters and now we're all done! I've been so overwhelmed with the reaction from people, and I couldn't be more grateful! It's called 'All I Have', and even though it's complete, there's some things to definitely keep an eye out for, if you'd fancy!! As for new books... well... lets just say never say never!!

8. Do you believe interview platforms, clubs, contests and organization accounts on Wattpad are a useful to new writers?

I think they're super useful! Not only do they direct people to books they maybe wouldn't have previously discovered, but they provide a platform for people who were otherwise struggling! Organization accounts I think could be brilliant, if they were run a little differently. I think it would be amazing to have an organization account (like a publishing house for example) that interacted with writers, giving them tips and feedback and how to get published etc. I would create one of my own, if I wasn't just a lowly, unpublished writer! I think contests and interview platforms provide a place for people to find friends, and similarly minded authors however and so I absolutely adore those!

9. As a writer, do you think it's wise to write in more than one genre?

I think it's impossible to stick to just one genre! I think there will always be aspects of different genres to your works, and I noticed this especially during reviewing! I think a good book will transition genres throughout; for example if you're writing a romance novel, maybe it'll appear more like a teen fiction to begin with, or if you're writing a crime or mystery or adventure book, then maybe there'll be a crossover there, and maybe even a love story! I think the best stories are the ones that can navigate this crossing of genres and nail each one, and it makes them the most fun to read!
