"I did not come here to be bothered, now tell me why in your wretched mind you seemed to think it is a good idea to try a snake when it's defensive."

Her low drawl rose a smile to Klaus's lips as he walked through the cemetery and towards her crypt. He'd had the young vampire, Josh, go in search of a few details, low and behold the boy had proven himself useful. The beautiful structure was built deep within the ancient garden of death, hidden under a spell for centuries to the untrained she it was nothing more then a forgotten wasteland but he could feel the energy radiating off it. Who knows what the Bennett witch and the Salvatore brothers could have done with it in time.

He found Medusa at the bottoms steps of the palace, her once sparkly dress had been converted into a dark leather tank that stopped right under her breasts, exposing the soft skin of her belly, black smooth leggings and a pair of boots that matched. He admitted to himself how much more he preferred her in black clothes, a queen of the damned she was.

It was late and normally he'd never leave his home this late, with Hayley pregnant and Rebekah lurking around there was too much he needed to control but for this he would make an exception. Rebekah had informed him the Devereaux witch had not only failed to complete the locator spell but also added something else to her chants, a snake from Medusa's chambers to expose the Gorgon. Rebekah had not noticed until it was too late and while she had not completed the task and been reprimanded heavily by the blond Mikaelson it still seemed to work in their favor. Klaus has now not only taken Thierry's freedom and credibility but also put a strain between Medusa and Marcel. Judging by her vicious growl of words she had thrown at him it had indeed been quite the angry spat.

The closer he came towards her he noticed a difference, one he'd awaited for ages as a final confirmation. The black ruins that marked his skin were like demonic hands, scripture that Klaus' artistic mind found more then intriguing, it was like a mosaic painted across Ancient Rome. He liked it, found it added more depth to what he considered hells deep.

Medusa's eyes were up in a split second afterwards, directed at him and he found yet another surprise, they were slit like a vipers, clearly a temporary loss on her power.

"Well, Love, seems the night hasn't faired well for you." He ignores her warning and instead comes closer.

The Gorgon stands and meet shim halfway, and there's only about a foot of tension with them as her teeth grind within her lips and fists tighten. "You did something..."

"I merely tipped a domino, Marcel let the rest fall and dropped it all on you." Klaus corrected her. "Did you really think Marcel was concerned for you? I hate to disappoint but you and that little witch he has are merely the pillars holding everything up, the moment one of you fails to upkeep he is like any other king, looking to blame."

"And I suppose you'd be different," Medusa rolls her eyes and cords her arm, a humorless laugh leaves her lips as she can't find anything but that to do. It burned like acid, like molten lava dropping on her skin to know how right Klaus was.

"Not different, but I'd accommodate." Klaus once more corrects and Medusa hisses as her agitation grows. Klaus notices how her eyes are now a brilliant amber, and the slits are like a vipers ready to pounce. He decides to make the proposition short and blissful, "I once ruled this city, my family and I were King's and queens, Marcel a prince. He wasn't ready to rule, not then and certainly not now. A king is the challenge, not hiding behind it. You and this Davina he keeps close to heart are weapons he dangled over the creatures in this city and while it may work for now, you should know very well that eventually your patience will run thin. Love, you are not his to move like a piece of a chessboard, you are the board itself."

Medusa huffed and Klaus smiled as his assumptions were clearly correct. He could see she was now tipping to his side and the glorious idea of having the sultry, dangerous creature by his side was appetizing. He hummed to himself and walked closer, seeing that she was no longer defensive. He looked up at the grand temple and wondered what sorts of mysteries were behind its wall.

A low purr of a hiss escaped the necklace and she turned, "come inside, I'd like to show you something."

Klaus's worry was filled but he did not back, instead stepping up the stairs and into the dark dungeon. He watched as Medusa touched one of the staffs on the walls and a blazing blue light erupted, the flames shifting from green to blue and guiding their way. He'd seen many strange things but this... it was interesting.

"This place is hidden with magic, long ago by Zeus and his disciples so they'd forget my memory. The witches used powerful magic, one of which they'd never used before to make it appear in New Orleans. It's being sustained by my presence now—mine and a few others actually. My time in the underworld I grew accommodated to my other companions, the queen of Magic, Cersei, was one of them and she taught me a few things. This light is from the underworld, it's a flame that will never go out unless I command it too, but as impressive as all this is that is not why I brought you in here Niklaus."

She stomped, turning back to him and stepping closer, the flame illuminated both their faces as she grew closer. He could see the shift in her eye color, how it went from a whole rounded iris and pupil to a slit one, much like a vipers.

The silence allowed for a whisper to began to commence, at first slow and torturous Klaus couldn't tear his eyes away from her pressing gaze no matter how loud the sounds grew. And then she spoke, explaining to him the madness, "I'd like you to meet my children."

She turned, opening the last set of gates and illuminating the room, all the staffs against the walls lit up, blue green flames erupting and allowing for him to see the horrors.

There was snakes everywhere, different colors and shapes, all hissing and slithering against the floors and walls. They hissed in unison and lifted theirs heads at their mothers voice, and as if commanded all came closer.

Klaus swallowed thickly as the serpents made their way closer and one wrapped itself around his mothers leg, long slinky body sliding up and allowing the brunette to pet its head. The brightly yellow color of its skin contrasted to the mothers black jacket as it wrapped around her torso and then rested its head against her shoulder.

"They're hungry and I'd like you to help me feed them." Medusa hummed and the smile against her lips was serpent like.

"And what is it these creatures appetite for," Klaus questioned, somehow he knew this wasn't a threat but a shower of her power, like she was coming around.

"The witches, all who have crossed and done me harm. They protect their mother by making her enemies disappear, and now they will protect you as well."

Klaus smiles and suddenly he felt welcomed, finally, he had the Gorgon, now all that was left was the witch and soon the Kingdom would be his once more, with an heir to the throne.

Medusa walked down the streets of the French Quarter in peace, humming to herself as she took notice of the local witches and smiled at them. God, they had no idea who she was, and it amazed her.

Today felt like a real beginning of her time, like the commencement of her reign.

Over the last few days she'd stayed in her temple, surrounded by her snakes who guarded their mother as she slept and protected her against any that would intrude. Klaus has yet to come see her since agreeing to their plan. No matter, he would eventually find that a snakes pull was like a vice.

Medusa almost nearly felt like she was dancing in the street and with the festive music that surrounded her, the smiling humans, and the budding excitement that she could nearly taste it was no wonder, it was festival season after all.

It was some Street Music Festival, she's overheard marcel discussing with the mayor sometime weeks ago and while the idea had completely surpassed her thoughts that day... today she felt it would be the perfect way to get a thorn in Marcel's side.

And it would also be a nice time to see the harvest witch.

Medusa pondered where first to go when the decision was made for her abruptly.

The wisps of air and stares that suddenly weighed on her made her turn into a small alley and find that a few of Marcel's loyal vampires were awaiting her.

Diego was at the head, his face was angry just like the rest of the vampires and Medusa could only tilt her head and tighten her lips together, did they think they could intimidate her?

"Diego, well I can't say it's a pleasure." She hummed and eyed all of them, they were no real threat.

"Marcel wants to speak with you, says to meet him at the bar." He cut straight to the chase, leaving no room for chitchat.

Medusa smiles in slight annoyance and hummed lowly, "seems of importance. Couldn't you vampire kind have gotten off his royal throne to come find me himself?"

He scoffed, "Marcel's got more important things to worry about like the festival tonight, he can't come finding every stray dog."

Medusa tightened her fists at the jab as the vampire went to walk around her, like a viper she lashed out and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. She hissed lowly, daring any of the others to interfere as they immediately went to aid their friend but found themselves as helpless. Medusa allowed the hiss to crawl up Diego's neck and into his ear lowly as her voice was like a hiss, "next time you speak to me like that will be the last time you have a tongue to speak. I assure you this is a promise because my bite is actually more terrifying then my bark."

She released him and disappeared, leaving the vampires to worry about what had just occurred, not that she cared anymore.

Marcel's bar was as per usual a steady influx of customers, all joyously drinking or dancing to music. It'd been once a place she liked to often visit, although now she assumes her welcome would be less then kind.

When she stepped into the bar she found the familiar blonde psychiatrist at the bar, cleaning the tops of the tables and occasionally taking down drinks. She was good at multitasking, one moment she could be cleaning a spilled beer while reading a textbook she hid under the bar and the next she was missing 3 drinks at once, like a true bartender.

Cami didn't even see her she worked so fast, her smile radiating at every drunken customer and overzealous tourist.

Medusa trailed her eyes away towards the tables where she found Marcel at one of his usual posts, somewhere in the back where he could look down at the controlled chaos he worked so hard for.

Medusa wanted to gag at how important he looked but instead walked that way, pacing herself as she fought to control every bitter emotion.

However even something's needed to be said.

"Dearest Marcel, what have I done to deserve this kingly command from your guard dogs." She announced herself, sliding into the seat and adjusting comfortably. Her legs crossed over each other and she leaned back into the chair, to show how comfortable and fearless was, a prick to Marcel.

He jaw tightened and she nearly cheered at how simple her jab had been but how effective it actually was. "You're a remarkably obnoxious person."

"And yet you summoned me here, seems to me you are just a masochist." She grinned with another win.

"I do have an actual city to run smoothly, I can't just keep running off and disappearing when times get tough like others." He snapped back in a very calm voice.

Touché, Medusa thought but still titled her head like the beauty queen unafraid of the king of monsters. "You know since I've been released from your side I do actually have to worry about the witches coming for me so if this was only to anger each other further I will be taking my leave."

Marcel sighed, "wait—"

Medusa stopped from standing, knowing that this would have driven him straight to the point. She pretended to adjust back into her seat and took his glass of whiskey. "What is it Marcel?"

"It's Davina," he states firmly and Medusa quickly stood straighter. Their arguments were one thing but when it came to the little witch there was nothing that could unite or tear them apart faster. Medusa hates to admit it but the teenager had grown on her, even her snakes often whispered to their mother how much they liked her. His eyes seem to analyze her, like he was assuring himself that she still cared about the witch as much as he did which was ridiculous. Medusa was mad at him not the witch. He seemed to find happiness as he sighed, "shes demanding to go to the festival. She used her powers on me until I agreed..."

Medusa smiled, prideful that her little witch was finally taking command. It had been about time she used her powers for something more then Marcel's citywide patrol.

"I said yes and told her she was going to need protection so I got Cami to show her around and some of the night guys will be watching them but..."

Medusa smirked as she knew now Marcel was more then asking for her, he was begging her. "You need someone more powerful having their backs, and it also helps that I'm a girl, which won't make it as awkward now will it?"

Marcel wanted to combust at how easily she read his mind, it was like she had wire tapped his mind. She was right, of course, he thought bitterly and sighed. "Yes, exactly that."

Medusa smirked at her glorious win and hummed to herself as she pretended to debate the answer. Truth be told, she was already on board, and it wasn't because Marcel was worried but because of Davina. Her stomach flipped at the idea of seeing the little witch, she really missed her.

"I'll do it, but none of your god forsaken lectures. This will be done my way, who knows? Maybe my disappearing act will keep the human and witch safe." One again she smirked and slid out of the booth without giving Marcel a chance to speak.

Her strut out of the bar made a slight detour as Cami had made her way out from the bar towards the tables. Medusa walked around until Cami had looked her way and she smiled, "see you tonight, I'll meet you here."

Klaus swept her off the street and into an alley on her walk back to the cemetery.

Medusa pushed him off and leaned against the all, one door kicking up and pushing against the back wall as she twisted her head and muttered. "You keep doing that and we really will test out the theory of stone."

Klaus seemed to like the challenge as Rebekah appeared beside him, the blonde didn't seem as warm to the meeting as she cut right to the chase. "Seemed quite cozy in there with Marcel, love, mind telling us what it was you discussed."

Medusa couldn't help but throw a dig at her, "green isn't a very pretty color on your Rebekah, leave that to me."

"Is red your color? I could have that painted on your within seconds," the blonde spat back with anger.

"Oh I'd like to see you try that one, you'd be grey before anything." Medusa clapped back with ease.

Although the threat seemed to have further  pissed the female Mikaelson off she seemed to slightly stand down as her head titled. "She's spunky, I think you've found a good one here Nik, let's hope this one doesn't betray you like Katherine."

"Darling, you've never met a women like me." Medusa purred.

Rebekah smiled almost amused as Nik took a step forward, "is there something we should know?"

Medusa scoffed, "don't act like Cami isn't under your compulsion Klaus. I know the details have already been whispered into your ear by the pretty little blonde bird."

"Just checking to see we are still on the same side." He smirked and Medusa took a step closer, despite his sister being there and the inappropriate timing she couldn't help herself, Klaus just brought out her inner temptress, and the best part was she knew Klaus would never act on it.

She stepped until there was a inches apart and the loose ends of her hair were grazing against his dark shirt. And she spoke lowly, so only the two of them could hear, "there are no sides here, Klaus. And if there were I don't think our alliance would serve anyone good. I'm warning you though, if you hurt Davina in this mess then the least of your worries will be the retrieval of your kingdom, cause I will bring the underworld to your doorstep and unleash its wrath on you."
