Gajeel's POV

It had been days since Levy was put into hospital. Even though the doctors expected her to wake up the day after, she was still asleep in her comatose state. I knew that they said it would be the earliest, but they never said how long would be the latest.

The petite girl lay in the bed with the same oxygen mask as the first time I saw her in this condition. Her bandages had been changed earlier on that day, the last time I looked at the clock on the wall it said it was 9:45 in the morning. My gaze wouldn't shift from her direction in fear of her slipping away without me noticing.

The chair I was sat in was pulled up close to the bed, to the side of Levy.

"Gajeel? Have you seriously been sat there this whole time?" A girl voice called out. "Haven't you slept? Showered?"

"What do you want Wendy?" I asked.

"I'll watch Levy for a while, it's 6 in the evening. Go home, eat, get some rest and come back tomorrow." She said as she dragged a chair beside mine. "Juvia was discharged two days ago, she's worried about you and Levy but she's not allowed to leave the house because of her injuries."

"But the doc said-,"

"Turns out she didn't tell Juvia that she had to stay in bed for another week." Wendy put her hand on my arm and smiled. "Go home. I'll make sure she's okay."

Reluctantly, I stood up and grabbed my coat. "If anything happens, like her heart rate increases or decreases slightly, call me and I'll come running."

"For a fake marriage, you really do care for her."

"You know..,?"

The young girl twiddled her thumbs. "I overheard you the other day, talking to her. You were confessing, and that made me confused. But I understood when you were talking about a 'fake marriage', this one right?"

I nodded.

"To be honest, I think you two suit each other."

"Really?"

"Yes, the scary big guy and the lovely lady."

"Thanks, I think..."

Wendy grinned and then focused on Levy and her heart monitor. She started talking to her, explaining how she became such a successful businesswoman and why she joined me and Natsu in our business friendship. In my opinion, she made it seem happier than it actually was. Her version involved happy smiling people whereas the truth was sad people when we crushed their businesses.

Making my way down the busy corridors, I quickly called the estate to let them all know that I was returning home shortly.

"Hello, Redfox residence. Who is speaking?"

"It's me."

"Oh, Sir Redfox. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I'm coming back."

"Would you like someone to come pick you up?"

"No, I'll walk."

"Very well Sir, we shall prepare a meal for your return."

Locking my phone, I exited the hospital and walked down the roads to get back to my home. There were street lights which didn't work and so I was left alone in the dark, nothing I wasn't used to.

On my way back, I bumped into a gang who I recognised.

"Death Streak? You guys are still in Fiore?"

"Yeah!"

"OF course!"

"Why wouldn't we be?" Some of them yelled out.

"Well. Since I kicked your asses a couple of weeks ago, you know. After you beat up one of my gang members."

"You'll get whats coming to you Redfox," one of them spat.

"I'm so scared." I said in a monotone voice. "Now scram, get out of here before I decide to beat you up."

They didn't think twice about leaving. Scurrying away, they all seemed to snicker... It was strange.

"What...?" I mumbled before carrying on walking away and towards the estate.

---------------------------------------------------

As I entered the large mansion, I was welcomed by some tired faces with worried looks. I acknowledged them all and left to get some food. Although there were kitchen staff willing to cook me food, I decided that I'd try to make things by myself.

"It's about time I learned how." I told them. "Go... chill in the lounge or games room for the rest of the evening."

"Thank you Sir Redfox." They all said with large smiles on their faces.

Sighing and running my fingers through my hair, I realized that I hadn't showered in a couple of days so I planned to shower after my meal. I didn't realise how tired I was either. My eyes kept threatening to close and my senses felt number than usual.

The fridge was filled with steaks, chicken fillets, pork chops and other main course meals however I felt like having a simple meal.

Ham sandwiches.

After making the delicious food, I sat down at the table and ate. I put the stereo system on as well and listened to the loud rock music which was blaring through the speakers. No servants came into the kitchen, but somehow through all of the music I could hear their footsteps outside of the door and their mumbles.

"...should we check on...."

".....but he said....."

"....It's best to not disturb him...."

Closing my eyes, I sat back in the wooden seat and tapped my fingers along to the beat. Soon enough, the sounds from outside of the kitchen died down, and all I could hear was the beat of the drums and the chords from the guitars.

----------------------------------------------

My eyes opened to see light seeping into the room through the windows. The music from the night before had been switched off and was replaced with the morning news from the radio.

Chopping pieces of fruit into slices on the counter was Juvia, she was bandaged literally from head to toe. Aside from her face, neck, hands and feet she was covered in bandages.

"Finally awake Gajeel?"

I groaned. "What time is it?"

"Juvia is making lunch, it's almost one o'clock." She continued to prepare the food but not before throwing an apple slice in my direction.

I thought that she was aiming for me but then a large panther jumped up and snatched the apple out of the air.

"Fuck you PantherLily."

PantherLily seemed to smirk and then lay down beside my seat.

"Juvia wished that Levy would have changed Gajeel's language since she is a language student and all." Juvia muttered, obviously intended for me to not hear.

"Gajeel wishes that his staff won't talk about him right in front of him."

The girl glared at me and I shrunk back in my seat.

Yeah, I was the leader of the streets.

Yeah I was meant to be the scariest person in Fiore.

Yeah, I was scared of one of my staff.

But I raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do we have any news?"

"Of Levy?" She shook her head. "None yet. The hospital told us what they told you."

"Shit."

"Language."

"Sorry, stercore."

"What language is that?" Juvia asked, unable to tell what language I was using.

"Latin, it was in a book I read called 'Other Ways to Road Rage'. It's a favourite of mine."

Rolling her eyes, she placed the tray of fruit, bacon and eggs on the table and sat down opposite me. PantherLily took a sudden interest to the tray as it had...

You guessed it.

Kiwis.

"Please tell me you didn't feed him any."

She laughed evilly. "I'm his favourite now."

PantherLily just nodded.

----------------------------------------

The day passed by so quickly, I didn't realise it was late evening until a maid asked what I wanted for dinner.

I'd moved into the library and continued to speak to Juvia and sit with PantherLily. Neither of them had seen the time either, but we had a lot to talk about and a lot to not think about.

"I'll just have whatever's easier for the kitchen staff."

"Of course Sir Redfox. Thank you Sir." The maid left and as she did, Juvia stood up.

"Juvia needs to go and advise the guards. Apparently they received a threat last night."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" I hissed.

"Juvia did not wish to bother Gajeel, since she knows that Gajeel is worrying about Levy."

"..."

"You know what?" She smiled. "Juvia thinks that Gajeel should ask Levy if they want to be together."

"I swear I've been told that before."

"Juvia means it, she could teach you better language to use when you're upset or annoyed."

"What? Is stercore not good enough anymore?"

"No. No it's not."

Juvia left the library leaving me and PantherLily alone. The panther rolled around on the floor, his stomach rumbling; no doubt for kiwis.

He closed his eyes and breathed out very loudly. He looked bored.

"You want to see her don't you?"

His ears pricked up and he looked at me with gleaming eyes.

"Animals aren't allowed in hospitals... Unless it's an animal hospital. Which it's not."

PantherLily rolled over again and made a low growling noise.

"What? Are you annoyed you can't see her?"

"Bonjour Sir Redfox~!" Sol entered the room, bouncing along as he approached me.

"Sol, I haven't spoken to you in a while."

"Non non non! Sir Redfox you must know that I have been fine~! Mais it seems like you've caused too much trouble this time hmmm?"

"Too much? I think I once established that you can never be in too much trouble." I joked.

"Hon hon hon!" The maniac laughed. "As funny as ever sir!"

"What do you need?"

"Hmm? Some of the staff were wondering where in the Fiore Emergency Hospital was Miss McGarden's room?"

"It's room... What room was it again?"

Sol's phone went off in his waistcoat pocket, he carefully took it out of his pocket and smiled.

"Never mind Sir~! Juvia has texted moi back, oh and here's your evening wine~!" He handed me a large wine glass half way filled with a dark red wine.

"Thank you Sol."

"Non non non Monsieur. Thank you."

I was an idiot. I didn't understand what he meant by 'thank you' until my vision became blurry and I managed to see Sol dial a number on his phone and grin.

"Josef sir? Redfox is out. It's safe to go in, we have six hours to get her out and back to base--,"

Then it faded, and everything went black.

--------------------

Levy's POV (some of you guys requested this so, here ya go~)

It didn't hurt, the crash I mean.

All I actually did feel, was an ache. Not the ache which makes you feel like you're going to be sick, but the worry type of ache.

Strange I know.

But, I guess I was too busy worrying to feel the pain from the impact.

I knew that I had been in an accident, and I knew that I had been in a car.

What I didn't know, was why was I in that car?

Who was the person beside me who tried to block the glass from shattering in my direction?

And who was the person who kept whispering 'I love you'?

Whoever it was, that's why I had the ache. It was like, my heart was worrying that they'd be alone without me whereas my mind decided that they could be forgotten.

Is that how it works? Your mind is the boss yet your heart is the dreamer?

Confusing if you ask me.

What I also knew was that I was in trouble.

In my dream-like state, floating in darkness, I could hear voices beside me whisper then cackle.

"When do you..... He'll wake..... Freak out?"

The first voice was a deep one, but at the same time emotional. Like the person was sad for doing this to me.

"Who cares!" The other voice I heard much clearer. "But I do know that he'll regret the day he left Phantom Lorde and left the rest of us in the dirt. We took his sister, we can take his lover too."

I'm someone's lover?

But... Who's?

That twist though.

You hate me now don't you ? ;D

And remember,

THE SUN CAN RUIN EVERYTHING.

Yes I'm aware that Sol is Spanish for sun but in the anime/manga he uses French words and speaks with a French accent.

I'm extremely sorry if I offended anyone who is French/ knows French people / loves French people etc,
I adore France and if this has offended anyone please tell me and I will take it down and change Sol's lines.

I do not wish to upset anyone.
