     Sonic was the youngest member in a family of acrobats known as the " Flying Hedgehogs". Sonic's family were killed by a mafia boss named Eggman, in order to extort money from the circus that employed them.
After the tragic murder, Master Splinter adopts Sonic as his son and trains him to become his crime - fighting partner. After some time, he left his partnership with Splinter, eventually becoming the leader of Team Sonic.
Five years later with Team Sonic, they along with Sonic saw an alien incursion taking place, where young Amy ( Elmi in Tameranian language) , was attacked by other extraterrestrials. Being smitten with her at first sight, Sonic was the first to leap into the gray to protect her, saving her from being sucked into a portal in the sky. After landing on the ground, Amy kissed him, introducing herself while explaining her species ability to learn language through kissing. After hearing of her predicament of being forced to leave her home-world, Sonic offered her sanctuary on Mobious, welcoming her to Team Sonic. He would also begin a romantic relationship with Amy. Sonic would also meet Shadow the hedgehog and finds out that Shadow is the blood son of Master Splinter and becomes his next protege.
